Queen's songs are truly outstanding and timeless, and yet since the tragic loss of Freddie Mercury the band has struggled to rekindle the true magic of their live shows. Even though the remaining Queen members are fabulous world class musicians, they are an incomplete Queen without Freddie. I believe Adam Lambert could be that special guy who has the x-factor needed to put Queen back on the charts. I reckon they should tour and make an album of remixes of some of the unreleased great songs that never made the charts back in the day. Today the industry is missing real song writers and truly great musicians like Roger and Brian. Put them together for a "this is it" style queen tour with a new album and you have a recipe for all time greatest rock band of the world. comment on my blog here link |

if they do that, I will Kill My Self. I survived that rodgers thing. but This.. Please God No... Anyways, I respect your opinion, we all dream about seeing queen live again... |

is adam lambert one of those ,idol, winners?. is he any good?. or just more hype(ps i liked paul). |

Before you kill yourself, listen to 'Soaked' by Adam Lambert, its the greatest song Freddie never sung.... |
theherb 10.03.2011 18:08 |
That song soaked is a perfect example of how well he could fit the Brian May and Roger Taylor combination. Imagine Brian's guitar and Rogers drums on that track. New songs, old songs and unreleased material could bring queen back, with a total respect for Freddie and a whole new generation of Queen fans can find the legacy. Brian has already talked about working with Adam, How can we let him know the potential? |
GratefulFan 10.03.2011 22:02 |
I think Adam Lambert and Kerry Ellis should do a lovely, soaring Soaked duet, while staying far, far the hell away from Brian May and Roger Taylor. |
beautifulsoup 10.03.2011 22:29 |
Just no. |
jpf 10.03.2011 23:21 |
Absolutely no interest in Adam. The guy who Brian and Roger should be working with on new material is Gary Mullen. |

Have a look at this version of we are the Champions with Adam Lambert, Brian and Roger link |
Gregsynth 10.03.2011 23:43 |
Oversinging doesn't work on that song. |
theherb 10.03.2011 23:43 |
Gary Mullen is an impersonator, and what's the point of trying to impersonate Freddie. There are plenty of great tribute bands around. I'm talking about a fresh injection of real world class talent to the band. Adam worships Queen and would bring new life the to music. |
joesilvey 10.03.2011 23:50 |
as long as we're throwing out ridiculous hopes & dreams... i want Brian and Roger to work with Marc Martel |

Adam Lambert Dear God No!!!!! Paul Rodgers did a great job and should come back for a few shows. I don't give a toss what some of the stupid anti PR brigade on here think. PR did a great job and would love to see him come back and do a tour. |

You have the best of intentions but please, Queen are no more, Freddie is gone, we cant rush around looking for a replacement , he is irreplaceable, just enjoy the legacy. Master Marathon Runner |

Good God. Is it just me who thinks Adam Lambert is about as talentless as a turd - like most of todays X Factor/Idol contestants? |
pittrek 11.03.2011 13:07 |
Adam Lambert ? Are you on drugs ? The video you posted is vocally one of the worst versions of We Are The Champions I have ever heard |
Ray D O'Gaga 11.03.2011 15:16 |
Good, bad, or indifferent, it doesn't matter - it will never happen. If it were ever going to happen, it would have by now. Whatever buzz there was about the pair died down long ago. |
rubens 11.03.2011 17:12 |
Adam Lambert? No thanks. A guy who would put up a interesting combination with brian and roger is valencia (it's the guy name not the band name right?). I recently listen to his tribute album to queen and it's very good indeed. My fairy king by his band is awsome (not better than the original of course). |
Sheer Brass Neck 11.03.2011 20:47 |
Wouldn't matter if Freddie himself came back from the grave. As all the reviews rightfully state, Queen had a 7 year start to their career (especially up to ADATR) that were their creative peak. What would Queen and Freddie do if he were alive that they hadn't already done? Techno, Euro-synth trance? They did it all, and the reason there is a buzz about the re=-releases is that the world at large is sensing that Queen were an unbelievable band at their peak. Working with "Adam Labmert" (or even Adam Lambert) would be pointless. Guy with a decent voice, no bona fides and they'd get savaged by the press. Do you think he'd lead Brian and Roger in a new musical direction? Get real. |
john bodega 12.03.2011 00:47 |
He's got a fantastic voice, but he uses it to create utter SHIT. Who gives a fuck. |

