I had to giggle a little at the part of the entry that went on about the sniping from people on their 'keyboards and phones' apparently 'with nothing better to do'. Love Brian, but he has consistently been one of the most inappropriately vitriolic keyboard warriors loose on the internet for years now. So he'll have to forgive me if I don't take him or his inexplicably flaky taste too seriously in this instance. She sings a song he wrote, so she must be brave and brilliant and insightful seems to be the logic. Whatever.
Just proves that Brian hasn't got a F'ing clue anymore.
For somebody who worked with one of the greatest singers in history, he's obviously gone deaf.
I can't believe how he raved about that blonde singing Who Wants To Live Forever, as she was dreadful.
The Dude: "Not true. No guy gets horny after 35. I should know because I'm 35. We think of food the way we used to think of sex."
Oh man, I am cracking up over here, because what you say is true - albeit for me it was around 45 years of age. I'm 46 now and I am so happy I'm not half as bad as I was. I'm happy about it, because I can concentrate better, get more things done, and I am less likely to be manipulated than I once was. I still appreciate a beautiful woman, but things have definitely cooled down.
As for Brian, yes, he does seem to go for mediocre, blonde female singers. I guess after years on the road getting what he wanted, he can't get over it. It's time for him to grow up, or Anita is in big trouble, just like the one before her. I believe I said on this forum that, IMO, Queen are exemplary musicians, but not necessarily exemplary people. And, oh yes, it would also probably be a good idea for John to stay out of stripper joints, if he wants his marriage to remain intact.
Christ, I listened to her again for a laugh, I had to turn it off.
I just don't get it. Is he being reciprocal because he's glad one of his songs is being sung?
I didn't see him gush like this about that Martel bloke, who can actually sing (whether you like sound-a-likes or not). If the secret of Brian May's power is extra-marital sex, then bloody Hell - get out there Brian, time is wastin'.

I'll drink to that!
Get out there and keep em swinging!!!!
(by that i mean... his guitars.... not his ... royal pair)
Can't believe he thought she was good. But he did reference the naysayers and the abuse she'd received online quite a lot in that post, perhaps he just felt he should stick up for her. There's no way a man who spent half his life listening to Freddie Mercury sing could possibly think she has any vocal talent.
By the way, I really hate x factor and all other reality tv. The fact that she's apparently got a long way in that show and a lot of people thought her abomination of a performance was good.. is proof of the ever lowering standards that these shallow, temporary, pretentious 'reality' shows produce. It scares me to think what the music industry is going to be like in 10 years. Same with TV. I have no doubt at all that watching and listening to this crap dumbs down the average human mind.
