QUEEN lead guitarist Brian May is looking at the possibility of a tour with drummer Roger Taylor "I hesitate to say this, but it may happen," he said. "As soon as we appeared with Adam Lambert at the VMAs, the phone started ringing and it hasn't stopped since. There are an awful lot of people out there who would like to see that package, so we may do something. But I'm not going to say what it might be!" Brian, now aged 64, said he still found it hard to believe Queen had reached the 40 year milestone. He said: "It's amazing, I don't know where it goes, all sorts of scrapes have happened. But what's amazing is that for a band that's been without its singer for 20 years, we've been more active than ever." Brian said a follow-up to stage hit We Will Rock You was also waiting in the wings. He said: "Ben Elton has written a sequel, which I think is magnificent. I guess what we don't have is the time and the right moment to put it on yet, because We Will Rock You takes up a lot of our time, we're a victim of our own success." Oh God no. If they want to do something with a gay singer, they can use George Michael - he can at least sing |
silver_salmon 02.01.2012 09:42 |
ha ha ha ha totally Agree! Adam Lambert..is a singer?. Why don't they call to Tim Staffell and reunite Smile for a gentle farewell from music. |
CERATOPHRYS 02.01.2012 10:02 |
Adam Lambert...I can't believe it...More than enough with the MTV EMA AWARDS. George Michael would be a really nice choice. He is a great singer. |
bigV 02.01.2012 10:46 |
Oh, God... No! No! No! No! No! V. |
tomchristie22 02.01.2012 15:56 |
I doubt that Tim Staffel would want to be in the public eye really, but a last Smile reunion of some description would be amazing. Almost anything but Adam Lambert or Lady Ga Ga would be good actually. |
MadTheSwine73 02.01.2012 16:27 |
Lady Gaga, I wouldn't mind, but as for Adam Lambert, I'd rather not see him with Brian or Roger ever again. |
Fireplace 02.01.2012 17:42 |
Tim bowed out 40 years ago and has had no regrets whatsoever, but he'd be just about the only singer I'd like to see with yet another ressurected Queen+. A little less gloss and a bit more substance please. |
Jimmy Dean 02.01.2012 23:06 |
I'd rather see that guy Marc Martel up front with Brian and Roger... may be slightly eerie - but it's the closest thing to the real thing... I'm sure if they did that, they would sell out major venues... Besides, they wouldn't be the first band to sport a replica --> AC/DC did just fine with Brian Johnson, not really a replacement for Bon Scott, but he did the job nicely. |
inu-liger 03.01.2012 00:28 |
Dear god NO. I could easily deal with Lady Gaga, Tom Chaplin or even Marc Martel, heck even Utada Hikaru for crying out loud! But Adam Lambert......FUCK THAT SHIT |
philip storey 03.01.2012 04:44 |
I think that Paul Rodgers,John,Brian,Roger would be the best choice. No Lady Ga Ga, Adam Lambert or George Michael, thank you !Get John back onboard and no more greatest hits tours, give us some of the old tunes. |
tomchristie22 03.01.2012 05:01 |
AC/DC weren't good to begin with. And I seriously doubt John will ever play at another Queen show. |
Back2TheLight 03.01.2012 05:18 |
I remember hearing about the Queen and PR tour back in '04 sometime, and raised an eyebrow about it, but thought that it just might work. Saw them in '06 in San Diego, and it was just on fire! With Adam Lambert...not a snowball's chance in hell that I'd see them with him. Or Lady gaga. George Michael...great singer, could easily sing most of Freddie's tunes, but seriously...can you see him up there singing 'Tie Your Mother down'? Yeah...neither could I. As much as we'd all love to see John come back, he's done, he's over it. It sucks, but what can we do? |
Arnaldo "Ogre-" Silveira 03.01.2012 07:45 |
Great news! I am absolutely excited that they are playing again, no matter how. At this point, anything they still do is a great bonus to me. I am not quite a fan of Adam, but I trust the guys (I do!). I am so much of a fan that I even like most of their eventual collaborations. I would go see them with a sheep singing or a childrens choir if necessary. Of course I would love to see just Brian and Roger (if possible with John), but that seems not to be in the cards. So, I just adore to see them playing and I am very happy that they are still active. Shoot me :) Cheers, Ogre- |

