In the recent (excellent) article in Guitarist' magazine about Brian's other equipment, one of the other guitars referenced is a Chet Atkins acoustic. In the interview piece Brian says that he always used in live on Who Wants To Live Forever, and thinks he used it on the studo version too.
Surely this is a mistake either by Brian, or by the magazine, and this should be Is This The World We Created...? that he uses that guitar on?? I certainly only recall him using a keyboard and the Red Special on WWTLF live, and I don't think there's any acoustic guitar either on the studio version.
Please tell me it's Brian's memory (as usual) playing up and not mine!!!
It wouldn't be the first or last time Brian's memory slips.
WWTLF, in the studio, features Brian playing a DX-7 synth and his home-made guitar (or perhaps a replica ... hard to tell as they're 99% identical in sound).
ITtWWC was played live with Roger's Gibson Chet Atkins, but in the studio it was recorded with a 12-string Ovation.
Keep in mind, the interview was with one of the guys in the band that swore that Paul Rodgers was one of Freddie's biggest influences lol! I'm just sayin...
