to start of with...a big hello to all of you.
sorry for my english ( im dutch....smile)
i am a fan since i was 9 years old...and now i am realy old...44 years...
i love a lot different styles of music
but Queen is for me the best band ever
watching dvd live in japan right now
i am glad i saw the band in leiden in 1986 ( will never forget that)
my question is : why are the most of you not happy with wat they bring out now?
yes it is more of the same and yes we all hope they bring stuff we dont know....
most off you are complaining here....
but lets be happy they keep Queen alive
and if you dont like it....you dont have to buy the new cd's or dvd
so let's be happy with wat we got and thank Queen (Freddie) for what they have gave us during the last years....
there are more than enough problems in the world...so please stop complaining and treasure what you have....life is to short.......

Hallo en welkom to Queenzone, Eric, glad to have you here!
about your post, it's really nice and you're right but still we're all entitled to complain if they release a 2 CD set remastered and (in most cases) only featuring one or two interesting tracks...
still, if we don't buy their new releases it feels like they're fooling us down...
again, I respect your opinion and agree with it ;D
PS: Leiden 1986? lucky one!! ; )
I really appreciate your sentiment, Erik, there is something nice about it - however, if no-one bought the better known stuff, then there would be less chance of QP thinking there would be an interest in the obscure "rarities". On the flipside, if no-one complains about what they are releasing (or the quality of it) after they DO buy, QP will think they're doing something right....either way, they're screwing us over, whether intentionally or not.
Funny thing is i have probably fallen right into the QP trap, the new re-masters have got me right into all the albums again, I bought one out of curiosity and then I was hooked as it had a demo on it.
Now I have pretty much bought them all and I love them...
All I can add here is if you dont like it dont buy it, there has been plenty i havent bought over the years but I dont waste time bitching about it, this re-master deal was obviously part of the Universal agreement and you know what I for one am glad to have the most up to date versions of the track, I still have the old stuff from vinyl and cassett to CD in most cases so if I want to hear how it sounded on my old vinyl I can. I personnally love the clarity of these new discs and some of the demo material has been interesting I particularly love Sail away sweet sister, with Freds comment at the end...
No doubt in a few years we will all be buying the latest Blue/Green Ray cassett disc and moaning about the fact we are buy the same shit again....
They could release John Deacon's exclusive home footage of the band and people on here would complain about the type of camera he shot it on.
That's what we do, here on Queenzone.
Now, let me tell you what's wrong with....
What you will soon learn here is Queen fans (the ones on this site anyway) will NEVER be happy with what Queen release because they think they have knowledge of what exists in the 'archives' that they would rather have BUT they will continue to buy the stuff they already have giving Queen Productions no reason to release anything new. Its a stupid, massive vicious circle.
Its not these Queen fans' fault of course ;-)
(I am not one of them by the way, I haven't bought any 'new' Queen release since Made In Heaven, if everyone else did the same they would get what they want)
Difference of opinion I guess Erik...after all Queen is a band with a GIGANTIC fanbase and all those millions of fans can't always have the same way of thinking right? For some it's bad enough that Roger and Brian are coming together under the name Queen at all, for some it's hard to get over Freddie's loss, even now, and for some there were probably expectations on QRP that weren't exactly met.
As for me, well...I'd much rather see them than not at all, and I'm more than happy they're under the name Queen and keeping the band name relevant even today IMO. I really liked TCR, and I hope Brian and Roger come together again soon and make another album, whether with Paul or with someone new...as long as they don't go the ghastly Pepsi commercial way!
