ROCK group Queen are looking for set list suggestions for Knebworth ahead of their headline appearance at the 2012 Sonisphere Festival.
Sonisphere 2012
Remaining original band members Brian May and Roger Taylor have asked fans to request songs they want to hear when Queen make an emotional return to Knebworth Park on Saturday, July 7 with American singer-songwriter Adam Lambert.
Posting on Queen website link, they issued a joint message saying: “To anyone out there with regards to Knebworth...
“It would be great to have an idea on the songs you would most like to hear us play.”
So if you want the band to play Radio Ga Ga, Somebody To Love, One Vision, Innuendo, Hammer to Fall, Under Pressure, Bohemian Rhapsody, I Want To Break Free, Another One Bites The Dust, Flash or something more obscure like Stone Cold Crazy or Dragon Attack, email nickw@outsideline.co.uk with your suggestions, with the subject line ‘Knebworth Set List 2012’.
Former American Idol runner-up Lambert will take on singing duties at Knebworth, having joined Queen at last year’s MTV Europe Music Awards in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
Then the group played an eight-minute three-song medley of hits including The Show Must Go On, We Will Rock You and We Are The Champions.
That showstopping performance prompted Sonisphere festival supremo Stuart Galbraith to exclusively book Queen for July’s festival.
It will be one of only two dates in the world this year, the other taking place in Moscow’s Olympic Arena a week before Sonisphere on June 30.
The rock legends will roll into the Hertfordshire stately home with the international touring festival almost 26 years after first playing the outdoor venue as the final leg of the triumphant Magic Tour.
The group’s August 9, 1986 date at Knebworth in front of more than 125,000 fans turned out to be the last concert featuring frontman Freddie Mercury, who died in 1991.
Glam rockers Kiss and Faith No More will headline the other two nights of this year’s fourth Sonisphere spectacular.
The weekend line-up also includes Evanescence, The Darkness, Refused, Marilyn Manson, Cypress Hill, Mastodon and Incubus.
There are still ‘special guest’ slots to be filled under both Friday night main stage headliners Kiss and comedian Tim Minchin on the Saturn second stage on the Saturday.
Tickets for the three-day music festival are on sale via the Sonisphere website.

I would love to hear In The lap Gods (revisited). the same way it was played in 86, with all that people singing along. Plus I think Adam could really nail Seven Seas of Rhye with his high note.
