I meant to ask this question concerning collecting Queen concert DVD's. Are there any new queen dvd's of their concerts from the 70s or at least very early 80s? Or any that will be shipped out anytime soon?
So far,I have these 3 concert dvd's in my collection,Queen rock montreal,Queen on fire live at the bowl, and queen live at wembley stadium, all as always great modern classic concerts to own! I do plan to get FINAL LIVE IN JAPAN,and I do know there's a copy of rock in rio as well,i'll get either of those eventually.
What i'd like to know is are there any 1970s concerts out there on DVD or at least VHS,and I don't really mean any bootlegs,I mean officially released copies of their live concerts. I looked over amazon.com,nothing there save for the usual stuff.
If anyone has any info on any coming soon/new releases, answer here,I would appreciate it greatly.
Well, unless there have been some spectacularly exciting announcements in the last 24 hours, the answer is no. And beware the "Final Live In Japan" and "Rock In Rio" titles - the former does have an official release in Japan only, but is VERY rare, whilst there is NO official release of the latter on DVD. A crappy company called Masterplan have brought these out, but they are unofficial and just VHS/laserdisc transfers with crappy picture quality, shit menus and a horrible "MP" logo in the corner. I fell for them a while ago....please avoid them! Come to think of it, they are probably QP in disguise lol :)
About what I thought, but thanks anyways for the reply thistleboy,I appreciate it and keep the info in mind for those two releases. It's just that you'd think they'd release some concert goodies from the 70s and others from the 80s by now on DVD. I guess there must be a reason for it. Either way,we'll just have to grit our teeth and wait.

That sums it up just about nicely, Miracle-Man! :)
Just download the DVDs from here for free... there are plenty.
Rainbow 74, Hammersmith 75, Earls Court 77 and Houston 77 all exist in great quality. Hammersmith is the best quality of the bunch. It has been broadcast on TV countless times, so it's as good as an official release.

isn't rainbow 74 (at least the november gigs) an official release? but anyway you can get rainbow 74 (awful edit, mono sound) on vhs...
if by rainbow 74 being official. thats a matter of debate. you cant just rock into a dvd store and get it. its out of print and now a 20 year old vhs tape. and buying second hand hardly gives money to Queen.
I have all the uk released dvd concerts etc and also the live in japan dvd i bought it from ebay a while back love it... So like all off you on hear i want more concerts.. I have used a site called keepvid and searched on youtube and found Houston 1977 full concert 1979 paris, Live in Caracas 1981, and ripped them perfectly im just watchin them now as i have streamed them to my ps3 to watch...Watchin live in paris now. It's not really a matter of debate....its age and format doesn't make it any less official. QP licensed it, it got commercially released, end of story.

We appreciate the offer, but these concerts have been available to download here for many years, and in better quality than what is on youtube. Those videos are badly compressed. Grab the originals from the announce section here.
The problem with the 70s concerts is that with all DVDs, it has to be commercially viable and, whether people like it or not, if you produce 'early Queen' products, they're not going be as packed with hits to get the masses interested.
There is an audience out there for the songs everyone knows. There's less of an audience for songs that few, other than followers of the band, would care to hear
