bought the definite biography of freddy mercury by leslie ann jones and the bio written by freddy's estate heir, mary austin.
i'm 3/4 of the way through the jones book, and i was really shocked about freddy's view on aids,in particularily on preventing
his getting it.what i got out of it,he told a german reporter he was do who he wanted too regardless of the danger in exposing himself to catching it.i really miss him,but i actually got pissed when i read this because if he had taken precautions,or at least gotten himself tested every month for iads,it's a great chance he'd be alive today!if he could have caught as early as magic johnson did,he'd still have the disease but he'd still be around! how do you guys feel about this?

3/4 of the way through the book and you haven't noticed that it's "Freddie", not "Freddy"?

I may be jeopardizing my credibility as a Freddie fan and this will make me sound like an asshole, but he's been dead for over 19 years. It sucks that he died and AIDS is a terrible disease, etc. but there you have it. Also, Magic Johnson found out he was HIV-positive in 1991. I'm guessing (key word) Freddie knew he had it since 1985, but sources claim he wasn't officially diagnosed until 1987. And in the 80's the development of medication and treatment were still very "trial and error." And then when you throw in that there are multiple strands of HIV and AIDS, one couldn't be sure that what medicine worked for one person would work for Freddie. As for him being quoted as being dismissive about the situation: I can't speak to that since I have neither read that book nor the original source.

unlike the word "ASSHOLE" there are several ways to sell freddie, and i just used the wrong one.i figured anybody over the age of10 could pick that up,obviously i excluded you,so i'm sorry!
What can you say about a person that doesn't start sentences with capitols, doesn't write names with a capitol, makes sentences with a very bad interpunction, forgets spaces, spells the name wrong of a person who's name he has read for maybe thousands of times, but does write the word ASSHOLE in capitols?
BTW, What is a 'Vretdy Merkoeri' and where can I buy it?
Here is a little info from Wiki. It sounds like Ms. Jones is interested in cashing in.
Jones is also revising and updating her 1997 Definitive Biography of Freddie Mercury. The hardback will be published by Hodder & Stoughton in October 2011, the paperback in 2012 to coincide with the Hollywood feature film about Freddie Mercury, starring Sacha Baron Cohen
