A big thank you to you guys too, without you I would never of got this little project off the ground. Special thanks to you Inu who took over the show and got everything organised. You are all experts in your field. A special mention to Ale here, who had to endure my constant changes and fussiness over the artwork.... but we came through in the end. Of course no recording is possible unless we have the original taper there at the show to put these gigs onto cassette at the time, so a huge thanks to my good friend Jim. Enjoy.... I know I will. |

Thanks a lot guys !======= The video's pitch runs a hair slow (just like Hammersmith 1975)! Really ? How can that be since both videos are PAL and were SHOT on PAL video ? There should be NO framerate conversion, or am I missing something ? |
Gregsynth 17.10.2011 12:19 |
I don't know about the PAL or video stuff at all! All I know, is that there's this one video source on Youtube that has the pitch running a hair slow. The audience source, and the "miracle express" audio run at the correct pitch! |
Gregsynth 17.10.2011 12:23 |
As for the video going out of sync, that may have been my fault, because when I exported the audio out of Audacity, I accidently exported it as 24-bit WAV (not 16-bit). I was told that changed the bit rate like that can create a de-syncing issue and/or cause gaps in the audio. Inu-liger was able to fix my mistake! |

I stopped using Winamp long ago, preferring foobar2000 for it's advanced features, wider format support and better CPU efficiency. |

GT wrote: Special thanks to you Inu who took over the show and got everything organised. No prob, Gary! That's quite humbling to hear that from you, actually. For me, it was just a matter of seeing this project through to the end within our intended timeframe, and I was pleasantly surprised how fast we were able to get it out the window as a team. Major kudos to my buddy Jimmy for agreeing to take time out his regular band and studio work schedule to help us out with the actual remastering! :-) |

Listening to Keep Yourself Alive at the moment - thoughts so far. Generally speaking I like audience recordings, as you feel part of the show (no shit, sherlock!) - and this is no exception. I wonder how close the taper was to the front, as it seems a little distant at times - particularly with the talk between songs. Having said that, you can hear what is going on without too much difficulty. N.B. Is this the version Bob refers to on queenlive.ca? (where the taper takes the cassette out of his pocket - as it is clearer from Now I'm Here onwards). |

But of course that's just my assumption, based on years of hearing audience recordings and observing the changes in sound quality. There could've just been a really overweight guy directly in front of his recorder or external mic who left before the encore ! |