Who is Adam Labmert? |
beautifulsoup 13.03.2011 15:09 |
theherb wrote: Have a look at this version of we are the Champions with Adam Lambert, Brian and Roger link ================== Yep. We saw it way back when it happened. The way Adam sang it, he made it all about him, and not the music. |

This is a great discussion, but I am surprised at the answers so far, Adam is a brilliant vocalist and even Brain said he has a great instrument and would like to work with him, who is a better judge?? Check out this latest performance by Adam link He would do a great rendition of "Love of My life" in concert, Like you say it's all about the music, not necessarily the person, and Adam would do the music justice |

Zebonka12 wrote: He's got a fantastic voice, but he uses it to create utter SHIT. Who gives a fuck. ========================================================== Chewbacca here is right. I listened to most of Adman Labmert's album and it was surprisingly shitty. Or perhaps a more accurate word would be 'boring'. It was boring and entirely predictable. Good voice, a touch hysterical delivery, promising live performer, sorely lacking in the musicianship. |

All he does is use the same "belt a note and slide to a head voice note" technique. It also doesn't help that he completely oversings during his cover versions. Freddie never oversang or got obnoxious during "we are the champions" or during "slow songs." |

Even if they differ from yours?), his singing that night came off as conceit. I am, of course, allowed to be wrong. :P |
GratefulFan 14.03.2011 11:01 |
Seems like a good time to retell my story about how it's Adam Lambert that resparked my love of Queen, in a roundabout way. When I saw that American Idol performance I shot up in my chair in a darkened living room at the point that Adam touched Brian's shoulder and said, out loud to no one, "Get your hands off Brian May". I never connected with Lambert in any way because outside his undeniable ability to sing, he's a big fat fake. He's a musical theatre guy, and it shows. If his talent had been developed in some way other than his mom driving him to theatre class for 10 years in the back of a Suburban or whatever, we might be having a different conversation. But behind all the costuming and posturing and makeup and bullshit edginess, he's just a male version of Kerry Ellis. Which is to say he is a talented singer whose theatre schtick translates better to the pop/rock genre than most, but not near good enough to in any way get inside my rock and roll soul. It's one of those things where my head wants to make room for the validity of others' differing opinions, but my gut just can't believe people can't feel what I feel, or more precisely, don't feel. |
Sheer Brass Neck 14.03.2011 22:16 |
Seriously spot on post, GratefulFan. |
Ray D O'Gaga 14.03.2011 22:45 |
Also, if I may add, it looks better on Kerry Ellis. Adam Labmert looks like an Australian's nightmare. |
GratefulFan 14.03.2011 23:33 |
Also, while Kerry's high notes merely put the survival of the family crystal in some doubt, Adams's sound disturbingly like atypically tuneful cat sex, |

I don't have a problem with Adam Lambert, though. I like him and bought his album. |

I've been a Queen fan since 1974 and counting and I like Adam Lambert too but I think that there will never be another singer as talented as Freddie was so may Queen be Queen and Adam as Adam is. |
marcelag5 16.03.2011 12:30 |
Adam Lambert has good stage presence. I would see them if they did that. But do you guys know who would actually come close? And who would make us feel a little bit of what a Queen concert was? Gary Mullen... the guy from "One Night of Queen" who sings and moves like Freddie. Of course, Freddie will never be replaced, but Gary could do a magnificent job in making us feel we're in a Queen concert. Just go to their website and check out the audio files... tell me what you think :) |
marcelag5 16.03.2011 12:33 |
Ok I know he's an impersonator... but the point is, at least we could close our eyes and think we're in a Queen concert, since some of us will never know :( |
