Folks! Play.com has obvioulsy revealed the bonus tracks for the 2nd batch of the 2011 remasters: If these are the real trackslists, then we certainly can look forward for the releases!! News Of The World 1. Feelings Feelings (Take 10, July 1977) 2. Spread Your Wings (BBC Session, October 1977) 3. My Melancholy Blues (BBC Session, October 1977) 4. I just received an email from the following store - which has the same information... link |

A boring mess. Again, just 2 interesting tracks |
dysan 05.05.2011 05:31 |
Not too bad, but FFS what's with the live tracks from different eras? The whole 77 BBC session needs to come out and this is the perfect opportunity. The US Staying Power would've been good. Some interesting unreleased stuff there. Wave 3 should be amazing. |
Holly2003 05.05.2011 05:33 |
No real logic to any of the bonus tracks but a few are more interestng than the first batch. I'd like to hear: Feelings Feelings (Take 10, July 1977) Don't Stop Me Now (With Long-Lost Guitars) ----> most interesting of all the bonus tracks so far Dreamers Ball (Early Acoustic Take, August 1978) Sail Away Sweet Sister (Take 1 With Guide Vocal, February 1980) It's A Beautiful Day (Original Spontaneous Idea, April 1980) The Hero (October 1980... Revisited) The Kiss (Early Version, March 1980) Football Fight (Early Version, No Synths! - February 1980) All the live versions are fine but should be included on proper, full live releases. |
bigV 05.05.2011 05:34 |
As I wrote elsewhere - they could and SHOULD have released the 2000 Club Mix of "Under Pressure". That's arguably the most interesting official remix of a Queen song and it still hasn't seen a CD release. Lost opportunity indeed... V. |

Back Chat (Single Remix) - - 7" or 12" ?? |

This is the stuff we've been craving for years. As long as they keep including material like this instead of new a capella or vocal+guitar mixes, etc etc, I'll be satisfied. I don't even mind the inclusion again and again of material from MK and now Montreal. It was predictable. But this new move wasn't. So, at last, I can show a thumb up !! The material listed above is the prove of how glorious the long-awaited anthology could be. It is also clear that all the BBC stuff will be packed together sooner or later for a proper release. |
ole-the-first 05.05.2011 06:26 |
Better than first 5 albums bonus tracks, because there's even some stuff I never heard about (demos/alternate versions of Don't Stop Me Now, Football Fight, Dreamer's Ball etc). But actually it could be much better. |
Kacio 05.05.2011 06:28 |
Me with this parties remastered interested : Don't Stop Me Now (With Long-Lost Guitars) Sail Away Sweet Sister (Take 1 With Guide Vocal, February 1980) It's A Beautiful Day (Original Spontaneous Idea, April 1980) The Hero (October 1980... Revisited) The rest, unfortunately, did not surprise me ... I hope the last batch reamsterów from The Works Made In Heaven gave something really unknown ... something really cool, and not just some vocal & guitar |

This first batch wasn't to interessting .. these release looks a bit better! However.... Hot Space 1. Staying Power (Live at Milton Keynes Bowl, June 1982) (again?? live at the bowl cd???) 2. Soul Brother (B-Side) ( already available) 3. Back Chat (Single Remix) ( could be nice.) 4. Action This Day (Live in Tokyo, November 1982) ( NEW!!!!) 5. Calling All Girls (Live in Tokyo, November 1982) (AGAIN?? already on the bowl DVD??) So really one new song) Shame on QP |

dysan 05.05.2011 07:23 |
Generally good feedback. I think I'm more excited by these than the last batch now. A shame it hints they have listened to the fans and added unreleased takes - an opportunity missed for the first batch now. |

