Correct me if I'm wrong but hasn't it been 10 years since the Queenrocker invasion of Queenzone? I remember that the official fan club bulletin board went tits up about 59 seconds after 11:59 on the 31st of December 1999 (Jacky blamed the millenium bug but I still believe she pulled the plug). A few months later, a guy called The Left Handed Guitarist started the Queenrocker message board but that didn't last very long and we ended up here at Queenzone some time around 2001. Wouldn't it be a hoot if we could organise some sort of reunion for all the old Queenzoners? I don't have e-mail addresses for anyone from back then but I'm sure a lot of folk out there will be able to get the word out somehow. My memory isn't all that great but I'd love to hear from a few of the folks I do remember. Eggy: His real name was Leigh and I think he came from Stoke-on Trent. If memory serves he went out with a girl who he met on Queenzone. CLT: Her name stood for Crazy Little Thing but we used to call her CLiT. She may have been the girl Eggy was going out with. Marshmallow: Stunningly beautiful and a beautiful human being too. Enjoyed a bit of S&M. Ginga-Babe: Like Marshmallow but with ginger hair. Fun It: He was in the forces and loved a good argument. Chad Hanging: Camper than a row of tents and famous for his long diatribes in which he accused everyone of homophobia. Alli James: Lovely young lass who never forgot a birthday. Taylormayed: Great guy and a talented writer. Wouldn't be at all surprised if he was working in television now. Bob the Shrek: Big Bad Bob was one of the few Queenzoners I had the pleasure of meeting with in the real world. I know he got married recently and his wife probably wont let him play with us anymore. DeaconJohn. Real name David. Came from Northern Ireland. Another Zoner I met in real life. Eric & Demeter: Queenzone's first married couple. Pieter & Erin: Queenzone's second married couple, I think. Gordondoburstingfoam: Came from Glasgow and is famous for coining the phrase "Stepford Fan". Flashman & Archie Leach: Queenzone's answer to Waldorf & Statler from the Muppets. Janet: One of the longest serving Zoners with the most beautiful green eyes. Penetration Guru: The worlds most knowledgable, enigmatic and sarcastic Queen fan. Where is he now? Banquo: Looked like Ed Tenpole. And of course there are the pricks like Ted, Dudley Fufkin, Bricktop, Super Trouper, Freddie VTB and the countless others who were all Jake Britt. That's about all I can recall for the time being. I'll probably add more as I remember them but if you can think of anymore, feel free to add them to the list and if you have any way of getting in touch with them, drop them a line and ask them to stop by. fatty. |

It would be good to hear from some, if not all, of those people. Alli James I seem to remember was an extremely nice person (judging to her posts). Same goes for Bob the Shrek, TaylorMayed, Penetration Guru, Janet and DeaconJohn. The only other zoner I am curious about is LiveAidQueen (Kayla) |

To add to your good list, there was also Geeksandgeeks.. Mandy was always very nice and quite an intelligent addition to the board. What the hell happened to this place, anyway? A few too many trolls... and about half the people here now are one tomato short of a pizza. |

What the hell happened to this place, anyway? =============================================== In short: 2001: SITE CRASH!!!!!!!! (the beginning of the end) 2003: BobTheShrek Alli-James left 2004: Fatty caught Jake Britt out when he replied to his own post using the same username. 2005: T.moment & Amir came, queen+paul Rodgers brought a load of other trolls who have never left 2006: Your valentine gave up trying to moderate the site, there was a wave of people changing their name to treasure moment 2007: Richard gave the site a very buggy makeover, due to people keeping on at him. 2008: Idiots found out they could update Queenzone news with anything. 2009: Penetration guru, Lester Burnham & Smitty left and random teenage girls join, Richard officially lost interest in queenzone. People start needing awards, polls and votes every 5 minutes to make sure their opinion matches the majority and everything is okay. Fanmix section becomes a ghost town. 2010: Lifetimemqueenfan and goodolfashionedloverboy joined. TRS-Romania, lisser and John s stuart stopped posting frequently. 2011: The same 10 threads get posted and re posted, every few weeks somebody questions the (non)-existence of knebworth. Every single topic has Goodoldfashionedloverboy asking if it was broadcast on TV. treasure moment changes to Transvilla. 2012: Brian May and Roger Taylor tour russia with the current "in" boyband and Roger releases an album of covers with cliff richard. 2013: Fatty Returns once again after brain Surgery. Brian May's ever greyer hair is at the point where he looks like on of his beloved badgers. 2014: I stop posting. 2016: A full tape of the Knebworth screen feed is found to exist, Queen agree to release it but the only copy gets destroyed in a fire 2 days before being digitally transferred for “clean up” by eagle rock, who are now coincidentally owned by snow productions. 2017: fatty’s heart attack, zebonka getting captured for study by scientists, greg brooks getting crushed under a crate of his unsold books and treasure moments rise to stardom pretty much signal the very end for the website. Of course none of this is accurate because i've just made it up. |

