Ok whos heard this track and is it just brian may playing guitar, did he write any lines? Is it like Queens version? Will he be in the video if theres a single release?
Funny that this song should be made a topic. It was sung by Haley on American Idol yesterday.
No, the song was not released as a single. Haley was criticized for choosing an unfamiliar song.
You can check out the performance on IDOLONFOX and probably Youtube.
The Lady Ga Ga song "You And I" has nothing to do with Brian or Queen. The title is the same as John's song from Races, but there are no other similarities. She wrote her song herself and it was produced by Mutt Lange. If not for the title, I wouldn't have bothered looking it up.
Lady Ga Ga strikes again. She just had a surprise performance today on national television in the USA on the Oprah Winfrey show. She sang a medley of Born This Way and You and I. That makes 2 significant back to back broadcasts of the You and I song (as stated earlier for the American Idol contestant the night before). Her album will be released May 23rd - so these sneak peeks are all part of the roll out. By the way she sang the song from a giant high heeled shoe made into a piano - with possibly the tallest piano bench I've ever seen. It was such a spectacle to behold between that and her roach hat/hair face mask that I couldn't actually tell too much about the song.
Also, I don't even know why I know this!!
Read through the thread and still am not seeing any actual confirmation. All it is is people discussing the song.
I looked through Brian's site and found the following:
"There are even rumours of a collaboration with Lady Gaga on her next album, Born This Way." (April 27th)
That's from an article where Brian is actually quoted about the FM movie, Kerry Ellis and the 40th Anniversary. Yet, he's not asked about or doesn't comment on a collaboration with a big-name star? This, from the guy who collaborates with a lot of other artists and keeps the fans up-to-date about each one on his site?
So please, Yannick, enlighten me. What did I miss? Where is it confirmed?
I crave knowledge! I MUST KNOW!
:-)
I was referring to your first post in this topic, you didn't know anything about the rumor and I think you thought the thread starter was a bit of a loony.
More accurately, I heard the rumour for the first time today (this thread), looked into it (independently of the thread you later shared because I didn't know of its existence) and determined that there was nothing to it.
My intention wasn't to insult the original poster, but to assure him that the rumour seems to have no basis. If anything, not knowing about the previous discussion allowed me to not be affected by the rumour.
My thoughts were along the lines of:
"Oh, did Brian guest on that song? Did LGG cover the Queen song? Worth looking into..."
Looked into it and found nothing.
"Okay, I guess there was mix up and the Original Poster may be working on incorrect info, better tell him what I found and hope it helps!"
Ah, well there we go!
And no, unlike normal, I haven't been paying attention this last month to anything outside being with my family dealing with a sudden death. Hence the lack of posts by me since the end of March until recently.

I don't think your reply to the originator sounded insulting. When I read your reply I took it as you honestly didn't know. BTW Sorry for your loss and welcome back.
