What does everyone think on a new Queen Album??? With only ROGER TAYLOR and BRIAN MAY. Perhaps John Deacon muite come out of retirement??? |
Pim Derks 22.06.2011 14:59 |
Queen without Fredy and Jhon Deakon is no Queen!!!!1 |
malicedoom 22.06.2011 15:41 |
Someone drag George Michael's ass over to the studio with them, please. |
rhyeking 22.06.2011 15:49 |
Queen will live on as long as Brian, Roger and John (even in retirement) continue the legacy! As to the original question, I certainly would be up for an album of new stuff. I wouldn't even limit it to only Brian and Roger, if John didn't want to do it. Get Spike Edney's awesome piano in there too! He appeared on the "A Kind Of Magic" album, not to mention that various other artists worked Queen songs during the Freddie Mercury era, so why stop now? Artists guest on other people's album all the time. I was impressed that The Cosmos Rocks was solely Brian, Roger and Paul, and B&R have proven that they can be one-man bands, so they don't actually *need* additional musicians if they started an album. If they did, say, ten new songs and divided the singing duties between them, maybe have a duet or two, or songs like "Let Me Live" or "No One But You," where they alternate vocals, yeah, it could be quite good. The real issue, as with The Cosmos Rocks, is people's expectations. There is no denying that anything listed as "Queen" that doesn't include Freddie and/or John will be subject to backlash by "fans". I'm still amused by the reaction to TCR, where based on some people's comments, you'd think Brian, Roger and Paul drove to their house and ran over their dog. Repeatedly. The fans that are open enough to the idea of Queen without F&J will have to know that this will not be classic Queen, obviously, and should expect a sound closer to the solo albums. |
Holly2003 22.06.2011 16:19 |
They should do a spoken word concept album. Roger is particualrly good at cheeky Cockney accents and Brian does a good Southern Dandy. A science fiction theme would therefore be most appropriate. |

If it was only BM and RT, I would more than welcome a new Queen album. If it's another Queen +, forget it. I would rather they just brought out a greatest hits or something :) |
LAP 22.06.2011 21:08 |
Why bother? Unless a whole heap of unreleased tracks with Mercury on them are discovered, why bother! |
rhyeking 22.06.2011 21:11 |
An album with Bowie would probably cause my head to explode out of sheer awesomeness. |

Most Queen fans are not interested in a Queen album with no Freddie Mercury singing on it! |

If Brian May and Roger Taylor have some great new songs to offer that would be part of a new Queen album in case the original band would still exist - why not ? As a "Full-Queen" is no longer available a "Half-Queen" is better than nothing. Take those six or seven songs of "Cosmos Rocks" with little or no input from Paul Rodgers and you have half of the songs that could have been part of a real recent Queen album. |
jeffuk49 23.06.2011 04:35 |
I would love RT and BM sing there own songs for an album like gaga tymd etc and given the studio magic, sort of writers version of songs |

Brian and Roger should record an album with Taylor Hawkins and Dave Grohl.. ...and what the hell, let Jack Black take the lead vocals! |
malicedoom 23.06.2011 07:45 |
Seeing as he seems to get better and better with each passing day, Brian's guitar on... um... ANYTHING new would work for me. |

Brian should not sing on a new album, because his voice is not strong enough. Roger is the one with the distinctive and quality voice, he could do a better job. But really they need to get someone in who can not only sing, but also write music that isn't generic blues bollocks like Paul Rodgers is so fond of. |

I think a Queen+ Rebecca Black Album would have such a sucess! xD |
AlexRocks 23.06.2011 09:40 |
I think that there should be many more Queen + studio l.p.s of new songs PLUS cover versions from other artists AND re-recordings of old Queen songs...multiple versions!!!! It's SOOO much fun!!! It's not like a religion or something you know? |

LAP wrote: Most Queen fans are not interested in a Queen album with no Freddie Mercury singing on it! ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Speak for yourself! I've enjoyed all the Queen+ and post-Freddie projects of newer material and some of the Queen+ releases which were re-recordings. If you don't, that's fine, but don't assume you speak for a majority. Of the million of fans out there, all of us here represent a mere fraction and one that's by no means entirely reflective of the world at large. |

