Four topics about dead public figures are on the first page of the personal forum at the moment. And that's only the first page. Maybe you'd be better off just making a thread about deaths so you can update it every time someone new dies.
Richard, Blue Peter is a childrens magazine program from the BBC. Since it began in the 50's or 60's, it has always had a dog or a cat (or both) as the shows onscreen pet. Mabel is just the latest in a long line of pets to die from the show....
That means Children will be treated to the show opening like this:
Sad voiced presenter:
Hello, we must start the show off on a very sad note, Mable the blue peter dog died over the weekend due to complications brought on by being left in the empty studio while we were in south Africa. Later in the show we'll be showing a montage of footage of our beloved Mable, throughout the years, very much getting in the way. To honour Mable we will now give a 30 second silence.
Presenters persona suddenly changes to being over-the-top happy:
Well, coming up on the show well be showing you what happened when I learnt to Tightrope walk over the grand canyon.
You can make your very own Doctor Who toilet roll tube cybermen, and the Carrot orchestra will be right here, performing LIVE in the studio!

PS. I have no fucking clue who this dog is, nor its significance. Care to enlighten me? :P
