Wow just seen the clip from American Idol on queenonline. And at first i was thinking wow id rather go see Them than Queen and adam lambert, and also why wasnt marc martel doing hammersmith with them instead. His vocals were amazing on last nights show. Then the guitar players were Wow also one played his guitar behind his head and then the other did a flip in the air...Wow wow wow what a performance....Then!!!!!!!!!!! Brian may and Roger taylor came on stage and went into a rock version to the end of the song (somebody to love).. This is what we call a performance much better than Adam Lamberts Performance and the ema awards 10/10..

Martel is in a TRIBUTE band because he's impersonating Freddie Mercury. A tribute band and the real thing are two worlds that should not be combined in a serious setting.
Just watched it myself and I must say I thought it was pretty good, they refreshed the track enough to make it new and exciting without overdoing it.
not sure I would want to try that flip though...
I was interested to see what kind of a bump they might get from the American Idol build up and exposure so thought of the unscientific but interesting Google trends on the term "Queen Extravaganza". Looks like a maybe a little bump in recent days, but nothing too dramatic. May take some days for data to be reflected though. And overall traffic overwhelmingly from Canada, rather than the US. Interesting. http://www.google.com/trends/?q=queen+extravaganza&date=ytd&geo=all&ctab=0&sort=0&sa=N

That didn't stop Journey from hiring the Steve Perry sound-alike Arnel Pineda. Just sayin'

That's actually a good question. If he plans to use it as a gimmick on the tour, I'd best hope he's well trained to handle stage floors with varying foot grip surfaces!
Someone said they played the end of "It's Late" instead of the end of STL (yep, that bit that's a little reminiscent of The Police's "So Lonely"). But it's just the usual last five chords of Somebody to Love speeded up, isn't it?
That would have been fantastic if it was a shouting competition. Unfortunately it wasn't. Are those of you that liked this, unaware of why we loved Freddie as a singer? The guy had an in ear monitor too, only one, but do you know how clear the stage mix can be with in ear monitors? Freddie just had to do with foldback monitors on stage.
It was truly awful, I can't believe any Queen fan could possibly like this drivel. Shame on the lot of you.
Lol. What are you all talking about? What the hell is a "foldback monitor" lol. Though I do think that your point is taken. With that said I don't think there is anything wrong with using earplugs or what have you.
What's this Police song you all are talking about? I thought one it sounded like a sped up "Somebody To Love" which I thought was brilliant and then I can agree that it sounded like "It's Late" which is brilliant as well.