Tommilaiho 23.06.2011 12:43 |
i think it would be great if they would do a new album. I like their voices. And they can write great songs, we all know that. They are musicians , they have the right to continue their careers even though Freddie died and John retired. Writing and performing songs are their jobs, why shoud they stop doing that? They really don't need to prove anything to anybody anymore, and i doubt that they'd do anything just for the money. i think they have enough of that. Let's let these fine people do what they love to do. |
Donna13 23.06.2011 19:33 |
Yes, I think a new album is a good idea. |
ksimpson1960 23.06.2011 20:32 |
Even though Freddie's absence on a new album would be sorely missed, ..I still believe that the remainder of the band can still put out an album that could "stun" the music industry.. just by throwing in a few of Freddies' "Gallelios" here and there, and a tricky album name,( 'made in heaven' was great). ..Brian, Roger, and (hopefully) John are professionals, this can happen, but they need our support, ...not whining about ' 'no freddie/ who's gonna sing? oooo0000hhhhHHHH!!!!! ...IDIOTS!!! ; ) |
hitman1502 24.06.2011 04:23 |
I would like to hear a new Roger Taylor and a new Brian May album. They made very good music in the 90s. |
Djdownsy 24.06.2011 06:48 |
'Happiness' and 'Another World' were great albums in the 90's, but that's besides the point. I think it's a lovely idea, I'm open to anything they do, but only if they do it well, if it's a bad album due to bad lyrics and terrible instrumentation, then i'll criticise it, but these guys are perfectionist's with ample time, if they did it, id be near certain it would be one of their best albums in years. :) |
georgs1963 24.06.2011 07:21 |
Instead release another Greatest Hits, haven't had one of those in what a month? New studio album ? absurd. |
Queen1973 24.06.2011 07:40 |
Maybe a new album with other artists singing new or old queen songs. Its been 20 years since the freddie tribute so why not do a studio version album? |
Mr. Bed Guy 24.06.2011 08:49 |
My favourite idea was always a new Queen album WITH Freddie!!!!!. The guys should finish 4 or 5 of the known (or perhaps for us unknown) demos like "I Guess we're Falling Out", "Self Made Man" or whatever and make the best of it. For example I can imagine a new created "I Guess We're Falling Out" with all new verses sung by Brian or Roger and that absolutely catchy refrain by Freddie! Why not? I know that would be a great song! Then they should do a couple of new songs sung by Brian and Roger. 10 Songs = complete Album And that's absolutely NO impossible mission! People would have a feeling of a real Queen album, because in the early days they all shared the lead vocals on the records. What do you think??? |

If Queen were to release a new album, Then please get Jeff Scott Soto to do it with the guys, because paul rodgers didnt work for queen as it ws a failure for the band, yes there is a lot of good songs but it is not a queen cd, Jeff scott soto is a longterm fan ,if you listen to his stuff such as Find Our way Believe In Me Talisman - shed A tear Goodbye (jeff lead vocals) those songs are the kind its made for, even talismans 1st album is all queen influences and also the song Your Man from the truth cd by Talisman is brilliant, so queen fans should listen to his voice as he is perfect for the band JEFF ROCKS! |
Holly2003 24.06.2011 11:06 |

I'd rather see the full version of the Live Magic album, to be honest. If Brian and Roger re-instate the cuts that ruined that album, remaster it and reissue it as a double album for its 25th anniversary this Christmas, I think Queen fans would be delighted with it. The sound quality on the album is good and can be improved on. |
brian.may85 30.06.2011 04:37 |
I think new album is great idea. They should make album with Freddies voice on it, complete songs like Face It Alone, which is great track, it should be mostly instrumental song like Bijou with one verse in middle of the song... Next we have songs like Self Made Man, I Guess Were Fallin Out, Robbery, Affairs and many others from Miracle and Innuendo sessions... It would be great if Brian and Roger sing on these songs (It would be like No-One But You or Let Me Live)... They should also use Freddies unreleased tracks like Its So You or I Cant Dance... Or also Brians tracks like My Boy or something... And we cant forget Freddies duets with MJ... And they should rerecord old stuff like Hangman or Feelings, with Bri and Rog on vocals, or maybe with Tim Staffell, hes great singer, and better than Paul Rodgers... There are so many great songs... It looks like double album for me :) |

I really hope BM and RT are not stupid enough to record another "Queen" album. I'd prefer them to do new solo material or create a new BM / RT band (i.e. without pretending to be Queen). |
