Queen Date 16.04.1982 Venue Hallenstadion Zürich Title Good evening Zürich Label Play this production Source Long life to the Queen (cleaned up sound) To complete the Zürich 82 shows here’s a transfer of the silver disc “Good evening Zürich” which sounds slightly better in my ears than the “Long life to the Queen” bootleg that has been shared here before (it’s the same source but somehow cleaned up a little). These two concerts are underrated in many collectors’s minds - and that’s what I fully agree. Gregsynth’s remaster is probably the best version available so this is for the completists, the newbies and “beggars” :-). As it is on one silver only it’s incomplete of course. Cover artwork can be found on Bob’s website (saying it is a 2 cd release but I only know the single disc version) or grab the 4 disc cover artwork for both shows that AS created. It’s not a new source or concert so if you don’t like it, do not download. Please convert to mp3 if you like it lossy. 01 Tie Your Mother Down 02 Action This Day 03 Play The Game 04 Somebody To Love [cut] 05 Get Down Make Love 06 Liar 07 Love Of My Life 08 Back Chat (improvisation) Save Me 09 Mustapha (intro) Fat Bottomed Girls [cut] 10 Crazy Little Thing Called Love 11 Death On Two Legs (intro) Bohemian Rhapsody 12 Now I'm Here 13 Dragon Attack Now I'm Here (reprise) 14 Another One Bites The Dust 15 Sheer Heart Attack 16 We Will Rock You 17 Under Pressure 18 We Are The Champions 19 God Save The Queen Enjoy. |

The "unknown" reasons are limited capacity on one disc only :-) |

thefallenqueen 14.04.2012 12:57 |
for those who like a complete version Gregsynth's remaster is the speed corrected version of Long life to the Queen in corrected song order as far as I know which makes it the best available source so far, Good evening Zürich has a slightly better sound but is incomplete, well and Long life to the Queen runs at the wrong speed and two tracks are at the wrong position of the set. Now it's up to everybody which version to chose |

Are you surr "good evening zurich" has better sound the first and original source of this is from " long life to the queen 3 lp" this one was later pressed on a 2 cd set with same name. Zurich is also from the vinyl source, if it has better sound someOne should do a retransfer of the vinyls... |

Indeed, it would be interesting to hear a clean LP transfer. It just sounds like this bootleg label did some EQing and light hiss reduction, and perhaps some click removal since it was LP-sourced. But plenty is missing. For some reason they wanted to squeeze it onto a single disc, so they sped up the recording and made plenty of cuts. To the topic starter - indeed, it's just a single disc. My mistake. Thanks for the share ! |

I do have a very clean copy of the 'Long Life To The Queen' LP bootleg, and uploading that one is something I wanted to do anyway. But it's gonna take time, the bootleg LP also has the speed issues, wrong track order, and can use some EQ in some spots. I have a very decent turntable, cartridge, and analog -> digital converter so the quality will be alright. I'll do it in 24/96 so that everything that's in it, will come out. I did some work on the track listing already (about a half year ago) using the CD bootleg. The CD Bootleg (just as the LP) is a gigantic jig-saw with loose bits and pieces everywhere, and by just listening to the audience (and a lot of patience), and some cut and paste work, this is what I think is the right track listing: Tie Your Mother Down Action This Day Play The Game Somebody To Love Staying Power Get Down, Make Love Liar Under Pressure Love Of My Life Back Chat (improvisation) Save Me Mustapha (intro only) Fat Bottomed Girls Crazy Little Thing Called Love Death On Two Legs (intro) Bohemian Rhapsody Now I'm Here Dragon Attack Now I'm Here (reprise) Another One Bites The Dust Sheer Heart Attack We Will Rock You We Are The Champions God Save The Queen Feel free to comment on this, by the way. |

I did something similar with the CD bootleg, but nothing beats a clean transfer of the LP and going over it with a fine tooth comb. Would love to hear what you've come up with. |

24/96 transfers are way to go. |

any news of transfer? |
ShortSharpShock 01.01.2013 08:33 |
No news on the transfer so far I'm afraid :-( I haven't had the time to do it so far. And this one is gonna take a lot of time to do. On the other hand, about 8 months since I promised to do it, so I'll try to get on it as soon as possible. |
vivaqueen 01.01.2013 13:27 |
No problem |
ShortSharpShock 12.05.2013 15:48 |
It's been more then a year since I promised to make a transfer from the vinyl bootleg, and some good news for now, it's almost ready! It took me a while because I had some serious hardware problems (most of them are solved) and I didn't had much time for it the last few months. I thinks it's almost ready to upload but I want to ask your help. Because I want this version to be the best possible from this source, I want to make sure that whatever I put out, is the best. This bootleg has two major problems: - The set list is meshed up - It runs to fast The first problem (set list) is solved, but for the speed issue I want to hear some opinions. So I decided to make a few short samples that are speed corrected. You can find them here: link Let me know what you think! |
thefallenqueen 13.05.2013 10:03 |
thanks for your work, after listening to your samples I'd say it runs too slow now. I will try some settings and let you know how much it is tomorrow |
The Real Wizard 14.05.2013 12:47 |
In my opinion it'd be a much more worth while task to do a similar job with the original "Long Life To The Queen" bootleg, since there are many parts that are edited out of this version to squeeze it onto a single CD. |

See a few posts earlier. |

No, you definitely made it clear. It's my reading comprehension that needs the work. Great job on the remaster ! I'd happily have this one in my collection. |

I'd happily have this one in my collection.Do you mean the way the speed is now, or just how it sounds? Because I'm still curious to know how people (preferably with skills) think about the speed. And you have done dozens of those things. I simply compared the taped opera part of Bohemian Rhapsody of this show with the Milton Keynes show, and slowed it down until it equaled. Then I used that setting for the complete concert. To me it sounds good this way. But since 'Fallen Queen' has the opinion that it's to slow now, I can use some input. |
The Real Wizard 16.05.2013 01:02 |
If anything, I'd say it's a very slight bit too fast. The BoRhap opera section is usually my benchmark too. Great minds think alike. Nice EQing job. |

The Real Wizard wrote: Nice EQing job.Funny, I didn't do anything on the EQ. It's just a fine example of how good vinyl records can sound. Anyway, since there aren't any others opinions I'll hope to finish it soon and I'll share it in 24/96. Thanks for your help, and I just don't hope they close this site before it's shared ;-) |
