should we insure our queen collections.
i have a small(but select),collection.
all the standard cd releases, some books, stack of videos, couple of box sets.and a complete uk collection of progs.along with mandella progs, unofficial uk 82 and 86 progs, taylor and may progs, and live aid uk,mercury tribute, and usa progs.
and ticket stubs.and some unoficial progs(wwry london,a gold prog,and a 20 yrs special prog)
would it be best to put on my household insurance policy.
Nice collection. You can insure this stuff, but it really is irreplaceable. Take good care of it.
I see a ticket stub for Edinburgh 82... did you take any pictures at the show?
Take one of your programms, go to the next Supermarket and ask them, whether they give you a tin of beans for it.
I'm afraid they won't do that. Things like that only have a personal value, they may mean the world to you but for someone else it's just old records and magazines...

First comment of advice in regards to insurance agents: don’t trust them.
Second comment: find a good one.
You will most likely need a list, and proof, of your possessions. If you need a separate policy, or an addendum, …get it. If not, it is not worth the expense. Also, have your agent visit and see your possessions. Ask questions, since that's what they get paid to provide answers.
You will not get ‘value’, unless it is specified or something unique. A ’75 tour book may not be replaceable, in which case, you can purchase a ’77 tour book, since they are ‘similar’ in nature. Ticket stubs and the like…..forget it. Scan them now, and if something happens, just pay for the replacement.
If you have the rare blue BoRhap, you need picture proof. If you cannot get it replaced, then something somewhat similar in value can be purchased. But you’ll need approval.
If you have all of the UK and USA vinyls, all of the saved boxes that CDs used to come in……well, don’t expect those to be replaced. Something ‘similar’ will enter into the picture.
And do your research ahead of time. Go to ebay or eil.com and print up what the replacements are currently of value. Have those ready for the agent. Or, set them aside at a friend’s house for future reference.
