Need some help from my UK friends on here...
I am debating on whether or not to purchase some Queen VHS tapes (Live at Budapest, the Magic Years, etc.) because I have never seen them. I do own the Magic Years Vol. 1 and wanted to get the other two. My question is, do the UK VHS play in standard VHS players here in the US?
My Volume 1 Magic Years does play, but it says "Printed in the USA" by MPI Productions.
I also have a VHS of "Princes of the Universe," which is just the music video. It looks official and I remember buying it at a music store, but have no clue where it's from, etc. It's a blue cover with gold writing...very cool, but I haven't been able to find any information about it...
Any help/suggestions are welcome!
UK video is in the PAL video format. US video is NTSC. PAL video will not play on NTSC players. If you can't find the rest of the MPI set on eBay, and if you wind up buying the UK videos, you will want to take them to a video transfer production company who can transfer them from PAL to NTSC format. I worked in a video transfer facility twenty years ago and it was common to have rock shows come in on PAL and we would do the transfer...and of course made copies for ourselves.
In a world of re-masters and DVD's with this and that, and Blu-Rays, re-edit, cut, copy and past.... Eidition one, then collectors editions and total collectors editions and new collectors edition and then long lost edition.....
I would say.....
YES!!!!!!!!!!!..... Its somethign old scool that would be great,
I still have many a VHS and its great to see something untouched.