Just looking at the list of extra songs for the next release it looks as if queen are just teasing us.....a mixture of unheard tracks, Live tracks in great quality, live tracks we have already got in great quality and tracks we have and therefore havent the need to be on their.....but remember these remasters of these albums are for both the newcomers and die hard fans, so a mixture of songs most of us have heard and have in other collections will be there, its just a shame their not releasing any dates for this long overdue Queen Anthology....I got sick of waiting I created my own for each album,.. Contents Disc One - CD Digital Remaster of Original Master from Multi Track Tapes Disc Two - DVD Original Master from Vinyl recorded at 192hz 24bits. Newly produced visual accompanying audio from unseen material of the sessions. Disc Three - CD Instrumentals,Singles and remixes from the Album Disc Four - CD Rarities - Demos and B-sides from album sessions Disc Five - CD Rarities - Early Versions of songs and Out takes from sessions Disc Six - CD Live versions of the Songs handpicked from every Queen Concert. Song picked not on audio quality but on best performance of song. Along with any interviews in audio format... 10 releases (two are Live), 7 of the releases contain two studio albums that compliment each other and are packaged in a leather bound book, one album has a seperate release....in the book is artwork concept photos and any relevant print for that studio session for that album....also included album covers from around the world..... ....anyone interested in finding out details can email me at Pestgrid@aol.com |
dysan 05.05.2011 08:37 |
I was thinking that was a bit over the top - but if each set contained 2 albums (is that what you meant?) I could see that working nicely. If clumsily. |
Rick 05.05.2011 08:48 |
Another live version of Action This Day! Great! I really hope Roger's vocal can be heard well enough. I think they did a pretty bad job with the MK version. |
jamster1111 05.05.2011 09:00 |
This........SUCKS!!!!!!!! QPL? Why can't you get your fucking heads out of your asses!!!! I sure hope this isn't the final choice of tracks. Action this Day from Tokyo 1982....are you kidding me? That's the worst version of the song and there's nothing surprising on any of these tracks!!!! Please tell me this is a bad dream. |
JamesCore88 05.05.2011 09:41 |
For someone else it might be interesting but bonus tracks from Hot Space IS NOT interesting at all, for me of course... By the way, Back Chat (Single Remix) will be from 7'' SP release I guess (because we have it on the Singles Box Set -))) |

I, too, just got the email and the bonus track lists. As with the first 5, there are at least a few tracks on each I'm really excited about. Mostly, it's the live tracks from released concerts (Milton Keynes, Montreal...) that don't do a whole lot for me, but I'll add them to the collection. Naturally, the demos/outtakes are far more my cup of tea: NOTW Feelings Feelings(Take 10, July 1977) - Great! Spread Your Wings (BBC Session, October 1977) - Good to have! My Melancholy Blues (BBC Session, October 1977) - Good to have! Sheer Heart Attack (Live in Paris, February 28 1979) - Okay (is this from Live Killers...anyone?) We Will Rock You (Fast) (Live in Tokyo, November 1982) - Okay, I think I have this on the VHS Jazz 1. Fat Bottomed Girls (Single Version) - No surprise, but already have it 2. Bicycle Race (Instrumental) - Probably will be cool, like the SSOR, TYMD and YMBF instrumentals 3. Don't Stop Me Now (With Long-Lost Guitars) - Great! 4. Let Me Entertain You (Live in Montreal, November 1981) - Got it on the actual live album 5. Dreamers Ball (Early Acoustic Take, August 1978) - Great! The Game: 1. Save Me (Live in Montreal, November 1981) - Got it 2. A Human Body (B-Side) - No surprise, but saves me getting the Singles Collection to get it remastered! 3. Sail Away Sweet Sister (Take 1 With Guide Vocal, February 1980) - Great! 4. It's A Beautiful Day (Original Spontaneous Idea, April 1980) - REALLY Great! 5. Dragon Attack (Live at Milton Keynes Bowl, June 1982) - Got It Flash Gordon: 1. Flash (Single Version) - No surprise 2. The Hero (October 1980… Revisited) - Great! 3. The Kiss (Early Version, March 1980) - Great! 4. Football Fight (Early Version, No Synths! -February 1980) - Great! 5. Flash (Live in Montreal, November 1981) - Got it! 6. The Hero (Live in Montreal, November 1981) - Got it! Hot Space: 1. Staying Power (Live at Milton Keynes Bowl, June 1982) - Got it 2. Soul Brother (B-Side) - No surprise, but good to have remastered on CD 3. Back Chat (Single Remix) - No surprise 4. Action This Day (Live in Tokyo, November 1982) - Okay 5. Calling All Girls (Live in Tokyo, November 1982) - Okay, but already have it from the MK DVD (photo gallery track) |

The video of the Paris version has circulated for years, and it is really badass - Brian breaks a string half way through and makes noises for the rest of the song ... Queen and punk unite. It'll be great to hear this in top quality. "We Will Rock You (Fast) (Live in Tokyo, November 1982) - Okay, I think I have this on the VHS" Nope, this was cut from the official release. I don't know what some of you guys are complaining about - this is spectacular. There are a dozen interesting tracks in here. They could throw in Freddie Mercury's ashes as a bonus feature and you guys would still be whining about their colour. |

Great extras! An improvement on the first batch. Have you noticed how QP usually has a crappy first batch and then improves on following releases? Another example that comes to mind is GVH1 vs GVH2. Sometimes I wished they would release batches backwards so we would get a kick ass release from the 70s. Only track I missed was Staying Power's 12" remix from the U.S. |