With a singer that does justice to the songs - Yes! Very Please! With this Lambert guy - Nope, i won't bother. Why not do a Tour with different singers. For rocky songs, ballads and the ones that have more soul to ut. Take 2 or 3 good ones, and let Brian and Roger sing a few too. Form a super band and bow out in style! |
A Word In Your Ear 03.01.2012 08:43 |
I wouldn't bank your hopes up too much on what Brian Says, He also said, Freddie was healthy, Queen were no more & last year he said there would be a bonus disc of worthwhile unheard stuff on all the re-released albums. If a tour or few dates happen, then they happen!! |
ralle 03.01.2012 09:02 |
John does not come back anymore. He retired in 1999 - not 1997. . |
Micrówave 03.01.2012 12:35 |
Why the $#@! would Adam Lambert or Lady Gaga tour with a couple of aged rockers? They'd make a crapload more money performing their own material. |
dsmeer 03.01.2012 13:05 |
Adam Lambert has own material ???? LOL This guy is a joke. I would love to see Brian & Roger one more time, but NEVER with Adam Lambert . I would rather treasure my memories. |

"the phone started ringing and it hasn't stopped since" It's nice to see QPL has a complaints line. Anyone want to give me the number? "Ben Elton has written a sequel, which I think is magnificent" It had better not be as retarded as WWRY. |
philip storey 03.01.2012 14:24 |
Give John a ring for christs sake ,offer him some serious money, i mean whats better than being in a rock band ! Retirement ! You can be a long time retired and old ! |
GratefulFan 03.01.2012 14:49 |
Thank you for calling the QPL complaints line. Your call is important to us. Press 1 to request a WWRY sequel. Re-press 2 four times to re-request re-re-re-releases. Turn up the volume on your phone and press 3 for 14 seconds for Adam Lambert. Press 489583*899 pound 1 for interesting bonus material. Press the Greek symbol for Omega to request an anthology box set. Press 6 to give up. Press 9 to repeat all these options except number 4. |
the dude 1366 03.01.2012 15:57 |
I'm not a fan of Adam Lambert, but it would be interesting to see how many people complaining on here would be first in line to see this. |
Scofflaw 03.01.2012 18:35 |
I'd like to see them tour with Marc Martel. Before the EMAs I might have thought Adam would be a decent choice, but he butchered TSMGO and WWRY, so not interested anymore. |
rubens 03.01.2012 18:50 |
Bring back Paul Rodgers. Simple as that. |

Q+PR, concert-wise, was very good. I have no interest in seeing Q+AL. I have no interest in that tribute band they're putting together. I'll go see A Night Of Queen instead and enjoy that show. |
tonyyy 05.01.2012 03:22 |
Great news! I hope for a new Queen + Paul Rodgers Tour!!! But... no Adam Lambert please! Tony link link |
redspecialusa 05.01.2012 22:47 |
I frankly don't care anymore who they tour w/...I miss Paul fronting them & feel there's a lot of untapped potential there. The Adam Lambert thing might work, we'll see if they even do it. The only thing I want Brian & Roger to be doing is making music & recording together...touring is great, but making new music is SO much better. |
Gregsynth 06.01.2012 01:00 |
"Q+PR, concert-wise, was very good. I have no interest in seeing Q+AL. I have no interest in that tribute band they're putting together. I'll go see A Night Of Queen instead and enjoy that show." ================ I'm seeing One Night Of Queen on March 24th (Saginaw MI)! |
Ivo-1976 06.01.2012 04:19 |
It seems that Brian and Roger are considering a Tour. They are still in good health but aren't getting any younger. I do have the feeling, that if they will do it, it will be their last. I'm sure that they will put together a great band, but lead vocals will always be an issue. I doubt if Adam Lambert is the right choice. A tour with a number of lead singers would be the best way to bow out, I guess. |
Michael Allred 06.01.2012 10:04 |
They will NOT tour with Adam Lambert people! Adam has a new album out in March and he'll be touring on his own to support it. AT THE MOST (if a Queen tour happens) Adam might be able to do a couple of shows if that's even possible. |

I'd like to talk to one the 17 people who'd pay to see him on his own to see if they think he's ready to fill Freddie's shoes. |

Everyday that passes i admire John Deacon even more. |
john bodega 07.01.2012 05:38 |
I don't. I actually think Deacon is a worthless turd. If he'd stayed an active member of Queen, then he'd be able to veto some of the *crap* that's happened since he retired. Even in retirement, surely he can shoot some of this stuff down? |
CosmosTales 07.01.2012 15:55 |
I dont think he alone could do/or was interested to do anything against Brian and Roger or companies decisions. His decision to retire and keep his hands clean for future things was the right thing to do. Lets face it, at the moment Freddie is gone half of Queen identity is lost. Since then Queen romance is getting cheaper! I am not saying Brian and Roger shouldnt play anymore but we all know their decisions regarding Queen stuff is based on profit: I fell really bad for saying this, who am i to say such a thing? Well i know what i see and this is not the sort of projects that i had in my Queen Fan mind. If Freddie was alive im sure he was very bored. |

For all we know, the others let him retire on the condiction that he has no say in any future business. |
