Even though Adam Lambert’s July 7 concert with Queen at Sonisphere was cancelled, he will play the part of the band’s lead singer for at least four shows in 2012.
Queen’s Roger Taylor says Lambert will play with the band, which also includes original member Brian May, on June 30 in Kiev, another Kiev show where Queen and Elton John will share the bill, and two July shows at the Hammersmith Apollo in London in July. Taylor told Billboard.com that the London shows will provide an “alternative...for some of the people who had bought tickets” to Sonisphere.
Lambert will sing the songs made famous by Freddie Mercury, who died in 1991. Lambert and Queen became fast friends after Lambert performed with the band on “American Idol” in 2009. "Adam... of course he has this unbelievable range, like Freddie (Mercury) had range,” Taylor told Billboard. “Adam can really cover it. He's an extraordinary singer and a real talent. I feel he fits into our sort of theatricality."
Lambert’s new album, “Trespassing,” comes out May 15. link
so, they have swapped Knebworth for two Hammersmith dates. so, 60,000 for about 6,000.
I actually think this is much better. much better for the audience. I wonder if they are going to be warm up shows for something bigger.

Great , but all fans not enter in hammersmith
Knebworth 120.000 maximum
Hammersmith 5.000 maximum
you're a hoot Yoda, really, are you.
care to add the link for the online translator you used that failed to generate "hammersmith has insufficicent capacity"
Adam Lambert and Queen July 11 and 12! Don't all rush out at once to get your tickets! But if you want tickets, better get them quickly. The GLAMBERTS are a force to be reckoned with when it comes to ticket buying. We've already booked all the hotels in the area :)
Out of curiosity, is it your sense in the Lambert fan community that people are buying tickets to see both shows, or just one or the other? I know Adam's fans often do things in multiples as a demonstration of loyalty and support.
Just did a little research. In addition to selling out all U.S. venues, he sold out shows in New Zealand, Finland, Australia, four shows in Japan and all shows in the UK.
So no idea how many would be making the trip? It's just kind of fascinating me to imagine Queen, massive British legend that they are, doing small shows for an audience dominated by fans of their guest singer, in England. I'm imagining it like Adam Lambert's back up band almost.
GF. Really have no idea of the number of Glamberts but queen fans will be fine because they are giving first priority to Sonisphere ticket holders and queen fans.
I wonder if Sonisphere will give Queen access to the customer mailing list? Strictly speaking that would be against terms if people asked not to be contacted by other parties. Maybe they will get the message out via sonisphere themselves. It will only be a presale link after all. I'll be down the front!
What illusion? That an alien from the Planet Fierce walks amongst mere mortals? LOL! That is Adam standing in his infinity pool at his home in Los Angeles.
