Hello everybody: I was looking at the 2nd video of "We are the champions" and some behind the camera scenes, and started to wonder... Does anybody knows if the show that Queen played for the fans that night is filmed? I know that there's a an audio of it, but it will be nice to see a video too, right? Thanks everybody!! Salutes. |

According to Gary Taylor, it was not, sadly :( |
Rael 18.07.2011 12:45 |
Oh... :( Thats too bad. Well, I'll have to settle with the audio. Thanks for the answer! |

We can't be so sure about that this wasn't filmed. It could be filmed and now it's gathering dust in the archives, but they're hiding it from us. |

Frankly i don't belive a pro-shot of these show exists in the archive if Gary said that no footage of the gig exists, cause i think they revised the archive very well for their Documentary. Don't forget record footage in film (35 mm) or even in 16 mm was very expensive in these ages. |

I'm sure I have seen footage of Freddie at this with the crowd singing along - was this just for the recording of the promo, or was it from the after-shoot gig? |

brians wig wrote: According to Gary Taylor, it was not, sadly :(That's strange, so they simply packed their cameras after they filmed all mimed performances ? Quite illogical, especially when you consider how much material did Bob Harris' crew film in 1977 for the documentary, which was never finished. But it can be possible since they didn't film the end of the Hammersmith Odeon 75 show :-( |

The full Bob Harris documentary simply begs for a release. The American NOTW tour was a great one and ground-breaking as well. |
Rael 19.07.2011 10:29 |
So, maybe there is after all a video of that special concert! And that will be awsome (that is if we get to see it). |

Can somebody transcribe what did Bob exactly say ? Here is his speech : link |

Who says they're required to release anything? It's their stuff. We need to be careful not to have a sense of entitlement. These last six months have been incredible, to say the least - the exhibition, documentary, and bonus tracks on the deluxe editions. And Brian May says a Rainbow '74 DVD is next. What else can you ask for? |
joesilvey 19.07.2011 17:05 |
I agree, SirGH... and re: the 77 'tour documentary footage... isn't that what all the new 77 era stuff was from that appeared in the BBC doc TATDOOL? Lots and lots of interview bits and soundcheck moments, limos etc. that i'd never seen before... i assumed it was the pick of the litter from the unfinished Bob Harris stuff... just speculating of course, and not that i don't believe there isn't tons more GREAT footage yet unseen out of that project... |

It has been said that there are literally hundreds of hours of footage. |

I don't expect too much of what Brian says since he said they were to release Hammesmith 1975 a years ago and at the moment nothing happens; but a Rainbow Dvd would be Nice (i wish they put the two songs of March as bonus!)... Even if they only release the TATOOL documentary on dvd with extra footage i will be happy! Cheers! |

Honestly, there's also the possibility that QPL is just getting geared up for a whole slew of releases. None of us know, not even the archivists really. They may have more insight and knowledge then we do, sure. But they are not the band. Certainly all any of us can do is speculate as to what is going to come next... And of course anything that gets released in the rest of the world, the US will get it another 3 or so months later hahaha!! |

I heard that there's a box set in development, which would be consist of 5 discs devoted to Freddie and 8 discs devoted to Queen (2 CDs for each person), and which would be released in 2012.And in box set, dedicated to Freddie, there will be unreleased demos from the time period of album Jazz. These demos have been found accidentally, and now they work on them. I also heard hat supposedly there is a prohibition (as far as I could understand) not to replicate, but in general, for any occurrence of these records outside a certain circle of persons. Certain circle of people - Queen, management and some friends.I mean that Queen doesn’t want to release some demos, since many versions are too "raw" or, for example, some of them start commenting or slipping in the middle of the songs... It's too personal for them. in general that something like that |
