Ok, the re-masters sound good. I am more than happy to buy again for the quality and the bonus stuff.
But what really fucks me off is the way they are directly targeting the real hard-core fans with another rip off.
If you want the physical cds with the packaging etc AND you want the bonus videos you will have to buy each album TWICE. Once as a cd and once as an iTunes download.
That's because the bonus videos are not on the cds and you can't buy the videos seperately from iTunes. It's complete albums only.
Casual buyers will buy one or the other. Full-on Queen fans who will want the newly released bonus material more than anything else and who have already parted with considerable amounts of wonga over the years, are now being expected to buy the albums twice in order to have both the physical cds and the complete bonus material.
That absolutely fuckin' stinks.
Are they expecting the albums to sell such low numbers that they have to fleece the core audience to make some cash? Or do they just not give a shit?
Is there anyone from either Universal or QPL that is involved in marketing that would like to give a good reason for this decision (if it is anything other than getting fans to buy the albums twice).
I know it isn't something that Greg or Gary have anything to do with. So to whoever it is from Universal or QPL, who's job description requires them to keep an eye on these forums, can you please pass this question on to the relevant person and be decent enough to respond?

You know SS, I'd just love to read a thread where you're not moaning about something lol (you know I jest).
On a serious note, why the hell would you want the videos? Surely you got them already? (I know, we already got the albums too, but it's kinda like starting over again - new label, new era, new clean masters etc). But iTunes videos? Not a big deal mate!
I know I moan like a twat all the time. I'm bloody lovely to live with ;)
Of course, you're right about the videos but I was at Earl's Court and I just resent having to shell out twice for, in the main, the same thing just to get the odd clip.
At the end of the day, the work's been done (ie recording the albums) and the rewards gained (many times over). I do realise that cleaning up old video and audio takes time and costs money. But just sell it fairly.
Sell us dvds of complete concerts, not bloody drip feeding us morsels on the back of yet another re-release.
Anyway, John Deacon had the right idea. I just wish I could do the same.
Think I'll go and calm down with some Motorhead and a bottle of Jack.

just don't bother with the videos mate, they'll soon get the message. I reckon the physical CDs will be well worth the cash, quality-wise, but once the die-hards have them, their sales will dwindle and again, they'll get the message. Maybe once they've seen that this is the *last* throw of the dice, then maybe they'll start to put out the stuff we're hoping for. Until then, keep calm and carry on lol

Your opening salvo makes no sense. You are more than happy to buy but you are being ripped off??!
Perhaps its because of this they keep releasing the same old crap?
The only way 'they' will release stuff people actually want is if 'we' stop buying the same songs over and over again. But they wont because 'we' are the minority. The general record buying public are the majority and they keep on buying.....

No, he's saying he's happy buying the actual CDs, it's the iTunes part that's the rip-off, as this is the only way to obtain the video segments of the release. IMHO, it's only a rip-off if you allow yourself to be ripped off. Just avoid iTunes!

I absolutely love this phrase!!! Dyin' of laughter here! lol I have never thought of or heard that variation of the F-word before and I can't wait to use it myself. I'm not trying to insult or make fun... Carlin would be proud. I thank you for sharing!
