hey folks. i'm so excited about the news that just broke into the net about Roger Taylor performing with the great Jeff Beck and also Ronnie Wood. cant wait for the bootleg of this gig in 04.june.2011.
here's what i found on youtube : link
add more links for videos , audios or any pix you found related to this show :->
Thanks for the link, hopefully more will surface!! But the Guitarist on stage with Roger is Ronnie Wood from "The Rolling Stones" & I think it's Jason Falloon on the other guitar to our right, but not Jeff Beck.
What this demonstrates once again is that Roger is an excellent lead vocalist. What they needed back in 2005 was not Paul Rodgers but instead just someone to play drums while Roger took over the lead vocals.

But Roger's drum sound is such a key element of the sound. They'd have a tough time finding someone who can recreate that.

I'm so happy you say that! Lately I've really noticed how unique Roger's drumming is. Not that he plays parts others can not play, but it's the sound he creates. All Queen-members have that in common. they're totally unique and together, ah, just pure bliss...
Hopefully the gig was bootlegged...still waiting on the battersea boot! Hopefully this one was professionally recorded like the previous Band Du Lac gig...

As long as they played all post 1982 songs, they could just use a drum machine : )
They played Days of Our Lives and Radio Ga Ga with backing drum track and they sounded awful in 2005.
In 2006 they used a pre-recorded WWRY beat to "get the crowd going" and it was LAME. Things got better when Roger started playing the beat.
How is it that ONE LITTLE ROGER TAYLOR (with two arms and two feet) sounds BIGGER than a recording of dozens of feet stomping on the ground??
I didn't attend any Queen show with Freddie (saw them 5 times with PR) but Roger's live drum sound is amazing.

Absolutely. Roger's sound is so unique, and oftern overlooked as part of the overall sound of Queen, with precedence given to Freddie and Brian's sounds.
Even with Roger's son playing Roger's own kit at one off appearances the Queen sound is simply not there, whereas as soon as Roger starts drumming it is evident.
