At the risk of being branded as a geek, I thought I'd share with you a wee passion I have for a well known 80s TV programme, "The A-Team". Now I was just a toddler when it was first broadcast in 1983, and was only 7 when it ended in 1987. I can remember watching it back then, but my passion was re-kindled somewhat this year when I got the big 27 DVD set (nicely packaged in an explosives crate) in a special at HMV. Over the past 6 weeks or so, I have immersed myself in the land of Smith, Peck, Murdock and Baracus, and am totally and utterly hooked to the point where I am dreaming I am part of the squad lol.
However, tragedy struck when, tonight, I reached the final episode. In the last season, the guys had finally been caught by the US government after once again escaping a military stockade and, ultimately, the firing squad - and, in exchange for a pardon, had to go out on several "suicide" missions. The problem is I can't find closure on this amazing adventure as season 5 only lasted 13 episodes due to falling ratings at the time (still well over 9 million lol) and the final episode dealt with them foiling a plan to kill a DA whilst on "vacation"......but that ended like a regular episode with none of the loose-ends tied up.
So, my question is simply, WTF??? Where there any spin-offs? Books to explain it? Did they get their pardon???? The film from last year dealt with how the team came to be, and why they were convicted......but writer Stephen Cannell passed last year, and I haven't found anything to say there any plans to "close" the story? If anyone could please put me out of my misery, please do - after well over 20 years since the original stopped airing, I'd be grateful to know :)
And I ain't getting on no plane to find out :)))))
And just to confirm, it is Thistleboy 1980 - I've made the slight change in pesona in homage to my new found heroes lol :)
And been thinking about itway too much - if the A-Team ever become a direct replacement of Queen, they would be:
Hannibal Smith - Freddie
Face - Brian
BA - Roger
Murdock - John
lol
Thought of this thread this morning when I opened my daily Groupon Offer. It was for a discount on vinyl wall stickers that would actually be really cool in the right place. There was a 'Mr. T' one. Ha ha. There is a Freddie one too. Both can be found in the cultural icons section. http://www.voilastickers.com/
From Wikipedia
In what was supposed to be the final episode, "The Grey Team" (although "Without Reservations" was broadcast on NBC as the last first-run episode in March 1987), Hannibal, after being misled by Stockwell one time too many, tells him that the team will no longer work for him. At the end, the team discusses what they were going to do if they got their pardon, and it is implied that they would continue doing what they were doing as the A-Team.

I've never been one to fully trust Wikipedia, but now that you've pointed that out, it does make sense: in no reservations, Murdock is wearing a red t-shirt which says "almost fini", but in the grey team (which ended up the penultimate episode) he has a blue t-shirt which says "fini". They've obviously just switched the episodes, but now pieced together (I missed the line where Hannibal told Stockwell it was over) it all makes sense. So they continued as "Soldiers of fortune". Nice! Leaves it open to the fans imagination.....or a new run. Wonder who would play Hannibal?

That sentence needs more punctuation.
(I) did like the film version's little homage to Dwight Schultz's character in Star Trek Voyager by calling one of the stars of the film, in Murdochs escape from the german loony bin, "Reginald Barclay"...
Best I can do.
But This does get the RUN-ON SENTENCE OF THE DAY award.
I love it when a plan comes together.
