I'm sure this has been done before, but I'm interested in knowing everyone's favorite B-side of Queen? I love "Hijack My Heart" and "Soul Brother." |
emrabt 03.06.2011 00:38 |
In this order: My life has been saved, much better than the made in heaven version. I go crazy Hang on in there Soul Brother |
junketerQ2 03.06.2011 04:32 |
That's a tough one but gotta say Hang On In There without a doubt. Hijack My Heart & Soul Brother are also awesome & would be a close second. |
ITSM 03.06.2011 05:08 |
- Mad the Swine (if it counts, at least it's on the Headlong CD-single) - Hijack My Heart - Hang on in there (though I think of this song as an album-track. The Miracle was the first album/CD I bought) |

Tough one. I love A Dozen Red Roses For My Darling. I love Hijack My Heart. I love Hang On In There. Although I'd say these are more for nostalgia than actual artistry. |
KJ 03.06.2011 07:56 |
Hijack my Heart, great song. |

Hijack My Heart, See What Fool I've Been, I Go Crazy |
dowens 03.06.2011 08:54 |
I've always thought "Hang On In There" was part of the album, since "The Miracle" HR cd was the first album I bought. If it's considered a b-side, then add that to my list! |
malicedoom 03.06.2011 09:16 |
Another vote for "My Life Has Been Saved". I was thrilled when I saw it was included on the Made In Heaven album (it made me feel like the band appreciated it as much as I did) - even though I prefer the original version because of Brian's guitar intro and Freddie's extra ad-libbed vocals towards the end of the track. |

You're all stark raving mad !!! - not one mention of 'lily of the valley'-one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever produced. . Master marathon runner. |

Stealin' Hijack My Heart My Life Has Been Saved In fact, The Miracle sessions were pretty amazing. I Guess We're Falling Out is one of the best non-released tracks, in my opinion. Even if it sounds like a demo. Dog With A Bone is pretty ace as well. A duet between Roger and Freddie never gets old. |

I think the topic starter is referring to the B-sides that weren't on the LPs. My pick is Soul Brother. It's Queen's answer to The Beatles' Glass Onion, and all the Queen musical trademarks are there. And it's the only one of the bunch that was actually a strong enough song in its own right to be on an album. See What A Fool I've Been is a close second. Freddie's spoof vocal is nothing short of brilliant. But if we can include Hang On In There, then it's better than both of these songs combined. |

Regardless of whether they also appeared on albums or not, my favourites are (in no particular order): Flick Of The Wrist Lily Of The Valley White Queen Keep Passing The Open Windows Hijack My Heart My Life Has Been Saved From that lot, my absolute favourite is MLHBS. |

I've always considered Hang On In There a non-album b-side, as it wasn't on the vinyl or cassette release. The CD releases tended to have the b-sides & extended versions as bonus extras IMO. |
fjac1980 03.06.2011 17:58 |
Excluding B-Sides that appears on a Queen's Album ( like I'm In Love With My Car), my favourite b-sides are: 1) I GO CRAZY: Very funny lyrics, good rock. 2) HIJACK MY HEART: slow, but intense. 3) SEE WHAT A FOOL I'VE BEEN: No words to describe. |
jaq 03.06.2011 18:03 |
Mad the Swine - loved it after some resistance. Q does pubs! See what a fool Ive been - tingling sensation. burlesque turned into effing art. gypsy rose fred! i want to see the guys' faces during this take. Stealin' & dog with a bone - feel the group love. Fred 'butchers' blues again:P Appreciate the meaningful way older A-asides are used as B-sides too: like KYA for TSMGO. |

Oops, guess I should have clarified. I meant the non-album B-sides. |
rhyeking 03.06.2011 21:22 |
Hard to say, I like them all for different reasons. If I had to pick my top 3 (because everyone loves a list!): 1) I Go Crazy 2) Hang On In There 3) Hijack My Heart |
Aleks 03.06.2011 23:40 |
Soul Brother and Stealin' |
Djdownsy 04.06.2011 05:59 |

"I Go Crazy" -- Epic song! Not sure if it was ever intended as a duet with Mick Jagger... 'So I ain't gonna go and see the Rolling Stones no more / I don't wanna go and see Queen no more no more...' The live version of "Stone Cold Crazy" comes second, I guess... |
