For some reason I feel that Made in Heaven doesn't get the attention it deserves. Most people seem to either ignore it, or put it down, but I think it is a great album with many classic songs that definitely doesn't fall under one of their worst albums. Thoughts?
MIH is awesome and in my opinion the best sounding album they ever did. I wish every album sounded as great as MIH does. Songwise I would've dropped My Life Has Been Saved. For some reason I never felt that it fitted in with the rest of the album. Definitely in my top 5 of Queen-albums, along with ADATR, ANATO, Innuendo and The Game.
indeed, the songs make me cry, knowing how ill freddie was and how he had to try so hard to keep it quiet from the newspapers, for that, i hate jurnalists, and anything like it, i see a reality magazine and i look away before i get really pissed off, poor Freddie, in those times he should have had a pieceful life, no worrys to worry about, but no, journalists had to make the rest of his days shit
Agreed. I think all the songs are amazing on that album except for the actual song Made in Heaven. For some reason, I've never been a fan of that song.
It fits together as well as the other albums, even better than some, but like some of the ones that
came before it, it drags on if you give it an entire play through.
Yeah Made in Heaven is a very good album. I love listening to it and the variety of emotions. It's better than Innuendo and all of the Queen albums after The Game.
'Most people see to ignore it', yes that's true and i'm among those people because Made In Heaven is terribly poppy (songs like Let me live sound sickly especially if you think how much they rock in the 70s), and also compiled from discarded songs (there was some reason why they were discarded wasnt there?). Their last album was Innuendo on 1991 period, Id only spare Winter's tale and mother love
It's true, MIH is very poppy, but as far as I'm concerned, they took the art of crafting the pop song to perfection on this album. The arrangements of every song are absolutely brilliant. I wouldn't have changed a single note. I find many of the songs themselves on Innuendo to be a bit stronger, but the arrangements on MIH, from the bombastic bits to all the subtleties... they are a blueprint of how to turn a song into a vehicle that conveys a surreal display of emotion, and while remaining completely accessible. There aren't many artists who can manage that on a single song, never mind an entire record.
I alway's liked this album. from the art work to the music, Brian and Roger's playing is great, and freddie vocals are very strong. It doesn't have any epic songs like Innuendo, but the album is consistently Good. Not a song I don't like.
Indeed, I love this album.
Although I don't "ignore" it I DO seperate it from the other Queen albums...it's not a "proper" album as it was pieced together and created after Freddie's death. That, in NO way, takes anything away from it...but it does make it different.
Innuendo was the last true Queen album with all four members consciously involved in it's creation.
Definitely the best sounding album in Queen history. I hope the Universal remasters will sound like this :-)
But to be honest, I have a huge problem to listen to the whole album from the beginning to the end. It needed more faster and/or heavier tracks to put between the ballads

Absolutely spot on Prime Jive. Four and a half original songs, reworked Freddie solo stuff and the odd B side - it was a bit of a kick in the teeth after all the anticipation.