Just remembered some more. Wstussyb> Great guy but I could never work out how to pronounce his name. Catgurl: I remember the name but I cant remember if she was really nice or a complete psycho. Dark Myutwo: Okay so he's still here under the guise of Inu-Liger but I loved him when he was Dark Myutwo. There's more but I'm struggling to put names to them. I might have a trawl through some old threads and see if I can come up with a few more. fatty. |

Honestly fatty, and I'd like to say this without coming across as disrespectful, but I'm really trying to put that former nick behind me as (with some people here) it just only conjures up bad shit from the past. |

Eggy was with Raspy - not Clit :-) They are both alive and well but not together anymore. Most of the people you, fatty, mentioned are on facebook, I love to keep contact with old zoners via facebook these days like eggy, Raspy, Alli-James, Iron-Eagle, LiveAidFreddie , FreddieVTB, Inu-Liger; Chad, wstussyb, Janet, BobTheShrek, CatGurl ( a very cool lady - not a psycho at all), Pieter, Erin, Banquo, Brandon, Lisser, FriedChicken the Guru, people from the hub (bokkepoot, Zeni) and the chat room (Saturn, SallyJ), friends from Italy, Holland, Argentina and many, actually hundreds, more :-) Through Queenzone I met so many people who became online friends or even real life friends - just amazing. Recently, I remembered that I joined QZ about 10 years ago and I considered writing about it but I was afraid Inu-Liger would tell me to get a blog, lol. I never moderated the forum, nor did Richard moderate it. However, I deleted dozens of trolls over the years and there was no charging or trial, just execution - benevolent dictatorship as Richard defines it :-) Richard never wanted to censor user messages in any way, therefore content of messages was never censored (except for posts announcing official material) but spammers were deleted. TED was not the worst troll - the worst troll was a Dutch guy who spammed the forums so badly that I had to issue a formal complaint to his provider to stop him. Like fatty I remember some cool Queenzoners who vanished and were never seen again. For example Chuffy (real name Claire), Black Queen (real name Paloma), ogre t raylot (real name David), RipVanWinkle (Michael), Opposition (unknown) |

Thanks Barb. I was beginning to think I had alzheimers but now that you've mentioned the names, it's all come back to me. I remember Eggy and Raspy and I dont know how I could have forgotten Chuffy. She was a real sweetheart. I also remember Catgurl and I must have her mixed up with someone else. Who was the girl who tried to get people to send her money? I also need a good hard kick in the balls for forgetting Brandon, LiveAidQueen, Iron Eagle and Lisser, although Lisser is still around isn't she? It's interesting that you keep in touch with FreddieVTB. He and I never got along but I suppose we're both a little more grown up these days and I certainly don't want to dig up old bones. If you do still keep in touch with some of the old-timers it'd be nice if you asked them to stop by and say hello again. Thanks again Barb. fatty. |

I joined in 2005, apparently the same year that TM did, and Rodgers was not responsible for it, trust me :-) I remember one guy alled 911 or some such number. Very irritating with his "know it all" attitude about media formats ad stuff, but he was indeed knowledgable, I think. And I think Sir GH has been here for a really long time too? |

