Apart from Sacha Baron Cohen for Freddie, does anyone know the cast for the upcoming biopic? I have some ideas of who I want to play the other Queen members, but like so many hardcore fans' dreams it'll probably never happen. How about Bill Paxton playing Deaky? And Rowan Atkinson as Brian? And the possibility of Jim Carrey as Roger? Just as an extra character, how about Alan Rickman as Norman Sheffield if he turns up in the story? Rickman is brilliant at playing villains after all... but I'm just rambling. |

Omid Djalili will do a double role as Brian/Roger, whereas the role of John will be played by that twat from Top Penis, Jeremy Clarkson. You heard it here first. |
mooghead 20.03.2011 15:17 |
Yeah but put Omid Djalili in front of a camera and he puts on a stupid generic middle eastern accent such is his 'range'. I can see Rowan Atkinson as Deacon actually but he loves to play the drums in real life so for him it would be Roger or no one. Ultimitely it doesn't matter because the film is going to be a massive pile of steaming shit. |

"Ultimitely it doesn't matter because the film is going to be a massive pile of steaming shit." You're probably right. Ali G as Freddie Mercury! How about Justin Beiber as Roger |

Robin williams could be a nice Old Deaky. I would cast Jay Mohr as roger Brian is a hard one. i think they must cast mostly unknowns |

That's like saying you don't like Jamie Foxx playing Ray Charles because he's sighted. I don't have a clue who should be cast as the other band members, and it doesn't matter anyway since I'm not the casting director. I do think that if this movie does fail, it will most likely be due to a poorly-written script. |

Anyone who's going to take umbrage because they have this, "Freddie is too sacred" attitude has the option to not watch the film when it's released to the public. |

I can't imagine the film will do well in the U.S. at all...and the director just doesn't seem like a choice I would have made to do this type of film. And definitely the actor chosen to play Freddie is not going to help the film, so I can't think it'll matter much who fills in the rest of the cast. |

What the fuck. I suggested Adrian Brody months ago, and someone called me an anti-semite. There is no justice in this place! |

Zebonka12 wrote: What the fuck. I suggested Adrian Brody months ago, and someone called me an anti-semite. There is no justice in this place! It's not necessarily a lack of justice. It's just... how can I put this delicately? Some people here are assholes, and a few of those in that category probably just like to pick words that generally indicate something bad (like being prejudiced against a group of people), but use them intentionally or unintentionally out of context so they don't even make sense. I'd like to believe most cases are due to a language barrier, but oftentimes it's because people are stupid. |

"Why would you be anti-semetic for suggesting that?! :D " Well okay ... I DID say that Adrian Brody should play him because Brian "has the whole persecuted jew thing going on for him", but I wasn't making fun of jews - I was making fun of Brian May for being such a bloody martyr all of the time. |

Pino Palladino as John Deacon... Heck, they've used him as a stand-in for Deaky once or twice. The man's practically John's clone! :D V. |

How about Justin Beiber as Roger Sacha Baron Cohen is a brillaint actor. You obiously havn't seen any of his films he has been in. If you disagree, you proberly dislike the characters he plays, not the actor himself. There is a big difference between a character and an actor. Mistake One. Mistake Two, how do you know the film maybe crap. Films often do sound weak when you first hear of a film, think Heath Ledger and the Joker. Mr Ledger and the film recieved some negative criticism upon first casting, but when the film came out, people were shocked, in a good way. Just because, it may sound like crap to you, doesn't mean it will be. Next thing to note, the writer of this film is Peter Morgan. Mr Morgan is one of the best writers to come out of the UK, hands down. If you seen any of his plays or films he wrote, you can understand how great a writer he is. Key example, Frost/Nixon, the film isnt 100% true, but from the way the film/play is written, you believe many of the events are true. Not forgetting, that Peter Morgan is one of those writers who can write characters in which people actually care about. Look again at Frost/Nixon. Richard Nixon is a often hated person due to the watergate scandel, but in the film/play, people felt sorry for Tricky Dick. The film is a biopic which in film terms is a character peice. Meaning the focus is on Mercury and not as much as the rest of the band, which is a good thing as you wouldn't need worry 100% about who plays them. Another good thing is that both May and Taylor are keeping their noses out of the project which is a good thing as what we don't want is another Doors, which if you seen it, its a complete mess and as a Doors fan, its frankly all wrong. Overall, don't begin hating on the film just because what you hear are just words, personally, I would suggest giving the film optimism at least until the film comes out, then you can be the judge of that. Personally, I think this film will be great, and if Mr Coen manges to do it right, (which I think he will) I reckon this film would be a forerunner for the BAFTA and Golden Globe awards. NOTE1 , i did not write OSCARS as I think the film should be release UK first. making it unqualafiable for the OSCAR fun NOTE2 Sucker Punch sucks |

Okay, well I don't think it's particularly anti-semitic. I'm Jewish, and if you had said something about The Holocaust or money or controlling the world, I would definitely consider it to be extremely anti-semitic, but that comment doesn't really bother me. |

Believe it or not, I'd be somewhat contrite if it really did offend someone, but my point was really that Brian spends so much time wailing these days that I just want to send him a voucher to a teddy-bear shop or something. CHEER UP, BRI. |
