Could anybody tell me how many copies of notw 3 track test press were actually made. Some sites say 300, some say 50 and some say 300 were supposed to be pressed but only 50 actually did. There is one on ebay at the moment that is saying only 50 were made and I would like a copy but not sure as to how rare it is (is it very very rare). I would add a link but not sure how to. Thank you

A tad nasty, Moog, but luckily I have heard of it - so here's the link: link
A tad overpriced IMHO.
Fuck me, that's a nice piece of vinyl rarity! They're off their rockers asking for 1500 quid though! I think even EIL would charge slightly less than that!
1500$?
I bought an east german testpressing of "A Kind Of magic" for the western german market for 150€. And before that, nobody even knew that it exists.
kind regards

nobody can tell how many copies are pressed of a test pressing unless you find the guy who actually worked that particular day at the press and saves some memories.... so almost impossible. Actually that record is very rare cause is a one sided test pressing but it seems it was used a sampler to get a preview of the new Queen album. Some says also that as the new 12" format was going to be used more and more maybe at EMI thought to release a 12".
Anyway 1500 UKP is too high. I can tell that how many copies are out but I only saw 3-4 copies on sale in the last 15 years.
As regards the other TP.. every album, single and 12" had their test pressings.. the fact that some have not circulated doesn't mean that they don't exist. a Test Pressing is a Test pressing so it's alway made to check quality, correct speed etc... so sometime more copies circulates for pre promotional purposes... sometime they remained closed in record label or managers offices for ages.
