Hi QueenZone!
I sing background vocals in a Queen tribute which has had great success here in Sweden. 79 shows so far!
It's a two part show, the first being A Night At The Opera, in it's entirety, and where Queen proudly stated: "No Synthezisers", we are equally proud to say: "No tapes - everything is live!". Part two is a 1974-91 hit parade.
Brian May himself has written nice things about the show: link
We are now taking on the UK for two shows:
Liverpool Philharmonic Oct 1
London Hammersmith Apollo Oct 4.
Please take a look at our website, link check out a video or two. If you like what you see, maybe we'll meet in Liverpool or London!
All the best!
Klas Brohagen, Karlstad, Sweden
£35 for a tribute band is a discusting price £26 for back row, when you can see WWRY for near enough the same price, you wont see me there im afraid,Only live 5 miles away from Liverpool alot of people from here wont pay this.
I agree £35 in this economic climate is too much & like the poster above said a tribute band, many of the people on here wouldn't have paid £35 to see Queen & Paul Rodgers
It's hard to disagree with you, it IS rather pricey...
In Sweden, where we have made us quite a following it may be correct, but as newcomers to England, if we want to see you guys in Pool and London, the pricing seems rather unrealistic.
The people in charge have realized that we won't fill either place if we don't knock down prices, so there actually is a £7 discount per ticket if you have the right promotional code (which happens to be "Swedish" - don't tell anyone ;-) )
It's just too bad that people who I know would LOVE this, and who would have been there had the tickets been a bit cheaper, will miss this.
Regards, Klas
Hello! I wish you good luck with the shows in London - it sounds great already!!!
At the risk of sounding extremely self-centered .... can you please think about bringing the shows to the United States? Get your management to find a good US promoter and there are a lot of venues here that would love to have you on their schedules. I've been hoping that MIRACLE (the Dutch Queen band) would come over one day and now I read this about your band and I see your website and I hope your band can come and perform some day in US. I know it would be expensive to tour abroad but consider Gary Mullen and the Works they have done well in the US and performed a string of cities.
Good luck with your shows and thanks for announcing it on QZ!
Hey all you Queen fans in London!
You should all come down to the Apollo, tickets are down to £20, and it is well worth it!
Show starts in an hour, so hurry!
Thanks /Klas
BTW: Liverpool loved it!
@Thrill Yeti:
Thanks for coming, glad you liked it!
Everybody involved in the show were really happy about the England shows. The wonderful response from the audience was really overwhelming, positively made everybody perform at the top of their ability. Mr Rynefors (the producer) rated the concerts as top 5 ever!