This is SHIT. What good does all this stuff from Rock Montreal and the Bowl do for us? And WWRY Fast and Action This Day from 11/3? Why would they take any songs from that gig when they can take us stuff from Hammy 1979 for example and they took NOTHING from there. Honestly, who do they think they are making happy with these tracks? It just seems like they're too lazy to give us good stuff or they just have no idea what most people want. And we're not really asking for much so don't be ridiculous with that ashes comment. I'll were asking is for stuff we HAVEN'T heard either at all or in top quality....like stuff from the UK 1978 tour or Hammersmith 1979 or even Houston...If they're gonna pick live versions of songs, why do they pick it from what we already have? To me it doesn't make sense. Out of all of them, Paris's Sheer Heart Attack is the most interesting but still not anything of what I expected. Let's hope for some good bonus videos. But seriously, spectacular? This is even worse than the first wave of bonus tracks. |

All in all, I'm happy with the selection, though there are other tracks I'd have chosen and maybe fewer live tracks (just my taste, I want to hear more studio out-takes). Cool Cat (with Bowie) There Must Be More To Life Than This (Queen Version) Sex Show (Demo) I Go Crazy (Hot Space Instrumental) |

I agree with SirGH. Some of these bonuses sound great! In the band's eyes, we *SHOULDN'T & DON'T* have all the demos, live tracks and BBC recordings that have just been bootlegged. Also, all of these things will be in FAR GREATER quality than we've heard before. I can see about 15 things on the list that are going to be new or at least substantial quality upgrades to what we already have. That ain't half bad considering they've got to cater for everyone with these bonus EPs. So they included a couple of previously released live tracks. Who cares? No-one is forcing you to buy these. If you only want 1 or 2 bonus tracks, get 'em from iTunes. The Flash Gordon bonuses are much more interesting than I expected, but the Hot Space EP looks a little lacklustre IMO. |

Assuming that Milton Keynes and Tokyo 82 are the only two multi-tracks they have from 1982, what previously unreleased live Hot Space track would have been better? The answer - this is likely all they have ! It was either Body Language or this, and I doubt they would release the former with that aforementioned vocal performance from Freddie, clearly exhausted at the end of the tour. The show does have many great moments, and Action This Day is still a great version. Sure, Freddie didn't hit the higher notes like he did at Milton Keynes, but for the millionth time ... THERE IS MORE TO LIVE PERFORMANCES THAN THE NOTES A SINGER HITS! I'll be happy to have it. In high quality it's going to sound great. |

Apparently, Jamster1111 hasn't heard some of the North American versions (where Freddie cracks on random notes). That Tokorozawa version is actually pretty good (considering Freddie's voice was blown), plus the Japan versions have tighter instrumentation, and more creative note choices towards the end of the song. |

Milton Keynes and Tokyo are the only multitracks they have? Didn't they record EVERY single show? And what concerts DO they have the multitracks for? In other words, what concerts from the 70's and 80's are capable of being released?... So if they don't have them for Hammersmith 1979, does that mean that show is NEVER going to be released?...that's a disappointment that will never be able to see such great performances in better quality just because they have to have the multitracks. |

Anyway since they release Keep yourself alive and the other de lane lea demos with the needle sound they could release Save me from the soundboard master... * The footage of hammersmith 79 is in Excellent Quality! yes the anthology I have made have two studio albums in a leatherbound book, each album covers half the book and they are flipped, so once youve read the one side, flip it over and the other album is there..... |
Daniel Nester 05.05.2011 21:40 |
It's Late single version would have been nice, too. |
Daniel Nester 05.05.2011 21:45 |
I think this is a much more surprising batch of re-releases and bonus tracks than the first five. Psyched. Onto the box sets! |
Sebastian 05.05.2011 23:21 |
Bonus tracks for Jazz, Game and Flash will be great. News and Hot Space - disappointing IMO. |
tonyyy 06.05.2011 02:21 |
Nice! I'm really happy about this release. I thought it would have been worst. I especially like the bonus tracks of 1) NOTW 2) The Game and Jazz But I think I'll buy all of them... Tony My webpage: link |

I think that there are some interesting tracks...we were always going to get live tracks as fillers! Nice to see the Live Killers multi tracks coming out the vault on SHA. I think some members need to appreciate that with such a back catalogue and body of unreleased work, tracks are not going to be issued from the vaults ad hoc on these remasters. In my opinion, the Queen catalogue remains the most important to have not had an anthology style release...but I think we are closer than we have ever been to seeing that happen. Remember that an anthology box has been mentioned as far back as 1990....I'm sure we can wait a year or so more until it finally happens. The remasters would be the natural first step moving to a new label and rerelease the bread and butter GH1 & 2 albums as has happened. I think we will get a live collection / box, a release to sweep up all the single mixes / extended mixes etc and then what we have all been waiting for...the unreleased / alternative versions in a seperate release. Don't be surprised though if they are released in album format again like the reissues and we end up having to buy the bloody original album again! I won't go in to what should and shouldn't be in there...that has been discussed at great lengths on the forums. I'm sure that there are a few more surprises to come....and let's not forget some more live dvd's / blu ray releases. Personally, I would love anything new form the 70's and in particular...Houston 77. Be patient my friends...a little bit longer....I think the wait could be nearly over! |

