Hi there,
first attempt to make a torrent hope this is working. I grab this from Dime 15min ago. Far superior quality than the previous version I had.
Original Uploader comments:
LDB Special Series #336 (RLR collection) Out of my 7,000+ shows and radio broadcasts, I have many concerts that were special for some reasons: the setlist, the musicians, the venue or unexpected events. These are the ones I'd like to propose you. Most of these come from my cassettes collection, so they will be released at a slower pace than my Master Series! But you won't be disappointed! I will try to gather the most unusual things I have in my collection and, as always, your feedback and comments will be my reward for all the work involved in this project. DO NOT share this music on mp3, just convert it for your own use. Sharing mp3's is the right way to make me stop sharing music here. I think I have something really special to share with all Dimers, but first a bit of background. RLR has been a very active trader back in the early 80's with very wide musical tastes: he could go from Kiss to Joni Mitchell; from Genesis to Deep Purple, Queen, Simple Minds, The Who, Springsteen and many more. In the past I could access his enormous collection to get many U2 tapes some of which I have been sharing with you folks. RLR had all sorts of tapes in his collection, traded not long after the show happened so most of them are low generation, in particular tons of shows recorded in Italy which to me are some of the most interesting. Some of them, I had never seen circulating in the trading circuit. Unfortunately he did not care about generation so this info, except for the shows he has as masters, is not available. RLR has kindly given me access once again to his collection. It was like a "kid in a toy shop" situation: it was hard to select tapes and at the end I came home with some 250 tapes to listen and eventually to transfer in the digital domain. Some of them will be shared here, possibly the most interesting ones. QUEEN Zürich, Hallenstadion April 17, 1982 BOW WOW WOW (opening band) 01-06. 07.Flash's Theme (tape) 08.The Hero 09.Tie Your Mother Down 10.Action This Day 11.Play The Game 12.Staying Power 13.Get Down Make Love 14.Back Chat 15.Under Pressure 16.Love Of My Life 17.Mustapha (solo Freddie) / Save Me 18.Fat Bottomed Girls 19.Crazy Little Thing Called Love 20.Bohemian Rhapsody 21.Now I'm Here / Dragon Attack / Now I'm Here (reprise) 22.Another One Bites The Dust 23.Sheer Heart Attack 24.We Will Rock You 25.We Are The Champions / God Save The Queen TT 122:54 Lineage: Unknown recording device > 2nd generation tape > Aiwa Tape Deck TC-WE475 > Audiophile 2496 Soundblaster > HD > SoundForge 7.0 > CD Wave > FLAC Frontend (level 6) Freddie Mercury (lead vocals, piano, tambourine, acoustic guitar) Brian May (electric guitar, backing vocals, acoustic guitar, piano) Roger Taylor (drums, backing vocals), John Deacon (bass guitar, electric guitar) Morgan Fisher (keyboards, piano) Queen looks like a very popular act among Dimers. Since I started my series I have been asked here and there if I had any Queen to share. Although I do love the band (albeit only the production from the 70's), I have never been a collector of live shows. I have seen only two Queen shows in my career: one in Milano in 1984 and one in Frejus during the Kind of Magic tour. I did not have a recorder with me on both, for various reasons. I obtained a copy from Milano some years after (but now I have a 1st generation coming from RLR archives) and now through RLR I also have a good copy of Frejus. But I decided to seed something else instaed. This is the second show in Zürich in a row, with the band having played the day before. The tapes also had the supporting act which I also include for completeness. You can hear this is a low generation, sound is clear although the equipment was not the best you could get in the 80's. Still, this is a very energetic show and Freddie in top shape. This is for all Queen crazy fans all over the world! ldb Enjoy people |

Just got this one from dime. Thanks for uploading it here. The uploader on dime has done many fantastic uploads over the years on dime. This RLR collection seems to be really great aswell. I hope we get the Frejus '86 recording too. An upgrade for that show would also be awesome:-) Upgrades like this are the reason I like this hobby so much:-) |

