Personally I'd like to see Paris '79 and Tokyo '79 officially released in this year, but not the old cut versions, I mean the complete footages. Also, at least the complete footage of the first night at the Rainbow '74, both nights at the Earls Court '77, Hammersmith Odeon '75 and '79. I guess I ask a bit too much, but wouldn't it be nice to release at least one from these concerts? It's got bored to wait for it. QP make us wait over and over again. |
dysan 26.05.2011 10:19 |
I guess the most obvious would be Hammersmith Odeon '75, with the unfilmed final encore audio featuring as music for a picture gallery. Dull, but I can imagine it working nicely. |
malicedoom 26.05.2011 12:35 |
Here's a question... are there plans to release ANY (more) concerts in the future?? It's been so long, at this point I'd be happy with any new 'official' release. |
The Real Wizard 26.05.2011 13:50 |
Realistically.. Hammersmith 75 will probably come out in full (without the second encore, presumably), but otherwise I foresee a compilation similar to the Led Zeppelin DVD from 2003. That was an excellent collection, and Jimmy really did use most of the best footage available. If Queen put out something half as good I'll be pleased. Put out a 2-hour compilation of the three Paris '79 shows and I'll be like a kid on xmas morning. They have the multi-track audio, so it's possible. |

Hyde Park 1976. For the setlist, the stage presentation, the wonderful camera angles, the audience, the atmosphere and its historic value. In sum: it should be freed from the dusty archives. |
The Real Wizard 26.05.2011 15:50 |
Yeah, if only ! A two disc set of Hammersmith and Hyde Park would be stellar. Along with Boston '76 and the 4 or 5 excellent audience recordings from Japan, this time period would be very adequately documented. |
moonie 26.05.2011 18:12 |
Yeah, I'd like to see a nice Hyde Park.. We have a decent Houston, Earls Court etc....There is a better version out there than the one we've all got. It's a low gen later convention copy. The QTV symbol is in script as opposed to straight block caps. I believe an old Queenzoner called Kevo had a copy of it..He had screenshots on his website.. I emailed him about a possible trade but never heard from him.. |
The Real Wizard 26.05.2011 18:21 |
I think I have this copy, and it's still no better than the others. Don't let small screenshots fool you :-) |

I still think the best thing would be a double 2-disc edition of Live at the Hammersmith 1975 and 1979. People can prepare the performances in the same place and notice how much Queen changed in 4 years. Also, 1979 has a perfect setlist with enough of the hits for new fans and the classics for old fans. |

Eh, I doubt they'll release the Paris gigs because of Freddie's weak voice. I mean cmon, if I was Freddie, I wouldn't want that stuff released let alone brought to the public. |
Gregsynth 26.05.2011 20:50 |
The Paris gigs may not have Freddie in the best voice--but damn--the musical performances were top notch! |
The Real Wizard 26.05.2011 21:50 |
Exactly. If they have three nights to pick from, they'd still be able to create a good compilation. The logic of a Hammersmith 75/79 DVD is good, but I'd still be happier with Hyde Park. I'm even happy with the audience recording of the 79 show. There are many copies of Hyde Park floating around but none are really satisfying. |
MERQRY 26.05.2011 22:07 |
it's just an impossible but i would like it much if the 31th march 1974 rainbow show was founded and released someday Being realistic Hyde Park is a good option cause i think... of the 150.000/200.000 people who asisted to the gig, at least 100.000 are alive and i belive they and much more people (like the majory of QZ and the stupid russian boy called "hangman2001" ) will to buy the dvd if QP release it... |

Yeah but to me, the performances at Hammy 1979 were top notch and at Hyde Park the band and especially Freddie seemed to have a little bit of nervousness to them (just compare that performance to Edinburgh). I saw we should get both! Honestly, I wouldn't care that much if they released Hammersmith 1975 as we've already seen it in stellar quality and the show is so short so it seems like it wouldn't make the best release. |

Hangman2011 26.05.2011 22:37 |

Wiley 26.05.2011 22:43 |
The same ones I wanted them to release back in 1992, when I became a fan... |
tman77 26.05.2011 22:57 |
All of these in High Definition would be SPECTACULAR!!!!! I'd be much happier spending money on that instead of the Queen catalogue for the 4th time... Please listen to the fans!!! |

Hammersmith 79 is the icing on the cake of the 70's! so, is a great choise... and would be great have these gig full... with mustapha, the solo, spread your wings, bohemian rhapsody,if you can't beat them, etc i think these release would be great even without the multitracks... |

You can't blame them. The excellent audio fragments we have sound top-notch. The full thing would be a dream come true. |

That said I'd still like to get hold of that version. It seemed a little brighter if nothing else. If anyone is prepared to trade or share it please let me know. |
Hangman_96 27.05.2011 08:29 |
Ah, I forgot to mention Hyde Park and Houston. These ones would be a great double-DVD release. If we were 100% sure that Hyde Park is in very good quality, that would be ideal. |
Isle0fRed 27.05.2011 11:51 |
All of the above on 2 BluRay discs in it native resolutions in DTS MA 7.1 |

QPL PLEASE All concerts in one bottle without cuts and without reserve AND PLEASE IN THIS YEAR 2011 we want to see it or at least one concert from 70's era |
vince73 28.05.2011 10:04 |
mmm I guess... we'll see some kind of Hammersmith 75 combo with the new documentary to be broadcasted soon in the next year. |
john bodega 28.05.2011 12:01 |
I think anyone expecting multiple concerts (in full) is in need of a full-on fucking reality check. We'll be lucky to get a compilation, but honestly this doesn't bother me - as long as it's done well. I will personally start shooting a badger every fucking night until Brian May pulls his head out of his arse and goes back to what he's good for - selling Queen stuff. |
