yesterday, link broadcast a six pack of queen (3 songs) and then 3 of bruce springsteen.
under pressure and pink cadillac were/are what i remember. seems i started something, now that clarence clemons has died (rip) last week, the writing in brucesplace @ yahoogroups.com has subjects about the end of the e street band. bruce's son evan was on cape cod last week, i know, jodi and i both saw him in a van with a bruce double, bruce was in florida with the clemons family at the time. if i wasn't 420 friendly, perhaps we would have shaken hands. that occured at smugglers beach of bass river, yarmouth, massachusetts, usa.
as for q+bs, it's bound to happen, may taylor springteen, perhaps gary talent (bassist for the e street band) and steven van zandt (e street band and he portrayed a famous mobster in the sopranos. i know when the big concert comes to gillette stadium, i'll be performing with them, this was my idea, q+bs as far back as 2002 i was writing here, there and everywhere else and all i read is that it was a bad idea etc. well over here on cape cod, especially nowadays, both bands are as popular as ever. i know most of my own original music has been recorded by bruce, i've heard some at a gas station once, "act of mercy" but I've not had the cd in hand.
i'd hate to believe that the mental health system, rodgers guardians, teams are really there to host a person up into "stardom" only to keep em on welfare...
got to live with what you can't rise above.
if you want to ride on down down into this tunnel of love...
i love jodi, we were in good spirits today after much personal tragedy (rip troy oscar mahler and clarence clemons and jodi's mom (year ago)) she thinks i would cheat and can only trust me as far as she could throw me...well, i'll be a dynamite softball/baseball pitcher and i'd still trust the next person to catch the ball too....
that's how it works.
i went to a birthday party with terry (think "backstreets" by bruce) and saw the friendliest smile from a waitress. combined with terrys penchant for horror movie talk, my zoning in on pirates vs. red sox (ws champs 2011), meeting good people, i took the bad away from the good and went back to jodi. she keeps me level headed and i get her out of the deep blue sea and drowning too. i love you jodi, i am going to marry you someday, i swear :-)
as for bruce and queen, come on guys and gals, give it a shot, queens last decade in america has been quiet, much like my music has received little attention but what attention we all have is poised to be bigger and greater things.
if you think/believe 350,000 people were big in attendance in the ukraine with q+pr along with 10 million watching, imagine bruce who always fills stadiums in europe and america along with queen for a moment. there isn't a stadium big enough! :-)
positive thoughts people, positive thoughts!
Queen is my favourite band
Deep Purple is my second
Bruce Springsteen & The E Street band is my third
but Queen + The Boss?
no way. I can't think of ONE Queen song, Bruce could do
Three words come to mind when Queen and Bruce Springsteen are mentioned together:
Hell Fucking No!
Bruce Springsteen can't pull off singing ANY of his OWN songs, much less a Queen one. He isn't compared to Bob Dylan for nothing, you know.... Neither one can sing!

The only difference is that Bob Dylan actually writes great songs.

I whole-heartedly sign my agreement to each and every word here, DragonflyTrumpeter83!! it's like you're in my head!
Sheer Brass Neck wrote: I would die happy hearing the Boss un-ironically plough his way through The Fairy Fellers Master Stroke.
ouch, i cringe. On the other hand, Paul Rogers didnt really try that either.
