Happy Birthday to John Deacon ! I wish he is a more sociable person. I don't understand why he is a Leo but he goes into a crab-shell like a Cancerian.
Happy birthday Deacy, and if you're on one of your forum trawls, thanks for the inspiration! Hard to remember that the cute little Cocker Spaniel is 60!
Some years ago (and not being biased towards my fellow four-stringed ones at all!) I decided that 19th August should be declared Official Be Nice To Your Bassist day. Think of the lot of the poor bassist...we stand there quietly in the back, thumping away, not bothering anybody, keeping the band together, never hogging the limelight, occasionally having to drop the Duvet of Sensible on the head of a twittering neurotic, and usually taking the blame for anything that goes wrong.
Just one day a year, every band should take their bassist out for a beer and show them some love- then said bassist might not run off and retire, oh how different things may have been! ;)
Course, now I'm the guitarist, and it's usually me having to have the Duvet of Sensible dropped on my head...
Happy birthday, Mr. Anonymous, the private citizen formerly known as the bassist for Queen!
Have a wonderful day and we wish you many, many more private birthdays to come...
Happy Birthday John! We hope that you will be at the BMI Presentation for the Lifetime Achievement Award. You are missed, and since Freddie is gone, it would be great if you could be there with the boys! Queen Forever!
They say that 40 is the new 20, 50 the new 30 ... and 60 the new 40!
So Happy Birthday John - still young. No need for the music to end.
Here's my fantasy year ahead for you:
1) Celebrate birthday milestone
2) Hug family & grandchildren
3) Dust off bass guitar, power up amp
4) Pick up Lifetime Achievement Award
5) Resume rockin'!