Hi everyone! :-) I joined Queenzone in 1997. I still peek here weekly or so, I just seldom post anymore. As YourValentine posted above, there are lots and lots of Zoners on Facebook that still communicate regularly! I am still good friends with Bob the Shrek and his wife Karen. Alli James (whose real name is Amanda) is also a very dear friend of mine, and is now a lovely young woman who got married last August :-) The last time I communicated with DeaconJohn (David) was about a year ago. Brandon is on Facebook, as well as LiveAidQueen (Kayla), who is engaged to be married. I'd love to have a reunion of "old Zoners", would be fun!! |
.DeaconJohn. 28.02.2011 13:14 |
Hello everyone. It's strange how these things happen; I probably check Queenzone at the rate of about twice a year - but something that happened recently caused Queenzone to come back in to my mind. A couple of days ago I was at a friend's engagement party (a friend who also by chance has met Fatty! - it's the friend who I went to Edinburgh with when I met Fatty all those years ago) - towards the end of the night, there was a couple of songs played where the bride and groom to be had to get up and do a slow dance in front of everyone and make a show of themselves. The DJ must have had a twisted sense of humour because one of the songs that was played was Who Wants to Live Forever - it was one of the most hilarious and surreal things I've seen. I've been listening to Queen a bit since that night and I decided to check Queenzone last night - I was of course well chuffed to see Fatty had just put a post up - on the rare occasions when I have checked Queenzone in recent years I don't recognise most of the posters any more. I was 17 when I joined Queenzone; I recently turned 27 - when I joined I was in the first year of my A-Levels at school - school now seems like a past life, university has come and gone, and now I'm just another pleb sitting in an office all day! I have very fond memories of Queenzone over the 3 or 4 years when it was at it's best (for me anyway). I've been a member of a few different forums since then, but none of them are as fun as Queenzone was 'back in the day' - loads of great people, a few entertaining nutters, and some posters who I got to know well outside of Queenzone. As to what those people are up to now: Chuffy - been a few years since I heard anything about Chuffy (real name Claire) - I think the last I heard of her she was engaged and was training to be a paramedic. So with any luck she is married now, and a paramedic! Actually I've just searched for her 'real name' on Facebook and found that she does indeed have a Facebook profile, so I'll have to add her and find out how she's getting on. Amanda (Alli) James - now all grown up; happily married and working as a teacher. Janet - still as wonderfully crazy as ever and living with her family (husband Dan, son Chris, and a larger collection of animals than any sane person would have) in Ohio. BobTheShrek - got hitched a few years back and I believe is living in Sheffield. Been a while since I've communicated directly with him but I always ask after him on the (still rare) occasion that I speak to Janet and he seems to be doing really well for himself these days. He has ventured over the pond a couple of times to meet up with Janet. There's also numerous other people of course who have been and left who made Queenzone such a fantastic place. I have very fond memories of Queenzone and I'll probably always check in from time to time. What about you then Fatty? Have you published any more books? I still have the books you gave me in Edniburgh, I even still have the Queen complete works LP set that you sent over god knows how many years ago. I was over in Edinburgh recently actually; in early December during the big freeze - walking up Arthur's Seat in a blizzard is difficult but definitely worth it - honestly! And finally, a little piece of nostalgia: using the internet wayback website, it is possible to view cached copies of old web pages; one such webpage which was preserved was a topic started by Chuffy, wishing me a happy 18th birthday: link |

Great to see you're still around DJ. Next time you're over, drop me line and we'll go for a beer. Just don't expect me to go climbing up Arthur's Seat with you. It was weird seeing the old format of the message board in that link and there was even an old post of mine with the title "confessions of a tosser" but I couldn't get it to open. Can't remember what that was about but no doubt it was some chemically induced bollocks. Good to see you again too Janet. Be sure to give Bob my regards. I've remembered a few more names to add to the list. Mexqueen and Freddie B who were both wonderful blokes and Tigerlily who was one of the first people to welcome the Queenrockers to Queenzone. fatty. |

About Freddie VTB - I remember quite well that he came across as a bit odd in the Fan Club chat room and here on the notice board. In real life he is a very normal friendly, polite and very likeable person. I met him various times on the Dutch and German conventions and on the 2005 QPR tour. It is very easy to look like a fool on the internet and once you have that label in a community, it is hard to get rid of it. But the Queen community does exist outside the notice board and you can make lots of friends if you are only open minded enough to speak to people with no prejudice. People also do grow up. Inu-Liger was mentioned earlier and I have to say that he was only 13/14 years old when he had his fights with Chad on the news board. Now he is a very sensitive grown up person and has nothing to do with his old QZ alter ego. In a way I am very proud that both fatty and Inu are still around on this notice board. We are like a big dysfunctional family where people stick together by relation and not because they made friends :-) This thread is like grandfather's 80th b-day where all the old embarrassing childhood stories are brought up by mom and there is no escape:-) There will always be jokes about the Edmonton Queen convention .... oops, I mentioned it ... sorry Richard ;-) |

