will be in the same (crappy) quality as Wembley, right? |
And91 10.01.2012 18:14 |
Yes. Probably they used the same cameras. |
inu-liger 10.01.2012 22:33 |
Good old 1980's videotape cameras! |
queen79luca 11.01.2012 02:35 |
Yes, same as first night! |
CosmosTales 11.01.2012 03:13 |
Wembley crappy quality? Serious? |
Bo Rhap 11.01.2012 05:11 |
According to QPL it wasnt recorded.Or if it was it was recorded over.So there's no point in continuing this thread. If they had it in the vaults,it would have been on sale, well and truly, before now. With all the bells and whistles on it too. |
e-man 11.01.2012 06:06 |
what they should do, seeing as how they have the multitracks for the gig, is to release it on blu ray audio and stick on whatever footage they have, both pro shot and audience sourced. the audio will be superb, so I'll take any visuals they've got, as long as as they make it clear that it is a mix of different sources |
Doga 11.01.2012 06:53 |
i know QP said they didn't have the gig in their vaults. And i really think they haven't the video, is just a ''if they have''. But when i started the thread i was thinking in the quality of the Second night of Wembley, Brian said that he don't want to recored the Knebworth gig so maybe they used the same cameras (less quality, less angles) than in First Night. If they recorded the gig in the same poor quality like the first night is a great excuse for don't release the gig. Brian admited that the the first night at Wembley is good only for a bonus of the main thing. And yes, for the fans is different, i enjoyed the first night and i will enjoy the Knbworth gig if is released, but QP has a global market not only fans. Thanks to God we have Budapest. |

I really don't give a hoot about Knobworth. There already are two Magic Tour gigs released officially, so why release yet another? (yes, yes, I know, their last concert ... so what?) We need something from the 1970s. |
Ivo-1976 12.01.2012 04:13 |
Re-release a remastered Budapest en include Knebworth Audio as a bonus. And Knebworth Video if available. It would be a nice final Magic Tour release. However, i can't see it happen because Wembley is already out there and most people won't buy multiple shows from the same tour. |
pittrek 12.01.2012 05:43 |
There were 2 camera teams in Knebworth, the first one was "broadcasting" the video to the giant screens, the second camera team was working for DoRo. The DoRo footage still DOES EXIST, you have even seen it in many many documentaries |
Doga 12.01.2012 12:22 |
Right! the snippets of the sea of hands from Radio Ga-Ga and God Save The Queen. Also the complete Is This The World We Created as we all saw in Magic Years. But the DoRo team had only two cameras that night? Or they had more? I think this thread is going on a little offtopic, and only want to know if they recorded Knebworth in the same way as Wembley (the first night, no less) Anyway, between Knebworth and Budapest i choose Budapest, even if they were fimed in the same quality. Both are strong gigs, Knebworth crowd was better, but the gig of Budapest was historical, much more important than Knebworth and Wembley, i think. Wembley was a favourite of Brian (and maybe Freddie) and a more mediatic event, so the event became in their iconic performance. |

flu wrote: I think this thread is going on a little offtopic, and only want to know if they recorded Knebworth in the same way as Wembley (the first night, no less) No. Wembley was shot on video, Knebworth was shot on film |
MercurialFreddie 15.01.2012 10:34 |
Thanks Pittrek for clarifying that one ! |
Doga 15.01.2012 11:24 |
Yeah! Thank you very much! But only the cameras of DoRo team record in film, no? Or the ones for the gigant screen are also film cameras? Can a camera feed the screen and record in film at the same time? Thanks in advance! |
Zodiacal_light 15.01.2012 14:47 |
There was a cameraman right in front of me on the left hand side of the stage. Whether that was just for the screen who knows. |
drmurph 15.01.2012 15:14 |
I've only been visiting these forums for about a year but I'd a good idea this may have come up before. So I found this old thread which may answer some of your questions. link It's pretty clear there is no footage of the whole concert. Bummer. |
emrabt 16.01.2012 08:43 |

Whether that was just for the screen who knows. ================== I do, at the front left of the stage is one of the 2 (or 3) Doro cameras; slightly further back would have been the screen feed camera. Or it could have been the other way around, I forget, I worked it out once. |

I dunno. Am I the only one who feels pity/depression when he sees people in the throes of denial? |
Biggzy10 17.01.2012 16:54 |
Any live concert can be remastered to look beautifully. If they took the time to release the concert, im sure it would be in best quality possible... which would probably be in 1080p. |
tomchristie22 17.01.2012 18:32 |
If they took the time to release the nonexistant concert footage, it would probably look excellent, I agree. But even if it did exist, they wouldn't do so. Simple |
Biggzy10 17.01.2012 19:50 |
I think it's long over due for a new live album. You don't think they would release a 70's concert this year? |

Yeah! Complete Rainbow could be ace, this, or Hammy 79 |

I think GT means YES to a new live release. Rereleasing the same old stuff doesn't really constitute a "good year" by any stretch of the imagination. So either expanded editions (live killers/live magic) or hopefully something unreleased, hey we can always hope for all the above, maybe not too much to hope for? But the suspense is killing me. |

My predictions.. Audio, for sure: Live Killers - with Paris 79 and/or Kampuchea bonus disc(s) Live Magic - with Knebworth 86 bonus disc Audio, at least one of these: Rainbow 74 Hyde Park 76 Earls Court 77 DVD: Rainbow 74 Possibly multi-night compilations where applicable. 345 days from now, we'll see how accurate I was ! |
Kevinrm15 23.01.2012 08:51 |
Not a bad prediction. But what about Hammersmith 75 for DVD? We all know it was readied for a DVD release a few years back. Now would be a great time to get it out! |
Doga 23.01.2012 11:39 |
if is only a audio release (like Knebworth), how about Wembley Arena 1980? I think those three shows were fantastic, and i read the band recorded it all. |

Sorry, was a mistake, not 1980, 1978. The three last nights of the NOTW tour at Wembley Arena |
Kevinrm15 23.01.2012 12:45 |
The 78 Wembley shows were recorded for a live album that never happened. I think everyone agrees that the shows should be released now! |
