Great way to celebrating the 40th anniversary :-)
You're an angel...
What a nice collection magazines of fanclubs !!!
Some revelations, surprises, things neither knew about the band and their members !!
Thanks so much for sharing this , ghost' !!! :-)
The earliest issues from '74 & '75 were in the form of newsletters.
By Summer '76 it was more like a proper magazine, although still called a newsletter.
From Autumn '76 onwards it was referred to as a magazine. link link
Thanks for your scans Paulosham! I have been looking at old topics for few days and I came across these fanclub magazines. I would like to have all those scans in my collection because I find it to be very interesting.
I managed to download magazines from there - link
But here links are dead unfortunately :( Also there - link
Thank you Kurgan for the information. It's nice to know the earliest issues come from 1974. Queen cared about the fans from the early stage of their career.
An interesting tidbit from the Feb 1974 one - it says See What A Fool I've Been won't be on the Queen II, even though they haven't finished work on it yet.
This article from the March 9, 1974 Sounds has Freddie saying they'd finished the work on the album "three weeks ago", so this suggests that the track listing may well have been finalized before they'd finished mixing the album - that's definitely not always the case. Sequencing is often the last thing to do.