Isn't Freddie VTB a swinger nowadays? I've been on QZ since 2004. Does anyone remember the scandal concerning the Houston audio share? Or the Buffalo 1978 share? God, I was involved in this, together with Dennis (I believe his nick was Lord of Darkness). Epic times. |

I wish my memory was a little better, but if anyone knows what the hell I'm talking about, please say! Back on the old QFC chat room, I used to be quite friendly with two gals from Oz, Teresa and Ali (a mother and daughter) and a Belgian guy whose name escapes me but for some reason "mario" keeps springing to mind. It was back in the day where we really were a family, and adopted folk as mums, dads, aunties, uncles and so on. Any of them here? Or do you know what I'm talking about? I was also quite chatty with Poison Ivy, who I'm sure passed away around a decade ago. She was my "auntie" lol. Great days, but I just wish I could remember in detail. |

YV would have to kick him out of the chat room on a regular basis for awhile, but he settled down. I always liked him. He was quite a character, and is a brilliant guy. I'm not sure if he's finished his final year at university or not, or if this is his final year. And if it didn't matter, nobody would be talking about it now. If we go by your logic, then fuck Queen too - they are in the past, and Freddie is long dead and gone. Bet you don't like that coment? The voice of Freddie Mercury and his musical abilities and his talent never disappoint me . the past should forget so fuck you. Imagine what happens in threads as this leads to what might end to new members. old queenzone is gone. If QPL has finally found their conscience and decided to please fans of the release of the concerts 70's , what kind of a concert of the 70's you would like to see in official fuck release? |

You are being especially retarded lately. I'm not complaining; it's hilarious. |

To Zebonka: He's not playing with the full deck, I'm not sure even he knows what he's preaching about anymore. ============== To Goodoldfashionedloverboy: You maybe want to get going to something’s, another forum for you awaits inside. 70's queen long dead as horse. Queenzone is not lacking random poster same 5 posts a million times, most sick and tired of it all. So QPL release live at the rainbow of queen when you go away, far away or shoot to own head. |
catqueen 10.03.2011 13:13 |
I wish so badly that i had been around in the early days. :( It always sounds like QZ used to be so funny and vibrant and everyone was such good friends. Ah well, ill just have to stick around for the next 10 years and ill be an 'old' QZ-er too :D |
Thistle 10.03.2011 13:14 |
@ Goodoldfashionedloverboy Look you, cunt, I've been far too polite to you (and have even been defensive of you) but now I'm going to tell you exactly like it is, you wee fucking arsehole. FUCK OFF, YOU RUSSIAN RETARD, NO-ONE FUCKING LIKES YOU. FUCK OFF, LEARN SOME ENGLISH, LEARN SOME MANNERS, LEARN TO TALK WITH PEOPLE AND NOT TO THEM, LEARN TO STOP WHINING LIKE A WEE GIRL, LEARN TO STOP TALKING ABOUT THE SAME THING YOU MONOTONE CRETIN, AND GET IT INTO THAT FUCKING THICK HEAD OF YOURS THAT QP DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU OR YOUR PLEA FOR THE RELEASE OF 70s SHOWS. **For the civilized QZoners that know me better than this, please accept my apologies, but I needed to get this off my chest. Freddie is my idol as well, I love him and Queen to bits, and I agree 100% with your sentiment that he never fails to impress with his undying talent, but how dare you talk to people the way you do on this forum. You can't just tell people to fuck off and forget the past because you don't like the topic. Let people talk about whatever they want to, and stop polluting the forum with your inane shit. Clear? |

You people are sick: I was talking about an instructional video by Professor Philias Fuck, Institute of Advanced Leisure Activities in Heidelberg, about how to relax by listening to whale music, while wearing suitable clothing such as underwear made out of tree bark, and err.. shoes made out of sustainable dolphin fisheries. Or something. You disgust me. ;) |

Before this thread gets too derailed... Hi there! I figured I'd stop creepily lurking around and post something. I still look back fondly at the many releases of Houston 77, and Treasure Moment, and all of the epic QPR arguments. And how embarrassingly pricky I could be at times. Ah well. It's funny to see how, um, far (?), this place has come. :P |

