Just impulse-bought a second-hand electric guitar and looking to kick off a short-lived hobby as a bad guitarist. So which songs do you suggest I can begin to annoy the neighbours with?
Let's see...
Crazy Little Thing and Need Your Loving are very easy if you just want to learn the acoustic parts.
Jesus should be pretty easy once you get the feel for playing guitar. Actually it depends, some people pick up bar chords (which it prominently uses) faster than others. The guitar solo is harder, but still pretty easy by May solo standards.
Another One Bites The Dust is basically the same riff throughout and the occasional high part which shouldn't take too long to figure out.
Don't Stop Me Now has very little guitar, only the solo, which isn't too tricky, and a couple of fills over the following chorus.
Lol um.. Jealousy doesn't really count, because that's only that recurring acoustic part which lasts about 10 seconds each time :P But it's very easy.
Sheer Heart Attack is a fast song but pretty easy.
These Are The Days Of Our Lives can be sort of tricky at parts, but it's a nice slow song and easy enough to learn and keep up with. Too Much Love Will Kill You is fairly easy as well for the same reason (first Queen song I could play the solo of properly).
We Will Rock You is easy enough, since it's just a single note over the last chorus and then the solo.
Radio Ga Ga has pretty sparse use of guitar, so that's an easy one as well.
You could try some of the songs included in the Rock And Roll Medley too, Big Spender and Jailhouse Rock are pretty simple.
Their hardest songs to play, I've found at least, are The Invisible Man and Scandal, just because of parts being ridiculously fast, and Scandal's guitar being mixed pretty low at times doesn't help either. Long Away is also much trickier than it sounds.
Good luck!
First ones i learned:
39' (though u may not have a 12 string guitar it's a chordal song)
Love of My Life [live] (difficult but a proven challenge if you're beginning, + good introduction to chords)
all the early stuff had some huge variations as they were not content to repeat themselves (sometimes even in the following measure)
Son And Daughter seems like it'd be easy (excepting the solo)
Is this the world we created
^^ CLTCL is prob the first most people learn
I also learned (at least i think i'm playing it properly)
Some Day One Day... easy root 2 bar chords alternatively played; solo... not so easy
then again... i'm mainly a bassist.
PS: John. I know you're not using your basses... May i please set an offer of $20 and a pitcher of beer (on me)... for one of your LEAST played basses.
Thank you. :)
I Want It All:
Only 5 or 6 chords to play and sounds HUGE.
Tie Your Mother Down is also easy to play and a great rocker.
I'm In Love With My Car:
Easy, 4 basic chords
'39, very good practise for chord changes but is easy to play as well as soon you found the right rhythem
One Vision:
Slightly more difficult, the right attack and rhythem is essential but chords are basic as well.
Hammer To Fall:
Also not that complicated, same as One Vision
I Want To Break Free is relatively easy, the only slightly difficult part is the solo. Since it was originally played on synth, the finger positioning is a bit awkward at first.
If you're a beginner - no Queen song is easy to play.
Crazy Little Thing Called Love is the closest thing to a basic chord strummer. I'm In Love With My Car and Drowse are in the same league, minus the lead parts of course. I Want It All isn't too bad either, although some of the chord changes are bit quicker. If you know all the major and minor chords, then you should be able to get through these ones.
On electric, the Brown Sugar riff is in plenty of Queen songs, like One Vision, We Will Rock You, Headlong, Hammer To Fall.

First finger is barred over the second fret, and an octave up on 14 if it's WWRY. Same thing in the A Kind Of Magic solo.
That's a good place to start, methinks. That riff is a cornerstone of rock guitar. Lots of Stones and Ozzy songs use it, All Right Now by Free, and plenty more.
When I first learned to play guitar, the easiest were:
Crazy Little Thing Called Love (hands down)
'39
Tie Your Mother Down
Save Me
I Want To Break Free
The Show Must Go On
Hardest (that I've tried):
Love of My Life
Bohemian Rhapsody
We Are The Champions
Killer Queen
Keep Yourself Alive
Somebody To Love
The Miracle