Thanks for the torrent! |
Gregsynth 11.04.2012 21:45 |
Great share! Thanks! Sadly, this has the absolute worst version of Staying Power (for the full version). After looking through this show in the superior quality, this is probably the weakest Hot Space show (yes even the Japan ones with Freddie's tired voice are better). |
The Real Wizard 11.04.2012 22:47 |
This is what Queen collecting is all about ! A brilliant upgrade. Can't wait to listen to this one in full. |
Gregsynth 11.04.2012 22:52 |
The sound is great! It's about a B+/A- rating going off the Queenliveca sound rating scale! It includes the opening act (Bow Wow Wow), and is musically complete. There's some minor tape warp on "We Are The Champions," but other than that, there's nothing wrong with the recording. The improv section on Another One Bites The Dust is hilarious (Freddie says "Bite The Dick" a few times)! |
The Real Wizard 11.04.2012 23:17 |
Ha, awesome. |
Gaabiizz 11.04.2012 23:28 |
Great , Thanks for Sharing Is new source? or ancient source it in better quality? |
The Real Wizard 11.04.2012 23:29 |
This is a second audience source, not a lower gen copy of the existing source. |
Gregsynth 11.04.2012 23:33 |
It's a new source! There's very little tape hiss, and the crowd is more prominent in the mix! The music and vocals are also higher in the mix (compared with the older version). It sounds like this tape was in front of the speakers, and had very enthusiastic fans around him! The crowd doesn't obstruct the music at all, so it's awesome! It's also less distant-sounding than the previous source! |

Just a stupid question - DOES this torrent include the bow wow wow recording ? It's not clear from the description |
Gregsynth 12.04.2012 00:55 |
Yep! It includes the Opening Band stuff! |

Upon listening - this show is fantastic. Even without Somebody To Love and Liar, it's easily as good as the first night. I've always rated the European Hot Space tour highly, and this show just reinforces that. Recommended listening for anyone who enjoys the live stuff. |

I would say they're not yet in the absolute top shape of May - June 1982 but still, it's an amazing show. Freddie was surely at his creative peak on stage, doing lots of variations/improvisations and connecting in a brilliant way with the audience. It's great to hear the audience reaction after Freddie does that improv and says: try that"(I believe before CLTCL).. They don't even try but laugh in admiration:-) It's the kind of show that's not completely polished but really rocking and energetic, just as a rock show should be! |
pittrek 27.04.2012 14:20 |
Was anybody able to identify the Bow Wow Wow songs ? I don't know what's song 1 and the first song on track 6 |
The Real Wizard 27.04.2012 16:31 |
It seems the bootleg label figured it out.. link If they're right, this is the first useful thing Breakdown has done in years. |

The Real Wizard wrote: It seems the bootleg label figured it out.. link If they're right, this is the first useful thing Breakdown has done in years.I have no idea if they didn't change the order of the songs, but this torrent includes these songs : Track 01 - [unknown] Track 02 - Cowboy Track 03 - Go Wild In The Country Track 04 - Golly! Golly! Go Buddy! Track 05 - Radio G String Sinner! Sinner! Sinner! I Want Candy Elimination Dancing Track 06 - [unknown] Louise Quatorze C30 C60 C90 Go! The tracklist according to the bootleg company should be Joy Of Eating Raw Flash See Jungle (Jungle Boy) Go Wild In The Country Golly! Golly! Go Buddy Chihuahua Sinner! Sinner! Sinner! I Want Candy I'm a TV Savage Your Cassette Pet Louis Quatorze C30 - C60 - C90 Go! Joy Of Eating Raw Flash is an instrumental, track 01 here is much faster and has lyrics, track 02 is definitely cowbow and not Jungle Boy, track 05 begins definitely with Radio G String and not Chuhuaha and ends with Elimination Dancing, not TV Savage. The last missing track COULD be "Your Cassette Pet", I can't find the track on youtube so I can't compare it |
pittrek 28.04.2012 03:22 |
OK, track 01 is Giant Sized Baby Thing |
