Either the taper briefly pressed stop for some reason and then resumed recording, or there was something wrong with the master tape.
So yes, the problem is normal. Anything flaw in a 30-year-old tape is normal, as they don't always store well. It's pretty remarkable that this one person provided us with 7 new Queen tapes, most of which were upgrades in some way... and they all survived the test of time remarkably well.
Nope, I checked the alt source and that's the spot where they did their tape flip too. The newer source has more tape in this spot, so this should be the best copy now.
I found a small drop at 1:58 in Fat Bottomed Girls and two others on the same song but which are really really minor. Maybe you could do something for the first drop. What do you think about it?
I must say you undergraded this recording on your website. You rated it as B but I would rate it at least B+ or A-.
Fair play. Upon closer inspection, it definitely is worthy of a B+ rating.

There are a lot of little blips on this tape. It seems this tape didn't store as well as the others... such is the nature of old tapes !
Some people are purists and prefer to have the sources separated in cases like this, as these kinds of brief edits may hinder the listening experience. So I think I'm going to leave this one alone. These things are pretty minor in the grand scheme of things, unlike, say... the gaps in the second source from New York 12-1-77.
This is awesome!!
Another master from Brussels!
Thanks a lot SirGH!
I don't know why, but in all gigs from this venue I hear incredible performances.
I really love the indoor sound.
