If there was to be a tour this year what and who would you like to see as part of the whole thing? Along with Roger and Brian get Spike Edney for piano and keyboard stuff and if they really cant get John Deacon for Bass then get Danny Miranda again and maybe some guest singers and get Rufus on drums so Roger can sing a bit more and we can hear his great voice For a playlist some of the hits would be good as well as maybe some lesser known tracks but it would depend on how keen Roger adn Brian are to do the rarely heard stuff I know that I would definetly go if they did decide to do a tour!!! |

I think there is a distinct possibility of a kind of Fred tribute part 2 for charity where you'll see a host of big names singing and playing with the band. I'd love to see Deacy up there but fat chance really. However it would be good to see the band from the last couple of tours with singers like Robbie Williams, George Michael, PR (of course) and some others. Late summer Wembley stadium anyone ? |
plumrach 24.03.2011 07:48 |
I doubt if there would be a tour maybe a couple of dates at wembley to celebrate the life of queen and to remember freddie |

If there was a tour, they'd never come to Perth and I'd have to resort to watching shitty Youtube videos of the gigs. So I'd be happy if Brian and Rog just did a Youtube tour. Do some videos in a studio somewhere, put that up. Happy Birthday Queen. They can hash out old songs in any fashion they see fit. Boom. It's got to be cheaper than even a low-key tour. |

There will be no tour celebrate Queen's 40th, but Brian has hinted at a "One Off!!!" gig :- here's what he had to say in an Iterview with the "RAF news" regarding Paul Rodgers & the "One Off gig":- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Freddie died in 1991 - Brian said he thinks about Freddie every day - and in 2005 former Free and Bad Company lead vocalist Paul Rodgers joined Brian and drummer Roger Taylor to tour with Queen. Brian said: "It was really good for Paul and for us to do that, but we have no plans at the moment to collaborate again." Neither do they plan any more live shows with another lead singer, although Brian revealed they might get together for a one-off gig to celebrate Queen's 40th anniversary this year. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It sounds like No Paul & for that matter no Queen+ for this "One Off Gig" I would imagine that if this gig does happen, it will be after Brian & Kerry's RAF Cranwell concert. |

Ugh. I hope someone spreads a rumour about Kerry Ellis and gets her locked up in quarantine by the World Health Organisation. Not forever - just until Brian retires. |

Getting PR would be good, he did a decent job on the last tour so why not!!! |

right............Roger played every single second of drums for the Q+PR gigs, especially when he stood at the front of the stage and did various LVs...............wouldn't be right to have someone else play skins..........oy |

The SAS gig booked for 25th November at some club, maybe that will be the huge celebration. |

Every time I hear about Brian and Roger maybe doing a "one-off" show for the 40th anniversary, it scares me. This "one-off" show would most definitely be in the UK and unfortunately I live in California and don't have the funds to be flying halfway around the world :( If they decide to play, I pray they'll have maybe a few shows in Europe and then a couple in the United States, preferably on the west coast, either San Fransisco or Los Angeles. If I could see Brian May and his Special Red with my own eyes... well, there's no expression that really equals that want, that need, accurately. God damn, do I love Queen. |
the dude 1366 24.03.2011 19:05 |
It did work well ENOUGH with Paul. It has to be one male singer. |
Back2TheLight 24.03.2011 21:31 |
In recent interviews with both Brian and Roger, it seems that Brian has no interest in doing any kind of a tour, with or without a guest singer. Roger has claimed he wants to work with Brian and do shows as Queen, and hates doing the 'one-off' shows. Honestly, I wouldn't count on seeing them live on a grand scale like they did with Paul Rodgers again. It's a pipe dream. I saw Queen and Paul Rodgers back in 2006 in San Diego, and that show whooped some serious ass, I have to say. So the question is not can they do it, it's will they do it. And honestly, I don't think the want is there so much from Brian, so it seems that no, it won't happen. |
guild93 24.03.2011 23:18 |
Yes I was at San Diego too, Brians playing was on absolute fire, I could have bootlegged that show but it was a bit hard from the front row lol Roger was asked about live work in the QOL interview and said "Watch this space" but I'll beleive it when it happens, always seems Roger is the driver and Brian needs convincing. |

Roger up front Singing while say "Rufus" is on kit would be great, I went to the SAS gig at the 02 London back in January 2009 & Rufus Drummed, while Roger was up front & it worked a treat. In 2005, would have rather had a 2nd drummer on kit for both "TATDOOL & RGG" than that bloody drum machine/re-recorded drumming, any day. But I do know what you mean, Roger's a bloody good drummer & singing from behind the kit was great in 2008. |

if they dont want to do a big tour maybe they can do one off shows in various countries i know that probably wont suit a lot of people but the shows or at least one of them may well be released on dvd |

I hope they will gonna play a gig or two in Denmark. But i doubt it will ever take place. |

bambams-paradise and guild93: I was in San Diego 2006 as well and it was indeed an awesome show. I saw them in Vienna, Munich, Prague and Leipzig the previous year but the best show was San Diego, by far. Paul and Brian were both on top form. The crowd cheered BadCo's songs almost as much as they did for Queen's. I was on the fifth row, on Brian's side, right next to the catwalk, and a friend of mine caught Brian's sixpence at the end of We the Champions. What a night! I really wish I could hear/see a recording of this show someday. |

That would be awesome if a bootleg turned up from San Diego, but I doubt it was ever recorded by anyone to be honest. Security was tighters than a crabs ass in mating season from what I remember, so getting any kind of a recorder in there would have been near impossible... |

The Brian, Roger and PR thing didn't work for me, felt like watching a tribute band and I didn't feel the Queen brand should have been used as only half of Queen were on stage. The only way to see an actual Queen concert would be to do it the way the Elvis Concert Tour has been trvelling the world to great success. Using the real musicians to play the music (Brian, Roger, (It would HAVE to be John or it simply wouldn't work) Spike, even Jamie Moses so Brian could really enjoy himself., and of course..........................Freddie, on big video screens. Most people admit the best part of the Queen+PR concerts was Bo Rap with Freddie sitting at piano. Each time he appeared on the video screen the crowd went mad! I have been reliably informed that after 10 mins, people forgot Elvis was not actually on the stage and felt they had seen the real thing. Remember, Elvis footage would not have been nearly as good as the footage that exists of Freddie in concert so could you imagine the effect? This need not be a one off celebration of the 40th Anniversary but a show that would pack stadiums the world over!! It's an idea but I have a feeling there has been a big rift between John and the boys. (The fact that not one of his songs appeared on the Deep Cuts album makes me fear there is no chance of a reconcilliation. (Long Away over You and I?.......I mean, c''mon!). Anyway, here's to getting fleeced for what ever they can get from us this year! Alser xx |

Well, at the end of april ot's Queen's day again in The Netherlands... I'll be on the Museum Square in Amsterdam waiting for that one-of gig. I missed it last time, so I take no risks anymore. |