My real complaint is that they didn't use the second CD to its full potential or capacity. Why put 5-6 tracks on there when they could have put twice as much. That's a waste of CD space and cruel to the hardcore fans. V. |
cmsdrums 06.05.2011 04:30 |
The one failry obvious omission is the BBC Sessions version of it's Late. Very odd, especially as that's such a good version too. To comment on the people who say that Hammy O 1979 gig will never be released cos they don't have the master audio tapes; I thnk that was always an issue, but I see it as less of one now as they were happy to release a MONO version of Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy on the ADATR reissue, and that sounds absolutely great, so I'm looking on the bright side and hoping that Brian is unclenching a bit on that front. |
Sebastian 06.05.2011 04:44 |
One mono bonus track doesn't imply they'll release a full CD/DVD out of a stereo tape. |

Hi Jamster, Looks we are the only two who are a bit dissapointed. Could you compile a list what you loved to see as the bonus tracks and post it here? Thanks |

Rhye King: Sex Show (Demo) ??? I've never heard/read about this one. What do you know about it? Thanks! |
jammythedodger 06.05.2011 07:19 |
Wasn't Sex Party the improv they tried in Montreal before KYA? Brian mentioned it on the commentary on the BR |
rhyeking 06.05.2011 09:31 |
On the Queen Rock Montreal commentary, as the band plays that bit right before "Keep Yourself Alive," Brian identifies it as a track Freddie wrote called "Sex Show". He says they even recorded a version of it. In the performance itself, Freddie sings the line "Sex show...!" just as they transition into KYA. I'm not sure which period "Sex Show" would date from, but my guess would be either the 1980 Game sessions or mid-1981 Hot Space session (I tend to lean toward the latter). It's funkiness seems to lend itself to where they were headed eventually with Hot Space. Those sessions would have given us the following tracks: Under Pressure Cool Cat Soul Brother There Must Be More To Life Than This (according to the FM box) Sex Show (or Sex Party) |
joesilvey 06.05.2011 09:50 |
Overall, i'm pleased with the bonus content in wave 2... though i agree the previously released live tracks from Montreal and Milton Keynes are pointless. what i REALLY hoped to see (besides It's A Beautiful Day original idea - very happy about that) was Rock It (Prime Jive) with Freddie's vocals... |

This is so much better than the first batch. Feelings Feelings (Take 10, July 1977) (Is it different to the one we know?) Don't Stop Me Now (With Long-Lost Guitars) (AWESOME!!) Dreamers Ball (Early Acoustic Take, August 1978) (AWESOME!!) Sail Away Sweet Sister (Take 1 With Guide Vocal, February 1980) (AWESOME!!) It's A Beautiful Day (Original Spontaneous Idea, April 1980) (The one I've been waiting for FOREVER!! AWESOME!!) The Hero (October 1980... Revisited) (Great!) The Kiss (Early Version, March 1980) (Great!) Football Fight (Early Version, No Synths! - February 1980) (Awesome!) None of the Hot Space or NOTW tracks are that interesting, other than Feelings, Feelings. Let's just hope that the Montreal tracks are different to the released versions. |

This batch looks better than the previous one. On the other hand, I am still absolutely unable to understand why the 160 minutes of 2 CDs were not used in their entirety or at least up to common double CD's standards. Cheers, Ogre- |

There was a similar discussion when Rykodisc reissued Bowie's 70's work in 1990. If they stuck the 6 bonus songs onto the end of the album and released them as single discs (something I would favour, TBH) People would complain (quite rightly I suppose) that it compromises the integrity of the original album. Gist: They can't win either way. |

A much more satisfactory effort in terms of the bonus tracks than what was on the first wave. If we remember that these are "Bonus EPs" as opposed to a collection designed to exhaust the archive, then it's pretty decent. All of this stuff is likely to also be available on any box set that gets released I would imagine. So, looking forward to Torrenting them when they become available as with the first wave. |
dysan 07.05.2011 12:06 |
Good point - I imagine we'll be treated to all the tracks being compiled once the original 2 disc sets are deleted. I wouldn't mind that to be honest. |

Quite a decent effort I think. Maybe it's possible they're saving a lot of the unheard gems for re-working for the upcoming Forever Queen album and are just drip feeding us slowly with some additional bonus material to tide us over until the big one.... |
