For me personally there weren't many great things this year. 2 things for me which i think will be great. The 40 years of Queen book and the forthcoming DVD/BR release "Days of our lives". Those 2 things only for me. I will skip the album remasters and the re-release of Wembley '86. Well, maybe the adding of the friday show was great but that's about it for me.
Highlights for the year (since you asked) :
1) London - 40th Anniversary Queen Exhibition
"We Will Rock You" - Dominion Theater (finally got there)
Saw the original painting "The Fairy Feller's Masterstroke" at the Tate Britain
Saw Queen sites: Garden Lodge, Ealing College, Earl's Court
2) Atlanta - Breakthru (North American Queen Convention)
Joined Queen fans from all over
Met Peter Freestone, Jackie Smith & Gary Taylor (nice of them to come from afar)
Saw Innuendo perform their first gig
3) Attended Queen tribute bands:
Almost Queen
Gary Mullen & the Works
4) Joined QZ! Especially like the fan mixes section.
5) Deep Cuts 1, 2, 3
6) Brian May performing with Lady Gaga on the VMAs ( You & I)
Brian & Roger performing with the Foo Fighters (Tie Your Mother Down)
7) Days of Our Lives Documentary
8) Freddie's Google Doodle on his birthday (so cool)
There's still more to look forward to this year, such as Queen receiving their
lifetime achievement award next month. I've been watching the auditions on
Roger's Queen Extravaganza site and I also enjoy keeping up with Brian's website.
Regrets: Not being able to make a separate trip to see Brian May & Kerry Ellis!
Obviously the 40th anniversary gig was awesome. Who'd have ever thought that John Deacon would ever set foot on a stage again - even though it was just for one song? Awesome to see him play Another One Bites The Dust after probably 25 years of not having played it in public. The rest of the gig was great too, though my personal highlight was probably The Show Must Go On. Freddie's version was awesome, Paul Rodgers did a great job - but seeing Roger and Brian duet was unbelievable.
Besides that I really enjoyed the 35th anniversary box of ANATO which was released in late February. Though it included some stuff we've had before (the documentary, the 5.1 mix) there were still some awesome new bits and pieces. Highlights for me were the acoustic demo of I'm In Love With My Car and the Lazing On A Sunday Afternoon outtakes with Roger and Freddie bursting into laughter all the time. Great package and I hope the promised boxes for ADATR and NOTW which have already been announced will be as good.

Just briefly I met you & your family while checking in. It's understandable that you can't remember everybody - there was alot of pressure on Innuendo right from the start due to the other band dropping out - so a bit preoccupied, right? You guys did an awesome job btw! Hope the group plays again next year! Cheers!

I'm not sure they announced it yet. But I'm hoping it will be around the same area again.

I just received my copy of the Queen 40 Book. It is pretty nice so is probably one of the better things to have happen this year.
Definately worth the £20 that amazon.co.uk are selling it for.
The others things I enjoyed the most were probably the exhibition and the BBC documentary.
I also really liked some of the bonus tracks in the reissues such as Feeling, Feelings and A Kind Of Vision, but overall the bonus CDs should have been a lot better.
