My favorite is a tie between Ogre Battle and March of the Black Queen. My least favorite is Loser in the End by far (sorry Roger!!!). White Queen would be my favorite but I feel like they could have done a better job of recording it. It worked much better live and the BBC version is better as well. |

Favorite: White Queen Least Favorite: The Fairy Feller's Master-Stroke (but I don't really think there's any 'bad' songs on Queen II, sooo...) |

Along with "Chuck Norris" Bashing, questions and jokes about John Deacon since retirement, (valid) Complaints about re-re-re-releases (i.e. Queen's Absolute Best of the Absolutely Greatest of Greatest Hits I, II and III), Top Favorite lists, and the (*hilarious) ongoing thread about "Brian's Curse" ... ....Loser in the End bashing... has got to be one of the most recurrent topics. Nice way to rephrase it though. ...Geez, is it really that long since something momentous happened? |

Agreed with first post. |

I don't have a least favorite on this album. It flows seamlessly from beginning to end and is exactly as it should be. |

March Of The Black Queen and Loser In The End - I'll leave it up to you to guess which one is my favourite and the one I least enjoy. |

I'm fascinated by all the songs in Queen II, except for "Loser in the End." The atmosphere of the whole album is just incredible to me. In addition, I appreciate the Baroque rock style of "The Fairy Feller's Master Stroke." A stroke of genius in my opinion and one of the many Queen essentials to understanding the mindset of Queen, their experimentation and the new sounds they were committed to introducing. Queen II is a fantastic collective work. |

Fave: March Of The Black Queen (White Queen in second place) Worst song IMO: Some Day One Day. |

Last time I checked, this was a forum, and this IS general discussion which is the place for topics like this one. If you don't like it, then don't comment. This is one of the things that queenzone is meant for. |

Favourite is MOTBQ and my least favourite is Funny how love is (I'm surprised no one has mentioned it). It ruins the flow of the last few songs for me. |

It's a close to perfect album, almost conceptual, Brians and then Freddies unique compositions braced together by Rogers 'loser in the end'. It's like; Brian takes us steadily up the mountain, we meet Roger at the top and then we storm down the other side with Freddie. Every aspect belongs in it's alotted space. |
maxpower 22.10.2011 05:28 |
Funny How Love Is, is too my least favourite and also one of my least favourite Queen songs |

White Queen (As It Began) is definately my favourite song on the album, it's probably my favourite queen song overall (that is extremely hard to decide though). As for my least favourite? Gosh, I don't know. I would probably say Funny How Love Is (not saying that it's a bad song, just had to pick one for the thread). Definately one of their best albums in my opinion, tied with A Day at the Races and A Night at the Opera. |
paulosham 22.10.2011 18:34 |
My favourite is probably The Loser In The End and my least favourite (don't you just hate that phrase) is probably The Loser In The End. I also like to spell favourite with a u. |

Favourite: The Fairy Fellers Master-Stroke (and The March of the Black Queen). Not favourites: Some Day One Day (or Funny How Love Is). |

Favourite: White Queen Least favourite: Loser in the end |

By far for me the best is Father to Son. (But you'll write it all again, before you die... yeah!" White Queen is next, and I love Looser in The End too, I love all of Rodger's songs, (yes, even Fun It). |

Hi guys. Haven't posted in years, but given the resurgence of Queen's catalog, this is the first place that came to mind. Hope you're all doing well. Now, back to topic... Favorite: March Of The Black Queen. It still gets to me after all this years, just like all their theatrical, dynamic, explosive songs from 74-76 (Fairy Feller's, Ogre Battle, Lap of the gods, Teo Torriate, etc). Least favorite: Seven Seas Of Rhye. It's a great song too, but I knew this one from compilations and videos so It didn't interest me as much as the rest of the album. -Jon |

Overall I think Queen II is probably the band's most balanced (and the best) album. There just isn't a bad or a "fuller" song in the album which might have been Queen's biggest problem troughout their career (album wise). However, I think that The Loser In The End just doesn't fit in it. If it was only Brian and Freddie, I don't think that The Loser In The End -song would have been in the album. But since Queen was a group, they kinda "accepted" that. Personally I have to admit that I like Roger more on the backing vocals rather than lead vocals which might affect my opinion. The Black Side of Queen II is just pure gold. After Brian May's brilliant songs Father to Son and White Queen (As It Began) comes the Mercury bit, which I think should be in the display window of Freddie's most finest group of songs. It's just hard to pick a favourite though. Right now I'd say Nevermore, depending A LOT of my mood. A great short song which seem to integrate the album altogether. Worst: The Loser In The End Best: Nevermore |

Favorite is March of the Black Queen...least favorite is Some Day One Day, although that wasn't a bad song either. Queen II is one of maybe 3 or 4 Queen albums where I like every single track... |
Mr. Daffodil 17.06.2012 21:48 |
Well, I'd have to say that I don't have a least favorite. Although, I feel like Loser in the End doesn't belong on the album. It's a good song, but it doesn't fit into the flow of the album and ruins the mood at the end of the White Side |
dowens 17.06.2012 22:42 |
For some reason, the first two Queen albums sound different to me compared to SHA and beyond. I think there isn't a bad song on Queen II. I remember distinctly liking it better than the first album on the first listen because it's more melodic in many ways to me. My favs are White Queen and Father to Son. I love Loser in the End too! |
dianamascarenhas 18.06.2012 04:27 |
I guess every queen song is a favourite to me, so that's it. |
brENsKi 18.06.2012 17:06 |
nevermore ...by a country mile...it's so beautifully sung, constructed and the sighs between lines show freddie's perfect grasp of drama |
Flash Jazz 20.06.2012 05:27 |
I don't understand when you say Queen had many filler songs on their albums :p |
waunakonor 23.06.2012 19:37 |
Best--March of the Black Queen. I've been in love with it since I first listened to it; it changed my life. Worst--The very next track. It kills the mood. I honestly think The Loser in the End fits in well in the album. It fits in a hell of a lot better than FHLI, at least. |