I'm still here :) I've forgotten my password or log-in for my regular Lisser account at the moment but this is moi, I promise :) I still lurk and QZ is still and always will be my home screen. I just miss the old posters on here. The moronic teen invasion hit and it doesn't seem to have passed yet but I will be patient and be back posting regularly when there are people that can carry on a decent dialogue. Beside all of that, I'm busy with two kids and work. I started coming here when Anthony was born. He is now almost 8. Cameron is almost 13. They are so grown up, I can't believe it. Those of you that I am friends with on Facebook can see how grown they are now. It amazes me. I do remember Arlene and I think I called her out on a few occassions? There was someone else also that I couldn't resist making an ass out of. I can't remember who that was but she was using a picture of someone that worked at an eyeglass office? That was fun :) I also remember Thijs being naked playing the drums. That was definitely a psychotic episode!! I think a gay guy named Jeff or Jeffrey that lives in a trailer in Oklahoma, has a cat that licks his penis, refuses to pay for hot water so he microwaves water to "bathe" in told me about Thijs playing the drums nekked and showed me the video!!!!. Good times!!! Fatty, I love you and I miss you. Thanks for making this thread!! |

Good times!!! Fatty, I love you and I miss you. Thanks for making this thread!! Two of the more interesting off-topic subjects . . . I was afraid to bring them up, but that one with the picture of the person working in the eyeglass office was wild! That whole BS story was a RIOT! And I didn't want to mention the whole Jeffrey/naked Thijs video. Didn't Jeffrey do his best to PM and then obtain naked videos of a number of folks on QZ? I honestly couldn't remember if Jeffrey was the artist also known as Jake Britt or not, but I do remember when his avatar was a Great White Shark . . . at least I think that was him. Is he lurking here under a different name? Also, several honorable mentions need to go to Freya and Jadie for the Great Carrot Panic of a few years ago, and especially to Freya for turning me onto Noel and Russell. And Barfly in Camden. @YV--thanks for the link to Raf. I PMed him on FB the other day and received a nice note from him. He is a BRILLIANT guy! Chiming in with my thanks to you, Fatty, for starting this thread. BTW, did those chavs ever stop kicking the football against the wall? |

By the way, to clarify something for a couple users or so, Jeffrey and Jake Britt are most definitely *not* the same person. I can vouch for Jeff being as real as can be. (And he doesn't live in a trailer house anymore either, last I heard from him he's moved into a proper house and ditched the trailer about maybe a couple years ago...?) |

I don't know if he's been mentioned yet but I just realized...there's also Dan aka Mr. Jingles. He was pretty cool, not sure if he's still around here. I was able to (unexpectedly) meet him in person back in 2006 when QPR came to Massachusetts. I remember getting there very early and looking across the catwalk thinking hmm....this guy looks familiar....just based off his old profile pic, haha. Such a great show, I was right up front...it was unbelievable. |

Fatty could we please have some more of your legendary Queen tales? Also miss John S. Stewart's catalogs, and the debates about where the spoken word from fast WWRY @ BBC came from I made it to a few Breakthru's, 2008 cut my dreadlocks and trimmed the beard (It was time, it IS time), but the leather jacket with the crest on the back has spikes on the shoulders now. So very very busy these days, really enjoyed meeting some Queenzoners at the Hollywood Walk of Fame event & gig. Good memories. Bring back that Leroy Brown! McKinley Hill |

wow , reading this really brought back many great thoughts of the past, bot good and bad...but all memorable. i haunted this board in 1997 and stayed for awhile.met some great people, many of them mentioned here, and in 1999 i believe, was part of the first unofficial breakthru convention held in chicago with all of 20 people. mde good friends and incredible great friends, one that even changed my life by helping me and motervating me to pack it up and go "long away" from wisconsin.that moved did nothing but ake my life better and i will always be thankful for that.i remember discussions that turned into fights and fights that turned into discussions, but all were imformative.met many good people in real time , many lifelong memories.....i remember i was gonna dress up as the "nut" from fairy fellers master stroke for the queen break thru convention in 2001 and remember driving around with a certain "iron " guy, looking to buy domething to drink and needed his "eagle' eye lol..i really remember how we sometimes took the ogre battle to "kween" and totally destroyed a really terrible japaneese cover bands chatroom lol..i still recall the (7 bitches of porkchop). i think all the "older' people in here can think of great memories , and i know that there are people wh have made life long friends, even married them, and i know that others will look back on those days and think...these were the says of our lives |
