Well this is my attempt for a torrent, so be nice please :-) As the title says, this is the 1 hour long 1080i recording of the edited HDTV broadcast of the Kharkiv 2008 gig |
thefallenqueen 09.02.2012 14:11 |
Thanks a lot for this one... |
Rela 09.02.2012 15:10 |
Thank you! awesome torrent x) |
bokkepoot 09.02.2012 15:17 |
Thanks for sharing Pittrek, really nice torrent for the collection. |
Dodger Taylor 09.02.2012 15:30 |
Is this not Official? |
pittrek 09.02.2012 15:33 |
Good question. There was no official HD release of this gig, plus the official DVD is edited differently + overdubbed. I personally would keep it here, but if the mod says it should go away, it will. |
Dodger Taylor 09.02.2012 15:35 |
I dont have a problem with it Pittrek, just wondered thats all mate. You are usually spot on with everything :) |

Thank you very much! |

OK guys I have now changed the settings so only 5 people can be connected directly to me so that theoretically the upload should be faster |
Vali 11.02.2012 02:11 |
thanks a lot for this one Peter ! |

Many thanks!! |

Is there a full length HD version of this show rather than just the 1 hour? Also I appear to already have another version of this which is filename "Queen and Paul Rodgers-Let the Cosmos Rock!.ts" and is 7.63GB in size (still HD 1 hour version of the concert) with 384kpbs DD5.1 audio. I downloaded this from a torrent last week. I could have sworn I found it on Queezone or following links from Queenzone, but I cannot for the life of me find where I got it from now. It's a fantastic concert with great HD picture quality, hence wanting the entire 2.5 hours. |

The upload here is the same show as the .ts file you downloaded last week. Peter has simply messed with it to make it more compatible for people to play. |
OwenSmith 11.02.2012 14:18 |
Yeah I did have problems playing the .ts file, I can't serve it by DLNA over my network. I ended up having to FTP it onto my Humax HDR Fox T2 (Freeview+ HD box) and play it locally from the hard disc there. Even then I can't rewind/ffwd or anything so it's a pain, and there are some glitches in the audio (maybe a dozen or so). The .mkv file will be a lot more convenient, I'll be able to serve it by DLNA over my network to my Oppo BDP-95EU blu ray player or to the HDR Fox T2 and rewind/ffwd and skip backwards/forwards will work. I wonder why the .mkv file is 1GB smaller though. Is it really that much more efficient a container? Anyway I thoroughly recommend this video, assuming it's the same as the .ts I have. Picture quality is fantastic, audio is OK (DD5.1 at 384kbps, disappointingly low bit rate but gets away with it) and it looks like a really great concert. I'm downloading the bootleg DVD of the entire 2.5 hours as well. |
pittrek 11.02.2012 14:59 |
The original file appears to have messed up timecode, that's one of the reasons why I reencoded it for myself. And yes, the source for this mkv file is the ts file from the russian tracker. Video is re-encoded to x264, audio is the same |

The file size I have is 8,199,828,868 bytes and the hash is: 03D752D2CAA3405BC8FD972391CA5C9C0029ADDB and the trackers listed on the torrent are: link link link The hash and/or filesize should at least resolve firmly whether you started from the same file as I have or yet another variant. |

