Well, I'm bored so I decided to share this with you. So bored that I'm even willing to expose myself to harsh criticism but what the hell.
Since I first became a Queen fan (when I was 12 years old) I've had the dream of performing at least one of their songs in front of an audience. Childish, but it eventually came true. I sing in a choir, and last year we were invited to participate in a "Symphonic Queen" concert, along with a symphonic band, a vocal quartet and a soloist tenor.
At first I was thrilled, but I soon regretted being part of that group that was ruining Queen's greatest hits. My choir fellows couldn't pronounce correctly a single word, apparently the tenor and the members of the vocal quartet had never listened to Queen before since they had trouble with singing the right lyrics (come on! it was Love of my Life, not The Fairy Feller's!!) and some arrangements made my ears bleed (replacing a guitar with a horn or a trumpet wasn't probably the best idea).
Anyway, everybody enjoyed the show very much (myself included). The theatre was crowded, we got a standing ovation and did two encores, but I hope Queen will never listen to what we have done to their wonderful music. :(
Was it as bad as I think it was? I'd like to hear your comments.
