Was just watching the brilliant Houston'77 show, and was thinking back to snippets of the documentary earlier, i.e about the quality of the recording. Firstly, whether you like the guy or not, the version I was watching was the snowproducciones version, which is the cleanest one I've seen, without the lines/jumps. Even though this footage is quite clean, there is a huge difference between this and the out-takes used on TV. For me, the booted tape looks almost like a TV broadcast, whilst the snippets on the Days documentary look cinema quality. So, what was this shot on? Was it film, or VHS or whatever? Obviously the boot, regardless of generation, will lose something in quality, I know. But some of the shots shown tonight were from different angles and just looked different film-wise, compared to the boot we all know about. Also, where did the boot come from? How did this, once relatively rare show, become so widely available, and in the quality we have now? Your answers will be much appreciated!