By the way, your torrent doesn't look very healthy on seeds yet. I see 1 seed and 72 peers, that's an appalling seed/peer ratio. Has no-one downloaded the complete file from Pittrek yet? |
OwenSmith 11.02.2012 19:37 |
Well now there are zero seeds and I have 45.5% of the file. All that's happening is that some of the peers are uploading bits from me, but they don't appear to have anything I don't as the availability is 45.5%. This isn't going to move forward unless someone seeds it again. There are 42 peers waiting. |
flash00. 12.02.2012 01:04 |
Stuck on 45% please seeeeeeeeeed lol cheers |
pittrek 12.02.2012 03:39 |
If I read any more comments requesting seeding I stop seeding permanently. I am doing what I can with my crappy connection, especially my crappy upload speed |
OwenSmith 12.02.2012 03:56 |
Out of interest what is your upload speed? |
pittrek 12.02.2012 05:43 |
officially 1 Megabit, realistically around 110 kBps |
OwenSmith 12.02.2012 07:39 |
pittrek wrote: officially 1 Megabit, realistically around 110 kBpsIf you mean 110 K bytes per second, then you're doing well for 1 megabit. I have 1 megabit uplink, and uTorrent is pretty much maxing it out when it reports around 105kB/s uplink. The confusion between bytes and bits per second is a pain in the neck. It's a shame Byte and Bit both start with a 'B'. |
earwig 13.02.2012 16:25 |
Thanks for this share :-) |
OwenSmith 14.02.2012 02:45 |
There were 11 seeds for this at one point at the weekend, now there are zero and 40 peers trying to download. I'm stuck on 92.5%. Can some of the people that downloaded this start seeding again please (not Pittrek, he did his bit with the initial seeding). |
pittrek 14.02.2012 10:13 |
New seeders should appear in a few hours |
OwenSmith 14.02.2012 14:58 |
Thanks, there are now 32 seeders and 14 peers, much healthier. It finished downloading during the day and now I am seeding. I haven't had chance to play this copy yet, I played the 2.5 hour bootleg DVD of the entire concert last night. It's clear from the DVD compared to the previous hidef copy that the camera shots are mostly (all?) different between the TV broadcast and the HD footage. I also find it very odd listening to The Show Must Go On in the wrong key. It makes it sound slow as well, although I believe the tempo is correct. Just a mental thing. I haven't checked the correct key but off the top of my head I'd say they've transposed down 2 tones, probably so Paul Rodgers can sing the high notes. |
OwenSmith 14.02.2012 19:42 |
The subject for this torrent says it is 1080i (as in "Life Must Go On 1080i mkv"). But when I play this download in VLC it says the frame rate is 25Hz, this normally means progressive scan ie. 1080p25. The original .ts that Pittrek started from was 50Hz (assuming it is the same as what I have), so during re-encoding the video it looks like this has been de-interlaced. I've got nothing against this (assuming the software did it properly), it's just not what I was expecting given the subject of the thread. I haven't had chance to play the two versions and compare them yet. |
pittrek 15.02.2012 00:44 |
"But when I play this download in VLC it says the frame rate is 25Hz, this normally means progressive scan ie. 1080p25."No. The original .ts that Pittrek started from was 50Hz (assuming it is the same as what I have), so during re-encoding the video it looks like this has been de-interlaced.I didn't intentionally de-interlaced it, I kept it interlaced in the settings. So unless there's a bug in Handbrake which makes automatic deinterlacing it should still be interlaced. BTW if I remember correctly it appeared interlaced when I was watching it via VLC, but I can check when I come home |
OwenSmith 15.02.2012 04:42 |
It could be a bug in VLC simply reporting the wrong thing. VLC is one of the less stable and reliable bits of software around. EDIT: If I force VLC to de-interlace on playback the video goes all juddery. |
pittrek 15.02.2012 12:02 |
Well I'm checking it and the video looks interlaced to me. Strange. Do you have any software which will tell you definitely if it's interlaced or not ? |
4 x Vision 15.02.2012 14:59 |
thanks Pittrek |
OwenSmith 15.02.2012 16:54 |
pittrek wrote:Do you have any software which will tell you definitely if it's interlaced or not ?Not to hand no. All I know is that in VLC selecting Tools -> Codec Information says "Frame rate: 25" whereas for the original .ts it says "Frame rate: 50". My Freeview HD box won't tell me either. I agree that something looks a bit interlaced about it watching it, but if I tell VLC to forcibly de-interlace it the playback goes all juddery. What is needed is some mkv diagnostic tools. There must be some around somewhere. |
