My college roommate and I had a couple of friends over watching Monday Night Football on what was a fun evening after finals. And then..... link
It's worth the twelve minutes of watching. Amazed that Cosell did not want to mention it.
Still don't know who won the game. All I remember is dropping my drink, the four of us walking to a nearby bar and hearing Beatles music on the jukebox. On our walk back, with a case of beer in tow, hearing Beatles/John tunes coming from the various dorms/apartment complexes.
If Sasha boy can do anything near what we saw from the movie 'Nowhere Boy'...........
so this is xmas...........................
194-1980
Wow he was pretty old.
In all seriousness, I wasn't alive at the time but I'm a Beatles fan as well and it's very strange that it's been 30 years. He wasn't my favorite Beatle (Paul is) but the recently released Double Fantasy stripped down mixes were the best things I heard this year. He was quite amazing and it saddens me that he had to die the way he did.
I tried to correct the subject header right after I posted, but it wouldn't take.
Then again, no wonder he wrote all those great songs. He had a lot of years to do it..........
That was another "day that music died".
It was so sad, this man has given so much ideas to the world and he would have deserved to see, how much his music still means today.
Also I'm convinced The Beatles definitely would have come together again. "Live Aid" 1985 might have turned out slightly different......
The same goes for the "Hot Space"- album........
