I have decided to create this thread and I want to finally ask if this concert will be released on DVD in all its entirety in this year or not? I feel like all we have just been fooled again. |
pittrek 10.08.2011 09:23 |
Which one of the three filmed shows do you mean ? |
e-man 10.08.2011 09:31 |
do we know for a fact that the complete first show was filmed? |
pittrek 10.08.2011 09:52 |
The March show WAS filmed, and at least Son And Daughter and Modern Times Rock'n'roll survived in excellent quality |

Must there be a new '70's Queen concert should/will be released' thread every day? Yawn. |

I personally would rather see a full March Rainbow show than the two November shows. |

A father's friend who lives in london during 1974 said that he could watch the March gig in Tv for a special aniversary program or something like that... so i think they has recorded the full gig altought now they only have only two songs... By the way just two songs from march with the "recently discovered" seven seas of rhye, killer queen and now i'm here Totp performances would be a Great bunch of Bonus for a release of the Nov gig... |

I say what I want,my apologise, I hope the news about releasing complete Rainbow '74 weren't a joke. I have recently been hoping they'd release something worthwhile. And now I know it is going to happen! I mean the complete first concert at Wembley. But what about concerts from 70's? Will they ever release them? if honestly I doubt. What say you? |

Sure. But first, QPL will re-issue: * Wembley again. * Wembley again. * Wembley again. * Wembley again. * Montreal again. * Wembley again. * Montreal again. * Wembley again. * Montreal again. * Wembley again. * Montreal again. * Milton Keynes again. * Wembley again. * Montreal again. * Milton Keynes again. * Wembley again. * Montreal again. * Milton Keynes again. * Wembley again. * Montreal again. * Live Aid again. * Milton Keynes again. * Wembley again. * Montreal again. * Live Aid again. * Milton Keynes again. * Wembley again. * Montreal again. * Live Aid again. * Milton Keynes again. * Wembley again. * Montreal again. * Budapest again. * Live Aid again. * Milton Keynes again. * Wembley again. * Montreal again. * Budapest again. * Live Aid again. * Milton Keynes again. * Wembley again. * Montreal again. * The '92 Tribute again. * Budapest again. * Live Aid again. * Milton Keynes again. * Wembley again. * Montreal again. * The '92 Tribute again. * Budapest again. * Live Aid again. * Milton Keynes again. * Wembley again. * Montreal again. And so on... So, we can MAYBE expect Rainbow in 2074 (you know, when the gig's a hundred years old). Unless, of course, they decide to first release: * Wembley again. * The '92 Tribute again. * Wembley again. * Budapest again. * Wembley again. * Live Aid again. * Wembley again. * Milton Keynes again. * Wembley again. * Montreal again. * Wembley again. |

QPL will never released concert Live At The Rainbow 1974 because in 1975 Queen gone away from trident, they forgot master tape from this concert.. And so as the trident died, and our dreams are dead now, we never see a full concert, maybe we'll see on the DVD version VHS with bonuses |
Rick 12.08.2011 08:42 |
The exhibition showed one of the November gigs in its entirety. It's there. |

In 2074, I will celebrate 78 years old. So I'm still lucky to see it released. |
Hangman_96 14.08.2011 07:41 |
I've just found out that the three tracks from soundboard (which used to be confused as being from November 20th) are from November 19th. Interesting to know that. |
Rick 14.08.2011 10:14 |
This would make a great release. Not just for the performance, but John seems to have a jolly good time during this concert. Anyone else noticed this as well? Maybe because Rainbow was 'home' for them. It's great to see a young Deaky having a good time. He does a lot of backing vox as well (whether he mimes, I don't care) and he is even credited as backing vocalist on the VHS. |
hauntofroulettedares 15.08.2011 21:47 |
All of my favorite full-length Queen concerts that I've seen are from the 70's, and it makes me sad that I may never get to own any of them in high-quality on DVD. :-( And Live at the Rainbow is of course my absolute favorite...followed closely by Earl's Court and Live in Houston. |
volandemort 18.08.2011 03:00 |
I think we'll see |

The March show is better in my opinion, though it's much too short for a DVD release on its own. The first live Queen from the 70s I heard (apart from Live Killers) was the March Rainbow show, and their performances absolutely blew me away, especially compared to the official 80s releases I'd heard. The backing vocals are particularly good, Roger's voice sounds almost identical to the record on Seven Seas Of Rhye. |
Ghostwithasmile is BACK! 04.01.2012 03:31 |
Queen doesn't have the March show except for the 2 tracks... Both november gigs are compleet by the way... and would make a excellent double dvd release... |
tomchristie22 04.01.2012 04:04 |
Oh yeah, I sort of forgot that at the time.. The November shows would be excellent |
GinjaNinja 04.01.2012 04:51 |
Ideally, they would have a double dvd of both nights, with existing footage of the March show and anything else relevant as a bonus. It should be accompanied by a CD release of the uncut March show (as the recording that's leaked is incomplete from what I recall). Then we'd get three complete shows ;) |
tomchristie22 04.01.2012 06:09 |
That would be fantastic... Has Brian or Roger given an excuse as to why they're not going to release the Rainbow? Or is there still hope for this one |
Kevinrm15 04.01.2012 08:47 |
Brian did state about 6 months ago that they were working on releasing it on DVD so yes, thought as been given and hopefully put to action. |

So, if Brian said they will release Rainbow 6 months ago MAYBE we will have it on 2018 or later.... Otherwise being positive i would like SO much if they released on DVD-A the complete audio march rainbow show with a new mix from the multiracks (if they still have it) or at least the footage of the two songs that has survived plus some from Japan 75 tour as Bonus of the Rainbow release |
KevoM 05.01.2012 06:45 |
DVD_a died years ago so you can give up the ghost on thst format (as much as i liked it). Only hope for any decent quality audio releases is in the guise of Blu Ray audio discs but even these are thin on the ground and probably not commercially viable. QP seem to think that the archaic CD format is still the way to go! |
