I'm new. Not sure if this has been discussed before. What is your favourite B-side? There are a few to choose from. I really like I Go Crazy and Hijack My Heart. |

Brian's "I Go Crazy" is very interesting, really should have made the album (if the others didn't hate it)... I really like the b-sides of the "Miracle" era, "My life has been saved" & "Stealin'" but for purely sentimental reasons my vote goes to Roger's "A Human Body"...welcome to the fora |

If Mad The Swine counts as a B-Side it would be that. If not, Soul Brother. |

Stealin' |

Hang on in there and I go crazy, love soul brother too. |
The Real Wizard 15.03.2012 10:11 |
Most of these B-sides are very average songs. See What A Fool I've Been and Soul Brother are great tracks, but far too spoofy to be taken seriously. Hang On In There is the only one that could've been good enough to actually be an album. |

TEAR IT UP, DRAGON ATTACK, HANG ON IN THERE, IM IN LOVE WITH MY CAR |
1sharppencil 15.03.2012 11:30 |
well, we are talking about non-album B-sides here! Hang on in there was on the miracle cd, so it's kinda an album track... |
Flash Jazz 15.03.2012 11:42 |
I would say 1: A Human Body 2: Soul Brother 3: Lost Opportunity I disagree with Wizard however, I think Soul Brother is definitely good enough to be on Hot Space. Overall I think the B-sides are a very fun batch of songs to listen to. |

In order: - I go Crazy ( I still don't understand WHY they didn't put in The Works Album...only 9 songs) - Hijack My Heart - Soul Brother ( If¨"cool cat" was in Hot Space Album...) - Hang On In There - Human Body |

In fact, we once had a thread here where we discussed alternative album track listings. For Hot Space, I scrapped Body Language, moved Cool Cat to side A, added Soul Brother to side B, and swapped the sides. That likely would've made a pretty major difference in Queen's career in the US. But, as always, hindsight is 20/20. |

Does it have to be a non album track b-side? If so, my favourite is: soul brother If I have to choose from any b-side my favourite would be: The b-side to Tie Your Mother Down. Europe / UK : You and I Other markets: Drowse Great great tracks. I prefer them instead of Tie Your Mother Down wich is a very boring track IMHO. |

Body Language was a hit, but with the singles-buying crowd. The song made most Queen fans embarrassed to be Queen fans. Were you around in 1982 to experience that? I know plenty of people who were. Just imagine - the band who wrote Queen II and ANATO releasing gay club music just 7 years later. Releasing Calling All Girls as a single was likely a move to appease Roger. It was the first time one of his songs was released as a single. Las Palabras is a great tune, but it wouldn't have been a big hit like Under Pressure. The album was a bust. After dressing up as women two years later in Break Free, their career in the US was done. |

The Real Wizard wrote: After dressing up as women two years later in Break Free, their career in the US was done.It must be a cultural thing. The I Want To Break Free video was one of their greatest from a UK point of view. Not only the dressing up as women part, but doing it as a send up of Coronation Street. The problem may be that it loses something in countries with no exposure to Coronation Street. And it was all done with tongue firmly in cheek, there can't be anyone that took it seriously surely? (Mind you Roger as a schoolgirl was a bit too convincing at times...) |
The Real Wizard 25.03.2012 23:13 |
The average American didn't know a UK soap opera. In binary thinking, men dressing up as women is an absolute no go, full stop. |
