Gary Mullen and the Works have been touring the USA since February ... finally tonight they came here and I was able to rock to their excellent show. Their flyer says "He Will Rock You" and I can confirm he delivered! His voice soared and the crowd roared for more and more. Whether it was Fat Bottomed Girls, Radio Ga Ga, Save Me and on and on and on - the American audience loved it. Gary said "I'm going to count to 3 and if everyone is not on their feet - the show ENDS!" Needless to say we were all up and moving. Gary is amazing and an all around nice guy. After rocking us for 2 hours he signed autographs for everyone. I was able to talk to him briefly at the signing table and I thanked him for bringing his show to the USA. if you're thinking about seeing him at some point in the future - go and enjoy it. |

We were rockin' in our seats, in the aisles, at the stage and in the balconies ... so I did not have pen & paper to keep track but this is what I remember. Keep Yourself Alive Seven Seas of Rhye Another One Bites The Dust Hammer to Fall Killer Queen Save Me You're My Best Friend Under Pressure Love of My Life Fat Bottomed Girls Now I'm Here Jailhouse Rock Tie Your Mother Down Innuendo Bohemian Rhapsody Radio Ga Ga Who Wants to Live Forever The Show Must Go On WWRY WATC Crazy Little Thing Called Love Procession (taped) Flash (taped) Hope I did not forget anything! I was wearing my Don't Stop Me Now t-shirt and Gary noticed and said, "I didn't sing it tonight!" That's OK Gary - I was not disappointed! I was thrilled with everything. Wish there had been time for Stone Cold Crazy, Son & Daughter and Liar. Loved it. |

Why would you want the autograph of a tribute act/impersonator? |

It just sent a charge through me to hear this live. As for SCOLLINS ... some will never be satisfied with anything other than the real Queen (don't we all want it!). But until reincarnation actually occurs ... what avenues do we have to enjoy this music? Sit at home by myself night after night and listen or get out with others and attend someone who is trying to get these songs out there in a live way? I'll be honest, I waited and waited to buy a ticket, unsure if I wanted to go, and at the last minute I bought the ticket and went by myself - but the minute I got there, fans were everywhere and ready to rock and suddenly so was I. I have a real NEED to hear these songs played LIVE and enjoyed in the present with others who care about the same music. The response to the show in the States has been positive and that just proves that people just want to hear Queen and share in it anyway they can. So I give my thanks and appreciation to Gary Mullen and the Works. Their passion for the material and care in delivery, lighting, staging etc is noted. Does anyone know of any Queen cover bands who focus upon early Queen? Is anyone out there covering songs like LIAR, Son & Daughter, Flick of the Wrist, Stone Cold Crazy , Father to Son.... etc? Please advise - because I'll work their show into a future visit to the UK. |

He shook my hand, greeted me warmly, talked to me about the music. That's the reason we were both there for ONE NIGHT OF QUEEN. Thanks again Gary ... you're an ACE! |

I actually don't understand the need for autographs from any person. If I had the good fortune to meet Brian (for example), I'd definitely be up for shaking his hand - MAYBE pose for a photo - but most of all I'd rather thank the guy for being such a badass. I've seen tribute people sign autographs before. I've even done it myself (cough), although frankly it felt a bit weird writing "Brian" all of the time. As has been said further up the page, it mostly just offers a chance for fans to talk about the music, with the people who've been playing it all night. I've had a lot of great conversations with people at these gigs - their love of the music is palpable. |

I have a Ottawa Senators hockey jersey autographed by most of the 2006 team that somebody bought me as a gift that I treasure, and an autographed puck and some autographed books as well. The only music related item I have is one from a Canadian legend type person that nobody would know here, and it's also the only one that I stood in person for and had autographed in front of me. Paradoxically, it's the item that is least special to me. Actually standing there gives a sense of the essential hollowness of exchanging pleasantries with an absolute stranger and having him personalize something for somebody he doesn't know from Adam. A photo for me would be even worse for the same reasons. The autographs I got at arm's length I'm able to enjoy because the specialness comes in large part from the fact that somebody who presumably cares about me stood in line or sought something out in order to give me something meaningful and unique. I could happily get autographs for other people in the same spirit. Thanking Brian is precisely what I'd do with my few moments with him if I had them. It would be a precious piece of time with somebody who has indirectly given me so much and all I'd want to do is find some small way to give back while asking nothing. Of course many of the opportunities for autographs and such are expected parts of his work and he'd probably hate for them to disappear entirely, so I'm only talking about myself here, and not intending to devalue anybody else's photos and autographs etc. I actually have admiration for people who can be a little more relaxed and less shy or whatever about this kind of thing. |

Brian would be very lucky to get a picture of himself with you, and it would be very nice of you to autograph it for him, provided he covers the costs of shipping and handling. |
