If Roger finally toured this year, how would you like the set list to be? Mine's would be like this (in no particular order):
- We Will Rock You
- No Violins
- Tenement Funster
- Rock It
- Man On Fire
- Happiness
- Strange Frontier
- Heaven For Everyone
- Pressure On
- Fat Bottomed Girls
- Drowse
- A Human Body
- I Cry For You
- Life Changes
- Final Destination (1994 Version)
- Where Are You Now
- Believe In Yourself
- A Nation Of Haircuts
- Everybody Hurts Sometime
- Laugh Or Cry
- I'm In Love With My Car
******************************************
But on the other hand, I think that something like this would be closer to reality (not including the new album tracks):
- We Will Rock You
- Rock It
- Man On Fire
- I Want To Break Free
- Tenement Funster
- Happiness
- Strange Frontier
- Under Pressure
- Heaven For Everyone
- Pressure On
- Say It's Not True
- These Are The Days Of Our Lives
- Ride The Wild Wind
- Fat Bottomed Girls
- Cosmos Rocks
- The Unblinking Eye
- Heroes
- A Kind Of Magic
- The Show Must Go On
- I'm In Love With My Car
- Radio Ga Ga
The Queen Extravaganza wants a word with you...
Kinda funny story... last summer my wife tells me she saw an ad in the newspaper that Roger Taylor was coming to town (Toronto) this weekend opening for the Guess Who.
After my eyes bugged out a bit - I went online and couldn't find anything about Roger Taylor being on tour so I finally found the ad she was referring to and.... it was Paul Rodgers.
For setlist, I would go with something like...
Interlude in Constantiople (tape intro)
Rock It
Rock N Roll (led zep)
No Violins
A Kind of Magic
Tenement Funster
Ride The Wild Wind
These Are The Days Of Our Lives
Strange Frontier
The Unblinking Eye
Dear Mr Murdoch
Let's Get Crazy
Drum Solo
Sheer Heart Attack
Resurrection (Brian May song)
Man On Fire

I'm In Love With My Car
a couple cover songs to finish things off
I'd love to hear songs like Drowse, fight from the inside, hijack my heart, some of the songs I've not heard live.
As well as some great solo songs like final destination (the Cross version...) foreign sand, and a good spread from all the albums, no violins, future management, man on fire, strange frontier, I cry for you, happiness, revelation, touch the sky, surrender. Of course he will need some of his Queen standards, Radio Ga Ga, these are the days of our lives, heaven for everyone (Cross standard?), a kind of magic...etc.
I'd probably prefer to see Brian doing his Queen stuff rather than Roger. In fact what would be best is a stripped down band with both of them (please come back John) doing acoustic/simple versions of their input to the Queen catalogue telling stories and playing a few songs together. Laid back, in theatres a bit like the guys from Spinal tap did a few years back. They could revisit some of their favourite songs from the back catalogue, Long away, Some day, one day, Sleeping on the sidewalk, Leaving home... the list could go on and on...
(c'mon John that would be great wouldn't it?)
I would love to seen another RT show. Ironically enough despite me wanting Queen to be a little less retrospective, I just hope with RT it's more of a career retrospective type show. With the two solo tours he's done the set lists were basically 90% of the new album, Rock and Roll, and a few Queen tracks (Break Free, We Will Rock You, Ga Ga, Magic, Car, and/or Tenement Funster)
I would like to see about 50% of a new album and then draw a few songs from each of his albums...
I can think of thousands of things less interesting than a RMT solo tour.A George Michael solo tour,a corned beef sandwich and a pint of milk among them !

I don't know, man... a corned beef sandwich is pretty damn interesting.
Seeing him eat one... again... like an old re-run.
