You can hear at begining that HE is the one that has this picture in his mind of how the song should be, when the guitar should come in etc. You cant argue that he truely was the leader of this band.
Here it is , by daverfuller link
This really is becoming boring - can't you see from your last thread that the debate fizzling out? It's been days since anyone wanted to say anything else about it! And even at that, why didn't you just post this on there?
But, since you've taken the time to try and create a small spark, I can only answer with this example, from a mate's band from years ago. Whilst they were recording their demo tracks, Scott - the lead singer (and also a guitarist), but NOT the leader - would guide the others through songs that he had written, telling them where bass, drums etc should come in AND the sort of sounds he wanted from them. GUIDE is the key word, but they could alter bits and pieces, and they would always come to agreement on what sounded best. However, on songs that the other guys wrote, THEY would guide Scott on where his guitar should come in, how his voice suited etc and they would all come to agreement.
That's how it works mate, just because you've found a few clips where Freddie is guiding the others doesn't mean that he is the LEADER, they would all have their chance of showing one another.
Haven't you heard the interviews where even Freddie states that he's not the leader? If not, I'll try posting a link later...
This is so fucking stupid. You have clearly never been part of a truly functioning creative team - maybe in Treasure Moment you've got a leader and a follower, and there's no byplay or proper collaboration, but with actual musicians there's a bit of give and take. They call them 'bands' and 'groups' for a reason, you schmuck. You seem pretty comfortable to write off the other 3 as session musicians, but that's just not the way it was. It's truly hilarious just how wrong you are, especially considering that Queen is (allegedly) your favourite band.
It doesn't even cross your thick mind that maybe this song was Freddie's to begin with; perhaps on the other demos, Brian or Roger are the ones setting the tone. Or perhaps there's songs of Freddie's where they had ideas? What about when Brian sang on the demo of Hitman - a scratch vocal can actually be a source of ideas for the final take, y'know. Was it Freddie who stayed up late nights putting Prophet's Song together? Nope - Brian mapped it out, and then Freddie sang on it, adding his own feel, just the same way that Freddie wrote songs that the others contributed to in the recording process.
Are you really this stupid, or is it just an act? Is it actually impossible for you to comprehend a four-way creative endeavour?
