Would it really have hurt to have included some info on who he actually was for those of us who do not know everyone who ever was relevant to any member of Queen for more than 24 hours?
Dave was in Brian's pre-Queen, pre-Smile band 1984. Brian and Dave used to work diligently on parts recording music back and forth on two tape recorders. Brian has cited him as being very important in his own musical development....
Dave Dilloway was the Bass Player in our Band "Wedgwood" for a great many years. He frequently talked of 1984 and his good friend Brian. I have fond memorys of his Wife Pat and their girls since we met regularly for meals and evenings together and our kids grew up together. My sympathy goes to Pat and the girls. RIP Dave.

> As for 'important for Queen'... utter nonsense
No, it's not. His guitar was used on several Queen songs, not to mention the entire début album, without which there wouldn't be a second, without which there wouldn't be a third, and so on.
That's important.
He was not AS important as, say, Roy Baker or John Reid. But he WAS important.
Thinking his being important is utter nonsense ... utter and imbecile nonsense.
Had time to think... you are right, without that person Brian used to know Queen would never has existed.. I remember Brian talking about him through all these years.. Queen would never have happened without him.
Wow...here's a challenege...let's try not to make this a thread about bashing each other...instead, let's pay our respects to Mr. Dave Dilloway, whi sadly passed away well before his time obviously...
R.I.P.
I think it's key to acknowledge that Dave Dilloway was part of the tapestry that was the Pre-Queen era, he's present on existing 1984 tracks (themselves indisputably important recordings), and was close enough to Brian (personally and professionally, to varying degrees) to be acknowledged by the man as important in his life.
Beyond that, Mr. Dilloway was a friend and family member to people out there, people who suffer in loss now, and we hope for them that the pain is not too great, nor felt too long.
Please forgive Mooghead, or what's his name, as he is as important to Queen as ....well, a fly on a steaming pile.
Brian loses yet another friend/acquaintence. Mr. Dilloway certainly had some fond memories that none of us ever came remotely close to sharing....or ever will.
The fact that Brian doesn't mention someone on his soapbox or in interviews doesn't make them any less than a friend. Clearly this was someone Brian crossed paths with more often than once every 20 years.
RIP Dave. You are a footnote in Queen history, and it's entirely possible Brian wouldn't have been the same without you in the picture early on.
Interesting topic for a blog. I have been searching the Internet for fun and came upon your website. Fabulous post. Thanks a ton for sharing your knowledge! It is great to see that some people still put in an effort into managing their websites. I'll be sure to check back again real soon. https://royalcbd.com/washington-dc/
