Am I the only one who thinks that new Innuendo remaster sounds totally shite?
Tracks from Innuendo on GHII sounds great, but the album itself is justa something awful. There's a lot of annoying high-frequency hiss on all tracks which makes this record a torture for ears. Innuendo tracks from Deep Cuts 3 have the same problem.
It was a huge disappointment for me, because Innuendo never sounded well on CD.

Well, on Japanese miniLPs drums on 'I Can't Live with You' are too prominent, it spoils the impression too.
Great ! I have just wasted £11.93 on this CD from Amazon, it was never a favourite album of mine, but i thought it was sure to sound pretty good.I only have to get AKOM and Flash now to have all of the 2011 remasters.Overall i think 2/5 with the first five being the best of the bunch.I can't see the bonus discs getting a regular spin on the CD player.I think the bonus tracks would have been better on the end of each single disc.I just need to get the enthusiam to buy the last two Albums! Lets face it there really is nothing on AKOM bonus disc to get excited about. As for Flash it always was a half baked effort, which BM just about made into a Album.

Actually you might not even notice this hiss.
I asked many people about it but just a few of them replied me that they can hear it too (but for me it sounds very prominent and annoying).
And bonus stuff sounds very clear.
I've owned the Hollywood version of this CD, the 2001 Japan remaster, and now the new 2011 remaster, and OVERALL I think the 2011 is the best. Aurally, it's just a problematic album for me, and always has been.
I believe Brian once talked about why they did the Queen Rocks retake of 'I Can't Live With You' in this way: that all the parts sounded great on their own, but somehow, inexplicably, when they pushed them all up to mix it, it just sounded a mess. I feel that way about several of the tracks on Innuendo. Hitman and Headlong are supposed to be the big rockers... but they seem so lifeless to me.... even on the new remaster. It's a strange thing, but i've come to believe that it's inherent to the master mix.
One of the biggest reasons I think the 2011 remaster is the best of the lot is These Are The Days Of Our Lives. The drums on that sound AMAZING... better than i'd ever heard before. And many of Freddie's vocals throughout the album sound cleaner / clearer in the mix than on previous versions.
all in my humble opinion, of course... love the record, though. The Show Must Go On is one of Freddie's most passionate performances on record...

Really? I have the original 1991 version and, while it certainly isn't the best disc I have audio quality-wise, I don't find it at all unpleasant to listen to.

On the original 1991 CD some tracks sounds 'muddy'. Though this is the best version of 'Innuendo' for me.
I bought Innuendo when it came out in 1991 and thought it always sounded sterile. Delicate cymbals were choked and drums sounded like drum machines. I like the album, and the songs but I always felt, is this as good as it gets? Will there ever be a clean sounding, fuller sounding remaster? I bought the 2004 Japanese mini LP hoping for this and couldn't hear much of a difference. I was left thinking, was it actually a remaster? There was a slight sheen off it but I was left wanting it better! The 2011 has the best dynamics, and more bass, better separation and the guitars are superb but for some strange reason the vocals have a weird whine to them that after a few songs begin to grate on the ears and nerves. Innuendo was recorded when Freddie was quite ill and on his insistence had to finished. The band knew time was running out. During the recording sessions, only Queen and David Richards knew what was going on. It was a digital recording also and this may explain why the master lacks the dynamics. Digital promises everything but the technology was quite new back in 1990 and albums were tailor made for the slick sound of CD. All this adds up to what we're left with today. I forgot to say, I have the original LP too, and even though I like the CD running order, the LP is edited and track running order is rearranged, the LP sounds better!
Fantastic album. Believe it or not, the very hissy tape copy (and I mean copy!) I got of this when I first started getting into Queen around 1995-96 still gives me goosebumps. Magic! But I'm weird like that - AFAIC, I really don't care about these wee issues, it's still a beautiful album. Got the 1991 LP and CD, the 1994 remaster, the 2001 Japanese mini-lp and the Island remaster from 2011. I don't have the technical ear that you guys seem to have, because I've never noticed much of a difference between them...and that old tape is still great :)

your CD copy this album is a defective that's why you're hearing all sorts of clicks and pops and high-frequency sound. I have this album, but I don't noticed those problems
Thanks for taking the time to discuss this, I feel strongly about it and love learning more on this topic. If possible, as you gain expertise, would you mind updating your blog with more information? It is extremely helpful for me. https://royalcbd.com/cbd-oil-without-thc/
